I've always preferred Jasper to Banff because it is less commercialized. Glad you made it safe to the hotel. The road can get seriously bad in winter. I've driven it when there were sections of road that had 3 metres of snow on each side with just the road winding through the walls of snow. Enjoy.
If i get behind a plough i find a spot to stop to let it get ahead. And when it’s socked in overcast take high dynamic range photos and equalize the histogram. You’ll be amazed. There’s a lot of detail and texture hidden from our eyes because of the huge contrast but equalizing the histogram draws it out.
So beautiful, thanks for sharing! One of my favourite places on Earth, and so lucky to be able to enjoy Banff, Jasper, Waterton, Yoho, Kananaskis - and all the other parks - in very distinct seasons! Winter is my favourite in the Rockies!
I was channel surfing oneday on RUclips, and I came across a channel on Canadian trains. Then Canada then this guy takemytripdotcom, then Canmore Alberta then, the Icefields then I came across your channel. I love it and canada trains and the country are one of the reasons I wish to relocate to Alberta. When I do come there, I'm going to drive the Icefields to Lake Louise then on to Jasper. I only wish to do all of this in the Wintertime. Thank you and I will subscribe to your channel.
I'm glad you finally got a chance to visit Jasper, it's too bad the weather didn't cooperate on the way there, I hope it was better during your stay. I'm excited to see what you did there, I know there are a lot of hiking trails with waterfalls in Jasper, lots of mountain trails, Mt. Edith being my favourite, there is also the Fairmont in Jasper which is obviously quite expensive, but definitely worth stopping by. Then there's Pyramid lake, Maligne lake and the Miette Hot Springs. Something else that just occurred to me...I don't know if this is something you would be interested in or not, but if you want to do some more exploring of western Canada, there is a train line that runs from Edmonton to Vancouver and stops in Jasper and Kamloops. It's quite a scenic route. I'm not sure how much it costs, but it is a nice, relaxing way to travel. If that's ever something you would want to do you can find the details on Via Rail's website.
Thank you for sharing. The landscape is absolutely amazing! I wanted to ask if you're familiar with heated wear for winter, do you use them yourselves? Tried to find any video about them, only promotional ones.
I can't wait to do the Jasper road trip, but am thinking I might have to wait for spring. Did you find the road conditions were okay in the snow? I'm assuming you have winter tires on?
We learned today, always take hot coffee, water, blankets, a book, snacks and we be good....maybe we shall take a camping toilet along....? Mmmmm oh that reminds me, pack shovel and some wood to place under tyres...eh
hi! amazing video! im just about to take this road in March... did you use snow tire (snowflake symbol) or regular S+M? i'm having quiet a hard time to find a car rental office that rents this type of tires.... thank you!!

Spoiler alert: we had the same on the way back 😭 but IN Jasper things were great! Stay tuned

I think I prefer winter in the Rockies too. They're just extra magical in the snow!
Hi Lily, you are amazing and thank you so much for sharing this video. The view from the bridge was absolutely stunning. Take care.

Damn I feel chilly even watching this on my cellphone.
It wasn't too bad!

We saw so many snow clearing trucks both ways so I believe even in bad conditions that road is well taken care of!
the northern lights can be seen in Alberta Province? Have you ever seen them??
Alberta is a great place to see them but I haven't seen the lights yet :(

Hello
что у вас с медведями? не опасно? а то в Сибирских лесах активизировались тигры, медведи вообще норма...
Летом много. Мы носим спрей с собой от медведей, когда ездим в горы.
Never trust the weather in the parkway. The icefield make its own decision on the weather.
