My best friend, With Love, Kristina also made a video today about Budget Christmas living and you should check that out next: ruclips.net/video/dXQPhdlN9KI/видео.htmlsi=WtQ27XkmBp8i_v3L
I LOVE YOUUUUU!!!
35 years ago my husband had been made redundant, there was a recession(when isn't there) and all the kids presents were home made and I made a tree skirt. My daughter will not allow that skirt, made from scrap, to be disposed of. Kids don't see the flaws lol
I love that!
I love this story, it is so nostalgic.❤❤
Your daughter is a smart woman!
@@ThePatchin many years ago, I found a velveteen skirt at a thrift store. Good quality fabric, handmade, and far too small. But that fabric made a beautiful tree skirt, that a daughter now uses. They sure treasure those things that have the sweetest memories. Thank you for your shared memory, which brought mine back.
My most precious piece of jewelry is my grandma's childhood Alice in Wonderland ring from the 30s that I had resized. It isnt worth anything, and I dont care. Memories are worth more than materials.
Thanks for your happy holiday video! Ho, ho, hope you’ll make filming one every year a tradition! 🐩🎄
The towel would be great for drying off your pets after the rain!
OH TOTALLY! I am sad I didn't think of that. Now to go make more for the pups.
that's such a good idea! most of the ones that are sold are made out of microfiber and I can NOT stand touching that stuff. I might try making some out of old towels I already use just for the dogs
@@littlecr3atur3 I don’t think microfibre is even as good as towelling for absorption, either. Some microfibre feels ok to me but others not so much, it’s kinda weird!
Somehow, the thing that blew my mind was sewing the stocking loop to BOTH sides of the stocking. It's the logical solution, but every stocking I've ever had was definitely only sewn to one side. 😂❤
Oh my gosh! The red stocking with the criss cross sequin tree is exactly what mine looks like!!! I am c.1956.
I'm obsessed with the Christmas tree apron on the opposite page of the hair drying gloves
the "Hand" towel looks like a fun gift.
It actually is and it works!!
I thought so too! I thought it would be great for scrunching curly hair!
Ooo hair dryer glove would b great for drying my dog off!!
I have made about 65 Christmas tree skirts over the years. Every family member has received one and I did manage to sell about 12 or so.
A nice big hand cloth like that would be great for waxing a car or pet washing! Everything came out so cute. I love that personality is steadily coming back into homes.
Waxing a car! That is a GREAT idea!
I love that you used the trees that someone tucked in with their pattern for later. The projects came out beautifully! The hand towel looks a bit silly but also looks like it might be useful for people who have trouble gripping things. Maybe a slightly smaller one to use as a washcloth?
I am sure it could be a wash cloth too.
Ok, ya got me. I've been avoiding nostalgia but ys got me. Oh well. So cute!
Sometimes a tiny bit of nostalgia is good.
If I was a regular sewer, that Fantik tool would be amazing!
Lol, I completely foresaw the full size tree skirt pattern being too large for the foot tall tree! Now for me to one day seam together the tree skirt I knit in 2020...
You can do it!
Many decades ago, I made three skirts, ornaments stockings, and every imaginable gift for my daughter and friends. I was a sewing fiend and I loved every minute of it. Now I so mainly for myself and just small gifts, but I enjoyed your video remembering when I made things for financial reasons, but to fill my soul. And now I make things to fill my souland I love watching your videos merry Christmas.
Omg it's sooo kitch i lurv it!
This makes me excited for the coming weeks and holidays! I've sadly already made my own stocking pattern and have those in progress for family this year, but I'm glad I wasn't the only one who had the idea of a nice home made stocking! :D
Oh a good homemade stocking never can go wrong.
@StephanieCanada I agree! I'm just slightly regretting volunteering to make and stuff them for everyone this year... 😂
Vintage crafts with a vintage-look tree! (I remember my grandmother's aluminum tree!) 😍
Aww I love that! My grandmother didn’t ever have an aluminum tree but I can only imagine yours was amazing!
Love the dry humor!!!
Thank you!
my mom did an angel , made with a sheet of tissue paper and a ball of tissue for the head and of course glitter
Aww I LOVE that!
You make my heart so happy! I love watching your channel
I am glad I can be a happy space online. We need them, that is for sure.
I made my kid a stocking with their name embroidered (very basically) on the cuff when they were a toddler. It is now a required part of Catmas (that is what we celebrate) it is hung on the end of their bed every Catmas eve with pride. I also made a little stuffed tannenbaum that is much loved and still cuddled.
My mom made the stockings and too!! I promise you, we cherish them ❤
The little tree skirt how adorable
Cute video. Really enjoyed this and they turned out so cute. Happy Holidays. 🎉
Thank you so much! I truly enjoyed making all of these.
Just found your channel through Kristina's video! You're great - funny, resourceful, and creative! I'm subscribing!!
Aww thank you so much! I am happy to have you here! ❤️
I. Love. The. Ridiculous trim. But like I’m a ridiculous person so 😂 these came out SO CUTE!!
Ok well the hand towel is… ummmm…. Unique? ❤😂 these are all so fun!
Thank you friend. And yes the hand towel is “unique” but it actually does work (I was just as surprised)
I took hand towels, monogrammed initials on them and then sewed them into cylinders that I stuffed with polyfill. Instant neck pillow for the tub that’s washable
Great Idea!
So cute!!❤
As I'm packing up our house for the big move, that also includes future openings of a vintage store,I found the box of vintage patterns and I enjoyed some of the Christmas crafts that they released, including the aprons and pot holders and tea cozys 😂. Man certain parts of the past I can certainly understand longing for...others not so much... And y'all know what I mean . 😉
Oh how exciting! I hope your big move is as fruitful as it is inspiring. I love moving to new places.
@StephanieCanada this is a new old place, we are moving BACK for the third time 😬 but my daughter and grandchildren call! 🤙 And we must answer and this is a temporary stay, until we decide the best place for our nonprofit. We are just trying to get started somewhere with helping people as soon as possible. Eventually we want to move to a state we've never lived in,in an area I've never lived, which I've lived both coasts, and in the southwest so we are thinking maybe, Minnesota or Illinois after new Mexico. Who knows. We just need my grandkids to finish school first
Love the tree skirt.
I love the hand towel, I am going to give it a try.
Your in Florida, right? That ridiculous red trim reminds me of sand spurs. I found some the hard way on my one and only visit to Florida. Enjoyed it immensely, except for the sand spurs.
I live in Fl. I had to look up what a sand spur was. I’ve never heard them called anything, but stickers. Wow, thanks for increasing my knowledge and vocabulary. 🐩
Love, love, love, your videos! You are fun, you’re real, you’re fantastic! Just yesterday I thought about an old sewing pattern I have from the early 70’s for a wreath and ornaments. I was considering making the ornaments for my daughter and after watching you I think I will! Once again I ❤ your videos. Merry Christmas 🎄
No worry. That 1/2 circle will be perfect for my 1/2 Christmas tree 🎄 up against my wall . Thankyou 😃
That mitt thing will encourage scrunching hair to dry it - which is ideal for curly hair!
I switched to tshirt material instead of towels though, that and the scrunching leads to the least "floof" from my hair. I like the curls and waves. The floof isn't my thing.
Oh yes! I have already used mine to absorb the bulk of water from my hair. It really does the job. And I will take all of the floof as my hair if very fine otherwise.
@ It's wonderful to find something that works well for the hair we got dealt :)
I JUST love the way this turned out, and after all, red felt screams Christmas! The felt ornaments with "bobbles" of buttons you really makes it a themed tree. 😊🎄☃
I was thinking that! i also had no desire to cut anymore tiny pieces and I have a TON of slightly cracked buttons, so it seemed like the perfect fit.
sparkle rulers 🤩
Like all your projects!
Thank you so much!
I loves this video!!!!! And the reveal at the end was fun
Thank you so much. I am so glad to bring some joy to the internet.
@@StephanieCanada ♥️♥️
You are just too amazing!!!
Aww thank you!
I do have some electric scissors (another brand) They are so handy, especially for cutting quilt batting and cutting a quilt off the longarm.
Oh true! I don't quilt but I see where it would definitely be helpful with that.
Was sent here from With Love, Kristina's channel. Diggin your fun and silly attitude ma'am! 😀❤
Aww thank you! I am so glad you are here.
That head mitten hair washcloth thing is WILD!!!!
I'd be so tempted to use metallic thread to zigzag the stocking seam.
Oh now THAT would be snazzy! You should totally give it a try!
Those items are just too cute!!! I love this video.
Aww thank you!
They turned out pretty cute. ❤😊
Thank you!
Those are all adorable, but I have to admit I got distracted by the MoreMeKnow ruler - I recognized it immediately since I sew bags more often than clothes. I don’t have to futz with fitting bags!
I have one of those silver trees and probably the same size. I grew up with a very tall aluminium tree.
Happy Holidays
Thank you! Happy holidays to you too!
Love these patterns - haven't run into any of those.
Glad to be able to provide some of the goodies for free then!
Thank you for reminding me of what Christmas used to look like. You need the colored light strobe to change the color of your aluminum tree. What about a leg lamp? If there had been such a thing (back in the early 1950's) my Daddy would have had one in full view of all of the neighbors. The neighbors would have all had one in their picture windows the next Christmas.
I was thinking that I need the color spinner light like @sewrena_
Love this. You are soooo funny.
Aww thank you
Tree skirts are circle skirts, yours was just a tiny one. In the 50’s-60’s sometimes tree skirts were worn as festive party skirts.
So I have been told... maybe I should make a silly one too.
I am kinda diggin' the hair drying mitt. I wonder if you made the hand part like a mitten would it still be effective (probably would). I have never seen such fancy-smancy electric scissors....cool.
And I even used it on my hair the next night and it worked REALLY well.
Loved the green terry, I've already checked the site, shame it's already sold 😕
Yes, sadly the bulk of the Terry already sold. That piece you saw was the left over scrap. I try to utilize every piece of fabric.
The... Hand... Towel really does seem practical though as opposed to using a full size one, especially if you are like me and have weak hands!!
Oh it really is very useful! I used it after i showered the other day and it is QUITE helpful!
ehehehe, the hand joke. The balls joke. Love the fun you bring into this, Stephanie. Thanks for the video.
Love it!
Birdy
Thank you!
All your stocking needs is sequins on the tree decoration for ornaments. Very vintage
Thank you Stephanie!!!! I was stuck for things to make for friends of mine. They are both going to get a pair of those hair drying thingies because they both have dogs who love to get super mucky! And the half tree circle skirt.... would make s super cute christmas cape for one of your puppers!
You are welcome! I love that idea for giving them to dog parents! So smart!
🥰🥰 loved them all 🥰🥰. Kisses to the goat 😂
❤❤❤❤
The first attempt at a tree skirt can become a half circle skirt for a doll.
oh true!
Kristina sent me 😊
I love the hand mitt. Does it work to dry your hair?
It really did! I used it the next night. It doesn’t get it completely dry but it does help with getting my curly hair to the damp phase as opposed to soaking wet.
Your tree is jealous of Charlie Brown's xmas tree
They need to hire you as independent contractor for their vintage assortment. I refused to buy anything over than vintage and Charm patterns. The big 3 have absolutely NOTHING I want. I buy japanese patterns for the kiddos
I wish they would because I have such a fun stash that I want to make available.
Can I ask what your pinafore is please? I really love all your outfits and would love it if you would link the pattern or video where you make them in the description of the video I'm watching? I want to go find it but you got a lot of videos man 😅😅
Oh thank you! It is actually a dress I made without a pattern while in my hotel room in this video: Making a dress in a HOTEL ROOM || DIY Pinafore from old sheets WITHOUT a pattern
ruclips.net/video/BeWgz_3EFrA/видео.html
yay for the fancy cutter when you had to use 2 hands for the glue LOL
RIGHT! Gotta save the strength for the dang glue.
Tell us about the dress that you had on while cutting the felt.
Ah that is a dress I made from bed sheets in my hotel room during an opera contract. You can watch the making of here: ruclips.net/video/BeWgz_3EFrA/видео.html
@@StephanieCanada Thanks!
i swear when I was a kid they were selling those round hand towel thingys and calling then "mane mits". Yes, i think it was a thing
Yayyyyy
A 13th on the piano? I am so jealous! Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Chopin, and others must be your friends. Again, so jealous. ( barely a 9th)
Yup.. I played quite a bit. Well, until I didn't. 😅
@StephanieCanada I still play weekly piano trios with fellow retired violinist and cellist. I am certain your life is busy, but it is so much fun to play with others. Still jelly of your fingers. 🥰
First?

All adorable crafts. Well done. When I was 4 my visiting Granny asked which artificial tree she should buy. I liked the sparkly, fuchsia-purple tensile one. So that's what she brought home from Sears. Still have the tree and ornaments.
You're making memories, Kiddo...
Oh yeah. I love this thing so much
Okay but I need to know whether it actually dries hair.
Making it out of microfiber towels you have laying around would work well too. Microfiber towels are much more gentle on hair.
It sure does help! I wouldn't say it gets it 100% there, but most of the way is good enough for me.
Who is that in the background?
That is my amazing friend and shop assistant Tina! She was filling the fabric orders for my website while I was filming.
sadness that the code did not provide a 35% off. Amazon is showing 20% off without a code
OH NO! Let me reach out to the brand and see what is going on.
Hey! I figured it out! When you go to checkout, just below your address section is the payment drop down. When you expand that section you will see the place to input the code, which does take off the extra 15%. It is a bit clunky, but it does work (thankfully).
@@StephanieCanada I had tried that before I posted. I also just tried it again. It did not work. I wish you the best with this promotion
The brand did reach back out to clarify that my code takes the total discount down to the 35% mark. They apologize for the confusion it caused.
Nice microphone 🎤 😅
Your coupon code only takes off 10%. $55.99, it only takes off $5.60
So the brand reached out and informed me that it is 35% off total. They just so happened to run a sale at this time so that is why it doesn’t look like it. The brand has already apologized for the confusion.
Wait. You had no left over fabric lying around? WHO ARE YOU
I am incredibly distracted by the woman behind you.
Well that is my amazing friend and shop assistant Tina. I run a vintage business and she was filling orders while I did the filming.
If you only talk less and explain quick and show the projects, you do all that singing and talking to Long life is short, so getting with the project and move on
Stephanie, the promo code will only get me $5.04 cents off, not 35% off. I hope you can get them to fix it.
-- Becca Klash in GA
Oh dear! I will get in contact with them and see what is going on.
Hey! The brand has reached back out and apologizes for the confusion. The code I have takes the total discount down to 35% off they told me. They ran that sale at the last minute so that is why this happened.
