I realize this video is from one year ago, but I just had to watch this series again to refresh my failing memory on how to create these frames. You are an awesome source of fantastic information. Although I am not a huge race car fan, I am attempting to build my own frames for some of my new builds. I will be attempting to build a pickup that appears to be on air bags, with the ability to move from low rider stance to off road stance. Your videos on the frames is going to help me achieve that as it shows all the various parts to the frame. Thank you so much for sharing!
Awesome tips and tricks Mark - love what you’re doing- thanks for the different perspective and approach on taking a detailed kit to the next level. I can’t find episode 3 , dang it!
This series on scratch building a chassis is great. I haven’t built a model in many years, but I’ve got the itch,. Maybe a video on what types of glue you use and why you would choose it for the parts/pieces?
Hi Mark, thank you for doing the detail work on the chassis. I have built probably 50 NASCAR's out-of-the-box, nothing compared to what you and Clay do. I really am enjoying this session of scratch building a chassis. I have built promods gassers and also just straight superstocks scratch bill. But I'm really enjoying watching you guys build your NASCARs. Now I have the itch to build a Richard Petty which I have in my collection. So looks like I'll be building right after you do. Thank you Mark.
Fascinating to see my brother. Really enjoy watching this come together. Looking forward to part 3. Congratulations on the thousand plus subscribers. Keep up the great work! Love you, to God be all the glory! ♥️👍😁
Big thanks Mike! I'm a big Pro Stock fan myself. Thinking about a PS chassis too! Probably brass. Thanks again for watching! Being a big Petty fan, I look forward to seeing your build!
Mark,i'm learning here about the certain angles to cut to make the front & rear clip etc. Thank you for giving the # of degrees for each piece (20,30 etc.) Everything measuring out nicely front to rear & diagonally. I'm having a little problem keeping things level (sides or rockers sit flat but front corner sticking up a little) like a pretzel. Thanks
Thank you Shane!! Glad it’s helpful to you. I’ve built five of these chassis. (The first one was not pretty) Keep it up my friend you’ll get it!! Have a great week!!
Hi Mr Mark! Simply amazing detail and fabrication work! Phenomenal! Your talents and previous experience in the 1:1 world and translating them to scale , then taking the time to share them with those of us who aspire to produce something remotely as good, are deeply appreciated sir. A huge THANK YOU! Have a safe and great day!
Talking about dremel melting styrene. I switched over to a nail “drill”. They’re fairly inexpensive, compared to “professional” flexible shaft grinders, and with a very low rpm and a foot pedal/switch, you just can’t go wrong.
Great video Mark. The frame construction is very informative and how you build the front suspension is awesome. Takes alot of imagination to make that work. Your eye for detail is awesome.
Another great video!! I'm learning so many neat techniques from you that I can apply to my builds. I don't do stock cars, although my first build, after my 50+ year hiatus, was Ernie Ivans Kodak car which I built pretty much from the box. I think I told you I'm currently rebuilding a 1:120 scale B-29 that I had built back in the 60's. If you remember, I told you I as I was taking it apart the bombardier fell into my blackhole under the bench. Anyway, some of the techniques you're showing will assist me in fabricating some missing gun turrets, a propeller and all landing gears. Thank you so much and please keep up the great video's. I always look forward to them.
Many thanks my friend! I do remember that! Glad the info is helpful for you. I hope you find scratch building as fun as I do! Thanks again for watching!
Home resin 3D printers are getting so cheap, I think they’re going to be a must-have tool in a few years. Instead of creating a model file and uploading it to Shapeways, more people will sell those files directly to modelers to print themselves.
Congratulations. I just started building scale models again. Did this when I was a kid. Now, I’m an old man and enjoying this hobby again. Can you tell me where I get get a fuel pump for 1/25 scale cars? Or do I have to just make one? Thanks
Amazing work. I love your method of doing the truck arm mounts and spring buckets. I’ve done a crude method of making working truck arm system work. I’m working on Smokey’s 69 Torino right now, and I’m going to use your method for spring buckets and control arm mounts and make my own upper control arms. Thanks! Keep the info flowing. Love it.👍👍 ps. Could you please put a link or the makers name for the fuel cell assembly. Thanks.
Thanks brother! Would love to see the Smokey car when you finish! Yes sir. I will be adding the "Shapeways" link to the comments shortly. Thanks again for watching!
Great series...
Thank you Ken!!

Thank you!! Sounds like a fun project! The basics can be used for any type of chassis. Have fun!! Email me some pictures when it’s finished!
Congratulations on your 1000 subs....enjoying the videos.... Larry...

The way you use the rod to fill gaps is an awesome idear. I'll be using that as well with my other gap filling methods. Thanks!
