If you do end up playing the game as a new player, I'd recommend checking out Deity's guide for new players. You don't have to keep up with it exactly since he moves pretty fast but it gives u a general idea of how to progress and enter pvp as quickly as possible. Among all gacha games, I think epic 7 does pvp the best
How does E7 do PvP? Because the idea of gacha and PvP sound like a fucking nightmare (not to mention how likely powercreep is to happen when ego and pride get added to the "do I pull" equation).
^ please run those guides as they are extremely helpful and laid down a good foundation for a new player. as well as, letting you understand that you can get away with a lot on just the free gear lv78/85 you get from time to time.
One of my favorite things about Epic 7 is the frequent balance patches they do. Instead of releasing characters and never touching them again, the dev team keeps rebalancing characters constantly, even giving some full reworks. And not just high rarity characters, many 3* characters are rebalanced to at least have a niche use, and some even receive some sort of "evolved" form you can unlock that makes them really good. It's not like the balance is perfect, the scythe lady was pretty bad after they nerfed her when I played and from the video it seems like she hasn't improved, but I like how the devs try to make all characters have at least something they are good at, even if it's ver niche, it was very refreshing from a gacha game.
All i can say, took breaks from many gachas like genshin etc, never took a break from E7 in 5 years. It is extremely f2p friendly as I have reached endgame (including top 2000) on multiple free accounts
True, its pretty chill for someone like me who doesn't have a lot of time in their hands. Even as a casual i can be consistent champ RTA and in top 30 Asia guild. I mained Genshin and PGR which were no doubt good games but, it felt like playing them took too much time out of my day and needed my full attention so i had to eventually drop them. E7 is quite convenient for me since i can just log in, claim some energy, run hunts on auto in the background, do Guildwars and call it a day.
I've played E7 on and off since almost 1.5 years ago. I absolutely love it and hate it at the same time. It's great how generous it is wijth 5-star RGB characters and if you play long enough you'll even have some ML 5s. Progressing through the pve content, especially early on is really fun. The problem is that it is extremely repetitive and grindy. like stamina regenerates 1 every 4 minutes and you get a free extra 350 or more per day. There are so many different things you are expected to always be farming in order to raise up characters. It's mostly hunts (gear), which is like artifacts in genshin, except there's 6 slots instead of 5 and the game is PVP focused so min-maxing and whaling to farm faster and more matters. also the prices for anything paid are absurd. $30 for a lame skin, or $50 for an actually good one. there are like 20-25 packs in the shop, most of which are for character upgrade materials and a lot of them are $50 or $100 USD. and if you were using some of a material to upgrade something the game has pop ups advertising 'limited time' packs to sell you more of that material. Like the core pvp gameplay of drafting heroes to put together a strategy and try to outplay each other is cool, and progressing through the main story or some event stages or abyss floors can be cool with figuring out a team setup or working around a fight with unique mechanics. but the fact is 94% of the time you have E7 open in the mid-late game you are sitting auto-battling hunts (for gear crafting materials) and another 5% is autobattling Unrecorded History (story stages) or spirit alter for character leveling materials. and at the end of it all, you know you'll catch up / finish the PvE content, and you won't be able to touch the veterans and whales in PVP because of how much dupes and gear quality matter.
Been playing this game since 2019 until now and I must say that, Epic Seven has IMPROVED A LOT. Yes, A LOT. The QoL changes is very consistente and gameplay changing. Yes it has a PvP aspect but the thing is, the PvP rewards is atually good. Until now, the highest rank I've reached in Arena is Challenger but like veterans always say, you get to experience vacation at Challenger rank as most playeras there rarely attack you so it's like a guaranteed 600 skystones every week. I don't even touch the Real-Time PvP there yet I still have a lot of currencies gained. Epic Seven has always been generous with rewards, free characters, and the 4* here as hella useful. It has a lot of endgame content and not to mention, the mobs in each story quests gets challenging to face. The story is also good too and well-written. To compare it with HSR which is also a popular turn-based game, I quite prefer the features and contents here in E7 than HSR. HSR is a PvE focused turn-based game which is not bad and caters well those who are not into PvP but what makes me prefer E7 more is that, I get to enjoy both PvE and PvP aspect of the game without being pressured much. Also, E7 has been generous as well in giving out free stamina (trailblaze power/resin) and leifs (fragile resin). I even have mine overcapped always and yet I don't run out of Leifs XD. Very newbie friendly in fact I envy some of the newbie rewards 'cause they are indeed a great headstart for new players. It may be overwhelming at first but you'll eventually get it as you progress. BIGGEST PLUS POINTS IS THE COMMUNITY. Very helpful and healthy.
specter tenebria is the best choice for waifu and meta players. she might look ugly now but you can always get her skin for free with a little bit of time. her skin is godly

Genshin was my first gacha game I left it cuz i was burned out as hell and played starrail but ended up with epic 7.. From my experience epic 7 is way better than the rest of the games.
i have been playing it ever since, very fun game, very f2p friendly (unless you want to compete in worlds championship), the visuals are amazing, the characters are beautiful and the pvp is awesome.
epic seven is pretty f2p friendly, im completely f2p and i can hit the "diamond" (champion) rank easily every season in ranked (rta) ive been playing genshin/arknights/epic seven everyday for more less 3 years and im pretty happy with the way all my accounts are.
Is hitting diamond really easy? I only ever do the 10 first matches from time to time in RTA and I find it really hard to win against all those meta characters with 290-320 speed ._.
played the game since launch.. 5 year playing and i dare say.. this is the longest game i ever play.. genshin im burnout after 3 year or so. alot of game ive played too like Alchemy Star, Alchemist code, honkai starrail, arknight, seven knight, memento mori etc.. but so far, e7 is the best game for me.. im not a PVP maniac, nor PVE master. but i like customizing my unit.. customization is a content too
The honeymoon phase is great but it's mainly a PvP game. I learned that long ago, the whole point of progressing is just for PvP and I hate that in gacha games.
Unlike Honkai, that makes it very expensive to stay competitive. Spent thousands on genshin for the first year but the meta keeps changing and forcing you to whale. People who say it’s f2p friendly have never seen the top ranked players lol
Personally I think the pvp meta is very f2p friendly. Especially if you're not super into climbing or only want masters for the skin. People always point to ml5s being op when like half of them are outclassed by RGB 5 stars.
I think e7 still f2p friendly i almost 97 percent on my journal being f2p and i still enjoy not like other gatcha no freebie talk about gi and honkai milking whales

If everything is instant, then its not gacha grinding game. People will get bored really fast too because you dont have that good feeling after grinding and getting a good piece.

For a guy who mostly play in mobile I need a game that I don't need to watch my phone's screen run the same shit for 4 hrs just to upgrade my character skills. It's a turned based MOBILE game and it's 2024 bud who enjoys burning your battery percentage farming mats and gears. I prefer using my precious time on PVP or PVE stuff that's interactive not like farming the same farming spot for hours.

If you only play this game for fun, then dont push yourself on the gear. Just get some not bad gear and proceed with story or something. If you want to be competitive, then grind. Because everybody else did that and they didnt complain like you.
I quit this game a couple months back after spending about three years with it because there's just too much grinding and you cannot get away with a small A team for PvE/PvP due to the sheer amount of different mechanics/gimmicks you need to be able to counter, which means you have to gear a ton of characters. They've been taking baby steps with the general QoL changes but as others have mentioned, you're still going to end up spending around 90% of your time just auto-grinding hunts and running on a treadmill in hopes of getting substat rolls good enough to make a character usable.
I remember trying to play this game a year ago. The farming grind is too much that I quit. I spend like 5 hrs farming mats to skill up my units and I can't even max 1 skill. for just 1 unit.
I'm playing this game for absolutely no reason but curiosity and I have to say, the game tries to help you, but it still remains pretty confusing to how you want to achieve things unless you read Deity's guide. And it's hardcore if you follow it, it basically becomes your full day time job and you don't have time for that.This game is farming hell, worse than Genshin/HSR. It's funny that it's way easier to get characters, plus the many free 10 summons you get per day on events but holy hell is the gearing painful. At some point you farm unrecorded history for hours just to buy catalysts to upgrade a minor stat on your character and to be able to promote your characters which you want for stats, which is mainly to complete a hunt challenge quest that eventually gives you moderate to big rewards (they give entire sets though). Just farming farming farming, to be able to have a team to farm the farming content that drops gear material that allows you to craft gear...
Some other important E7 facts: whaling alsmost doesnt benefit you in this game. If you pull a certain character multiple times it will increase 1 single stat for the unit itself, but thats it. No constelations or anything. Some artifacts however are a bit p2w but the difference isnt that high
?? as a beginner/going through the PvE yeah sure. mid-late game farming gear faster and more = better gear, and the increased stat from character dupes means you have a huge advantage. like a 5-star character with crit chance at max dupes starts with 16.8% extra crit chance, which is the equivalent of about 3 rolls on the gear which can go into attack / crit damage / speed instead.
For Season 1 ML Blessing here is a gist of what each choice will get you (Mainly Geared toward PVP): Arbiter Vildred (Arby): Arby is a good stage clearer in the beginning of the game to get through content fast in PVE Adventure but falls off in Hard / late PVE and PVP, RTA mainly in the long run. Even though he is decent against AOE Cleave there are units that have the Ability “cannot revive” like Briar Witch Iseria which will cancel Arby’s revive gimmick if Briar Witch is still on the field or “extinction” is another key word that will not let you revive period on Kill Like Top Model Luluca’s Skill 3 nuke. Specter Tenebria (Stene): Stene is in my opinion the best unit to pick in season 1. She’s good in Hard PVE Content and is still strong in the PVP meta atm. She has undespellable Stealth so units like Milim can’t remove her stealth and also has access to the best mage Artifact in the game Tagahels Ancient Book (Book). Ruele of Light: she’s an ok Soulweaver, has a Single target full revive and gives invincibility for 1 turn but at the current Moment not really relevant in RTA and don’t recommend picking her as your Selective choice. There are better Choices if you want a good SW. Dark Corvus: Dark Corvus is ok in both PVE and PVP more favorable for a specific mode called “Guild Wars”. He is immune to Stun and has “extinction” on S3 and is an HP Scaling tank. Judge Kise or I call her (Jugs Kise): she use to be OP in PVP Paired with Axillary Lots (ALots) and Challenger Dominiel (CDom) back a few years ago. She Resets Skill Cooldowns and it’s an AOE Reset. But Now JKise + ALots + CDom is not viable and Kise is only good in PVP not PVE if I had to pick one of the PVs. Overall she’s not good rn in the current Meta. Martial Artist Ken: He is only good in PVP and is ok but not great. He counter attacks when someone lands a Crit on him and is guaranteed to Crit if he successfully hits the target. Still needs a buff atm imo. Hopefully this helps. If I had to Pick one Pick Specter Tenebria (Stene) final choice.
what i hate the most as new player is how difficult it is to get good gear pieces and the freaking old school storage limits!!! You will have a hard time storing things if you dont dont use GEMS to buy more storage
@@johnmc9073It is indeed difficult at the start BUT there are plenty of free gears new players get to get them started (compared to the first year where level 57 are used 😅) and complete hunt and the hunt web event to get a 5* hero specialized in one. For inventory, sell useless gear. Don’t hoard them. If you’re unsure, use the other gear storage if you really don’t want to use your skystones.

I absolutely dread gearing because of how much rng checks there are present in gearing. from getting the right substat, the right mainstat, the right rolls on the substant you want, and getting high rolls. You can farm for weeks and get the absolutes perfect piece with four high roll substats you want and then ruin it in a span of seconds because it low rolls 3x. Its absolutely frustrating and i hope they really improve/make it less painful since its one of the major flaws in this game.

Cool arts, cool turn based combat, but once the honeymoon phase is over, it's just RNG gear grinding and leaving your phone/emu on for hours every single day and getting nothing you want or need. Still a good few months of fun though.
Well it's been there for a long time ofc it's going to be generous Old games is just like that. I remember the 1st time I played it back like their 1st yr it's not as generous as todays. The game is fun and the graphics is great and somewhat comforting for me. But the farming grind is hell, Tried playing it twice cause of the good points it has but the Grind makes me quit. They should add a lot of quality of life features to lessen the time to grind for mats and gears then this is going to be a perfect turn based gacha mobile game. A game named Artery Gear is inspired from Epic 7 but they got better QoL features sadly I quitted the game too cause I just don't feel it with Chibi characters.
After starting epic seven I legit quit Genshin and it’s been my main game for 2 years now. It does a ton of things right and the best part is the company listens. The community is great here as well which made the experience so much better. Epic seven does so many things right that I wish a lot of other ga had follow.

@@T8-TR as long as youre not aiming for like top1000 or some shit you can get far enough to get the max rewards (rta skin) pretty damn easily.

I'm playing this game for absolutely no reason but curiosity and I have to say, the game tries to help you, but it still remains pretty confusing to how you want to achieve things unless you read Deity's guide. And it's hardcore if you follow it, it basically becomes your full day time job and you don't have time for that.This game is farming hell, worse than Genshin/HSR. It's funny that it's way easier to get characters, plus the many free 10 summons you get per day on events but holy hell is the gearing painful. At some point you farm unrecorded history for hours just to buy catalysts to upgrade a minor stat on your character and to be able to promote your characters which you want for stats, which is mainly to complete a hunt challenge quest that eventually gives you moderate to big rewards (they give entire sets though). Just farming farming farming, to be able to have a team to farm the farming content that drops gear material that allows you to craft gear...

Some other important E7 facts: whaling alsmost doesnt benefit you in this game. If you pull a certain character multiple times it will increase 1 single stat for the unit itself, but thats it. No constelations or anything. Some artifacts however are a bit p2w but the difference isnt that high

mid-late game farming gear faster and more = better gear,
and the increased stat from character dupes means you have a huge advantage. like a 5-star character with crit chance at max dupes starts with 16.8% extra crit chance, which is the equivalent of about 3 rolls on the gear which can go into attack / crit damage / speed instead.

For Season 1 ML Blessing here is a gist of what each choice will get you (Mainly Geared toward PVP):
Arbiter Vildred (Arby): Arby is a good stage clearer in the beginning of the game to get through content fast in PVE Adventure but falls off in Hard / late PVE and PVP, RTA mainly in the long run. Even though he is decent against AOE Cleave there are units that have the Ability “cannot revive” like Briar Witch Iseria which will cancel Arby’s revive gimmick if Briar Witch is still on the field or “extinction” is another key word that will not let you revive period on Kill Like Top Model Luluca’s Skill 3 nuke.
Specter Tenebria (Stene): Stene is in my opinion the best unit to pick in season 1. She’s good in Hard PVE Content and is still strong in the PVP meta atm. She has undespellable Stealth so units like Milim can’t remove her stealth and also has access to the best mage Artifact in the game Tagahels Ancient Book (Book).
Ruele of Light: she’s an ok Soulweaver, has a Single target full revive and gives invincibility for 1 turn but at the current Moment not really relevant in RTA and don’t recommend picking her as your Selective choice. There are better Choices if you want a good SW.
Dark Corvus: Dark Corvus is ok in both PVE and PVP more favorable for a specific mode called “Guild Wars”. He is immune to Stun and has “extinction” on S3 and is an HP Scaling tank.
Judge Kise or I call her (Jugs Kise): she use to be OP in PVP Paired with Axillary Lots (ALots) and Challenger Dominiel (CDom) back a few years ago. She Resets Skill Cooldowns and it’s an AOE Reset. But Now JKise + ALots + CDom is not viable and Kise is only good in PVP not PVE if I had to pick one of the PVs. Overall she’s not good rn in the current Meta.
Martial Artist Ken:
He is only good in PVP and is ok but not great. He counter attacks when someone lands a Crit on him and is guaranteed to Crit if he successfully hits the target. Still needs a buff atm imo.

what i hate the most as new player is how difficult it is to get good gear pieces and the freaking old school storage limits!!! You will have a hard time storing things if you dont dont use GEMS to buy more storage
@@johnmc9073It is indeed difficult at the start BUT there are plenty of free gears new players get to get them started (compared to the first year where level 57 are used 😅) and complete hunt and the hunt web event to get a 5* hero specialized in one.
For inventory, sell useless gear. Don’t hoard them. If you’re unsure, use the other gear storage if you really don’t want to use your skystones.
@@johnmc9073but unlike Mihoyo games where "Gems" is sparse, e7 has a lot of it giving out free and very frequently. Everyone said that it a waste but I still do it and to this day I see no problem in doing so :v

@@johnmc9073 Even as an end game veteran player, gearing is always an issue. I absolutely dread gearing because of how much rng checks there are present in gearing. from getting the right substat, the right mainstat, the right rolls on the substant you want, and getting high rolls. You can farm for weeks and get the absolutes perfect piece with four high roll substats you want and then ruin it in a span of seconds because it low rolls 3x. Its absolutely frustrating and i hope they really improve/make it less painful since its one of the major flaws in this game.

Cool arts, cool turn based combat, but once the honeymoon phase is over, it's just RNG gear grinding and leaving your phone/emu on for hours every single day and getting nothing you want or need. Still a good few months of fun though.

Well it's been there for a long time ofc it's going to be generous Old games is just like that. I remember the 1st time I played it back like their 1st yr it's not as generous as todays. The game is fun and the graphics is great and somewhat comforting for me. But the farming grind is hell, Tried playing it twice cause of the good points it has but the Grind makes me quit. They should add a lot of quality of life features to lessen the time to grind for mats and gears then this is going to be a perfect turn based gacha mobile game. A game named Artery Gear is inspired from Epic 7 but they got better QoL features sadly I quitted the game too cause I just don't feel it with Chibi characters.
I'd say its a prototype game for a company that's in its early phase of growth like hoyo.

After starting epic seven I legit quit Genshin and it’s been my main game for 2 years now. It does a ton of things right and the best part is the company listens. The community is great here as well which made the experience so much better. Epic seven does so many things right that I wish a lot of other ga had follow.
