OMG!! I have a chronic illness that will sadly never let me experience Everest in real life, but I live vicariously through your videos/documentaries. To those who have the ability to simply make it to Base Camp or up the Khumbu, PLEASE know there are others who absolutely applaud what you accomplish 💜! Is this a legit VR program?! Even if it’s in a beta/testing phase, it is still something I would love to participate in! Thank you for sharing this David, God Bless 🤗🙏🏻!
I left a very similar comment to yours on other videos on this channel. I also have a chronic illness, and I live with cold urticaria, which is basically being allergic to cold. I don't know why I'm so fascinated by mountains... and I'm watching and rewatching some documentaries. I makes me feel things that I think I can't describe. I think closest word really is... awe.
FINALLY a way to understand the routes and especially everything above Camp 4. That ridge has been so hard to visualize because it has the least amount of footage (for obvious reasons)
So I’m pretty ignorant to Everest and actual mountaineering in general but why is the ridge you mentioned one that has the least amount of footage? Because you’re claiming an ice wall? Or did I miss something?
@@jakejonas7366 its near the highest point there and youre in the final pushes to the summit. People are exhausted, worn out, supplies are lower, batteries are low, people are saving their camera space and power for the summit. The dead bodies. Theres a lot of reasons. There is footage of that area however now and it is incredible to see. Terrifying quite honestly. Theres one video now that is famous where climbers are climbing past a dead body in that area on a rope. The body is still attached to the rope and the line of people are climbing over the person to continue on.
This is amazing and still my fear of heights gave me a bit of anxiety just watching this. Still, this is the first time I’ve seen any VR like this and I’m thoroughly impressed.
Will the battery on my VR headset last the 18 hours I’ll have to stand in the middle of my living room in order for the crowds to clear off the Hillary Step?
@@lisaperry5999 facts. I’d also argue that the other half of those lives would be saved if friends and loved ones spent more time trying to talk common sense into semi-competent climbers trying to buy their alpinist card just because they made it to the top of Kilimanjaro and have $60k burning a hole in their pocket
@@lisaperry5999 while I agree with you there is fault to be laid at the hands of the Nepalese and Tibetan governments as well issuing permits based on a need for income rather than issuing climbing permits based on the skill of the climber applying for said permits. More and more permits are being issued every year than the year before and it’s also one of the reasons for gigantic queues on the summit and descent.
Just remember that if Everest is a dream for you then make sure you are fit enough and don't do it with a cheap company. Everst isn't technically hard as it is very high altitude. Remember the more you spend the better you will come back!!!
Hopefully there will be mods too... Imagine you have to eat your teammates to survive or you will be buried by an avalanche, imagine you finally get to the top of the mountain and suddenly you hear a voice: .. ..."Your vaccination card please"...
There were piles of people who had to be airlifted out of base camps due to catching covid on Everest. I wouldn’t want to catch covid laying in my bed eating Cheetos let alone on the worlds tallest mountain from sea level.
Thank you for making this available, it is cool, but I have to say, its a bit disappointing. I was hoping for more for VR these days. I dont use vr and this is the first vr video ive watched but I was hoping it would be a bit more in depth by now. I look forward to how good it gets in the near future
Wonderful! It's like you're there! Fantastic job!👏👍

It is, it’s on steam and called Everest vr. To be honest it’s not great but it is a wonderful feeling standing at the top as the cool music plays

it is. It is also available on PSVR(Playstation 4) and PSVR2 (Playstation 5)

My heart was in my throat watching this. The anxiety and amazement I felt simultaneously watching this experience. Wow 🤩.
if you have a playstation 4 or 5 and the psvr 1 or 2 you can actually play the game yourself
Very cool VR experience. Your videos are always a delight. Thank you!

Virtual is great guys...really enjoyed the experience!!!
Wow, that was amazing and terrifying! 💙
This looks great! There's also a game in the works called Climber: Sky is the Limit. Looks like it has potential😁

Lol yes
Sadly if the mountaineering companies weren't so greedy many lives would be saved

Wonder if you can fall or die from storms etc in this....looks fun to try once.
Excellent! This gave me goosepimples :)
Superb … I got vertigo watching this
My son bought this game for me. I’m still playing the historic missions.
Very cool animation. It helps you understand the mountain and how to climb it
This is incredible
They only did half the climb!!!
Y’all still gotta get your ASS off the mountain 🏔
That’s the beauty of VR, you can take a bobsled, snowboard or even a mountain bike down if you truly wanted to.
Wonderful video ❤❤
So good!!! Thank you
I love
This ❤❤❤❤ I can’t afford nexus. Thank
You

Just magnificent
I’m not familiar with VR, so the disembodied hands are a bit unsettling and weird, but this video is bloody amazing nonetheless. 😳
And I didn't even have to put pants on!
if you dont walk properly over the ladder, is there. a fall animation?
If only the Hillary Step were ever that easy hey?
After 60 years of sedentary living, I'll pass. Beautiful video though...
Waving the camera left and right. I will never understand why. It makes me ill.
Where do I get this?
playstation or HTC vive, quest. basically anything that supports vr and the motion controllers can play this
Need to add dead bodies in the visuals as well
The jurney starts at basecamp?? really ? its about a week hiking to even get to the basecamp lol
Awesome! Does this work on Oculus 2 VR?
Hell no !! I will love to be in a tropical island 🏝 getting a nice tan.
Can I get this for my Quest 2?
Protos!
Opaaa :)))
Climbing for NO pay??? HELLLLLLLLLL NAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
at 13:15, when people climb everest, do they even sleep after walking up the lhotse face before the summit? would seem crazy to do that with no sleep
I wish he would keep his camera steady,it was making me dizzy..
It’s vr you would literally have to not move your head at all
yes
beautiful sharing love from pakistan stay connect 💕

❤️❤️❤️
Too jerky - hard on the eyes
yes
Beta?
😍🔝💣
Finally! I can climb Everest without contributing to the trash and douchbaggery that is all too commonplace there now. And no 1/2 mile long queue!
So funny to hear when you use the word "conquer". Really conquer ? . Or better you reach the lap of the goddess
I don’t like this route-- don’t like the long, steep ice face to begin and I really don’t like Hilary’s step
The other guy who did this was terrible. He was basically wasting everyone time.
Desperate climbing on fixed ropes using artificial oxygen... performance degradation, chasing the top.
Flat earth
From that high up in real life you can easily see the curvature of the earth
