  • I lost 100 pounds in one year when I was 14 years old. I went from being the bullied fat girl to becoming a model. I gained more confidence, more friends, and was living life the way I'd imagined....but it was far from perfect.
There were many unexpected consequences of losing weight, some that took me years to process. This is my story of how my 100 pound weight loss affected me both mentally and physically....
Check out my book 1 Year 100 Pounds for a tough love how to guide for weight loss and transforming your life!

Interesting perspective, I am currently at the most unhealthiest weight I’ve ever been. I’m in the process of trying to lose weight and become healthier, but I am extremely fearful of how I will be treated. I’m worried that the positives of losing weight will contribute to body dysmorphia & eating disorders. It hurts knowing how fatphobia can affect our society.

No, never let other people stop you from doing what you want to do, especially something that is healthy for you! It is disappointing to see the way society treats you depending on how you look but once you understand that you're kind of ahead of the game. I think you just have to treat your transformation experience as a way to rule out who are genuine people and who aren't.

Love the backdrop with the water. We live on a water lot too. What state are you in?
I'm 60 now and I can tell you that there are still mean "girls" in my age group too. I've learned to spend more time alone and life is more peaceful.

Thanks! I love living on the water. We're in Florida so there is water everywhere haha! Ugh, unfortunately I believe that there are still mean girls your age. The older I get the more I realize that "adults" don't always act like adults.

Thank you for sharing your journey and highlighting the highs and lows that aren’t typically talked about in this space ✨
As someone who has always been average size, I gained a lot of weight due to stress eating and I have recently decided to end that lifestyle. I’m in the phase of getting so much attention for my weight loss and although I enjoy it, I am really conflicted on how to respond to those who did treat me differently when I was at a larger weight.

Thank you for watching! Congrats on getting healthy. Ugh, I get it though. Crazy how weight loss can help you see who are genuine people and who aren't. At least for me I think it has made me more wary of people and who I get close to. In a way going through the transformation helps you see who you can trust and who you can't.

it all comes down to nutrition literacy. there are so many adults who are having kids who are NOT literate in the importance of nutrition/physical exercise and then pass down these habits to their kids. I grew up in the early 2000's with a fad-diet mom who ate very little and ate junk i.e. 100 calorie packs and it was only until a few months ago that i've truly gained more knowledge of nutrition... i'm 29. that is almost three decades of me not understanding why i was gaining or losing weight, why i was eating healthy but still felt bad, and overall not knowing where to go for this kind of information. the worst part is that its not taught in schools either, its perpetuated by what is being served in the cafeteria i.e. fried foods, pizza, JUNK. its a worldwide problem. people will only change when they are forced to or are extremely unhappy with themselves.

Yes I agree. Unfortunately it's like there are two extremes: either going crazy on eating junk or not exercising, or going crazy on calorie restriction and fad diets. Both aren't healthy. There is a way to find balance but like you said, we're not always taught how to do that.
