    Once again an excellent video. It's very rewarding to see your videos. The simplicity of its light set is proof that it is not necessary to use a large number of tools to obtain excellent results, knowing the behavior of light the simple one becomes effective. Is that diffuser you're using from Rosco? Do you know the Rosco 3026 model? or is it very transparent? Do you think you would get the same result? grateful

    • @botvidsson
      @botvidsson  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Daniel and thanks for the kind words.
      It's not Rosco but they might have a similar one. I use Savage, see all info on my gear page: www.botvidsson.se/gear
      It might work with a regular diffusion plastic. The only worry I have is that the reflection on the surface might not be 100% perfect, but again, I might be wrong.
      I have the Savage 'Heavy Weight', it kills a lot of light so I would like to try the 'medium', hard to find here in Sweden though...

      I can not say for sure, have not tested all the 5 TS lenses. I have the old 90mm Canon TS lens and that one works good for products. Probably I would go for the new 90mm TS. If you're shooting with a 1.6 crop factor camera I might go for the 50mm... but probably not :)

    • @botvidsson
      @botvidsson  3 года назад +1

      Hi Stephen, well the should be reflected in the watch but you need to have them at the correct distans. If you have a big diffusion over the watch you can also just place the cap on top of the diffusion. But the diffusion must be very close to the watch so it will cover the whole face of the watch.

    Dear Martin, Greetings from Canada. I have a couple of questions.
    (1) What frame are you using above the watch to shoot the watch? I know you are using Savage Translum heavy, but is the frame a Chimera 72x72" Standard Panel Frame?
    (2) And if so, did you remove the material and just use the translum as the diffuseer?
    (3) Lastly, did you use 2 C stands to hold the frame?
    (I'm almost a coffee supporter, as long as I don't go bankrupt during the Covid crisis) Pat

    • @botvidsson
      @botvidsson  4 года назад

      Hello Pat! It's a Matthews frame, I think I have a link in my Amazon shop, you find it in the description under all videos.
      I got the frame without any diffusion or black fabric, then I put on the Savage, it's NOT a good solution, it works but not perfect to use gaffa to attach the diffusion.
      I just use 1 c-stand, the frame has a metal pin that fits into the c-stand arm.
      Thanks for the support Pat, stay safe!

      Thanks, that Seiko shot was made during a watch photography master class I had. Probably I should re-shoot the shot and record a video for this channel. It is a very popular photo, so popular that the biggest watch seller in Sweden stole the image for there web site 😂

    • @hardyboi1593
      @hardyboi1593 3 года назад

      @@botvidsson multi shot camera/mode means camera will do the focusing all by itself ?? for the stack ?? and u get many images but the focus is just shifted ??

    • @botvidsson
      @botvidsson  3 года назад

      @@hardyboi1593 The Hasselblad multishot cameras take multiple shots (separate RGB) and put them together to one image with outstanding sharpness and color quality.
      Nowadays the Hasselblad software Phocus can also do what you are saying, do automated focus stacking. In this video this function did not exist so if I did a focus sacking I moved the focus manually to get the stack.

      Leon@videoxfactor.com, I'm putting together a studio in my garage it's small about 20' x 14' should work. I love the format and editing of your videos, but, maybe, throwing up some info on screen, about setup or details on a product used in your studio, Thanks! Have a great Holiday Season my friend!

      Hi again, I use the white... I think. It's called Savage transom heavy weight. Think there's only one? I want to buy and test the medium because the heavy weight is so thick, kills a lot of light.

      Hi Anthony, yes a tracing paper will work just fine, the only thing is that it might have a yellow tone to it so make sure to white balance correct.
