Been binge watching all of your videos this week. I love watching you go through the process on each shoot. Incredibly valuable information...and thanks for presenting it with a sense of humor! 🙌
Thanks for your smart guidance for this chapter of watch photography, if you hadn't mentioned that the reflective blur on the glass needs to be covered with a simple piece of black cap, i would have thought that the flare on the glass of all watches is inevitable. thanks again
Love your teaching style .Just created custom RONAN2 rain cover system. Now I need to shoot my product shots. All black carbon fibre frame and clear windows , so many contours of black areas. Hey, This would make a great video tutorial. Maybe Ronan will sponsor it! So much to do. Cheers, Lori Longstaff
All great videos !!! I can hardly believe my first steps into product photography were a complete mess, a quintessence of all existing mistakes (and some extra), a total absence of process and method, a I-shoot-so-I-get-a-picture attitude. Quite hilarious when I think of it... years later. You put the dots on the "i"s... and do it with tons of talent/skills/inspiration. Many thank-yous, well deserved !
apart from the fact that you're using a Hasselblad with a tilt-shift lens :D but as you've mentioned, you can achive the similar result with focus stacking :)
Another fantastic video with some great tips and tricks. I will definitely be trying some of these out thank you, and once again your presenting style makes for very easy watching. Top channel! 🙏💯

I can not say for sure, have not tested all the 5 TS lenses. I have the old 90mm Canon TS lens and that one works good for products. Probably I would go for the new 90mm TS. If you're shooting with a 1.6 crop factor camera I might go for the 50mm... but probably not :)

@@botvidsson Still not sure how this works? Is this using multi exposure setting in the Canon? And how are you using this to enhance the final shot. Nice tutorial btw!
@@SpikeColgate In this video I'm actually using the Hasselblad Multishot camera. Don't mind the multi exposure, it's a special thing for some Hasselblad cameras. Just takes 4 shots and then automatically stack the together. Thanks!
Once again an excellent video. It's very rewarding to see your videos. The simplicity of its light set is proof that it is not necessary to use a large number of tools to obtain excellent results, knowing the behavior of light the simple one becomes effective. Is that diffuser you're using from Rosco? Do you know the Rosco 3026 model? or is it very transparent? Do you think you would get the same result? grateful
Hi Daniel and thanks for the kind words. It's not Rosco but they might have a similar one. I use Savage, see all info on my gear page: www.botvidsson.se/gear It might work with a regular diffusion plastic. The only worry I have is that the reflection on the surface might not be 100% perfect, but again, I might be wrong. I have the Savage 'Heavy Weight', it kills a lot of light so I would like to try the 'medium', hard to find here in Sweden though...

Love all your videos, really fun and informative. How do you stand the large plexiglass please? I want to do it for clear plexiglass to have white background underneath but I think if I use superclamp it will snap. Thank you
In this shot the plexi are laying on the keyboard stands. I think you can use superclamps, the plexi board is very flexible. (Not sure I understood your question 100% :)
@@botvidsson Thank you, I will try super clamps. I want to try this (skip to last 20 seconds) ruclips.net/video/boD3zQUg5e4/видео.html for clear plexi shooting table with background underneath. Really look forward to seeing more videos from you, always a treat! Best wishes.

Hi again, I use the white... I think. It's called Savage transom heavy weight. Think there's only one? I want to buy and test the medium because the heavy weight is so thick, kills a lot of light.
Dear Martin, Greetings from Canada. I have a couple of questions. (1) What frame are you using above the watch to shoot the watch? I know you are using Savage Translum heavy, but is the frame a Chimera 72x72" Standard Panel Frame? (2) And if so, did you remove the material and just use the translum as the diffuseer? (3) Lastly, did you use 2 C stands to hold the frame? (I'm almost a coffee supporter, as long as I don't go bankrupt during the Covid crisis) Pat
Hello Pat! It's a Matthews frame, I think I have a link in my Amazon shop, you find it in the description under all videos. I got the frame without any diffusion or black fabric, then I put on the Savage, it's NOT a good solution, it works but not perfect to use gaffa to attach the diffusion. I just use 1 c-stand, the frame has a metal pin that fits into the c-stand arm. Thanks for the support Pat, stay safe!

Hi Stephen, well the should be reflected in the watch but you need to have them at the correct distans. If you have a big diffusion over the watch you can also just place the cap on top of the diffusion. But the diffusion must be very close to the watch so it will cover the whole face of the watch.
