FYI. The SPF 30 is chemical sunscreen. Not placing any judgement on that but many people prefer mineral. We can go into why chemical is "easier" for brands to use later but I just wanted to post this update!
Thank you for this update! Yes, definitely more elegant looking, but it’s a pass for me as I prefer less irritating sunscreen and like mineral for my melasma.
Rebecca, I hope you, your family and friends are all safe and well. I’ve been following the devastating news reports of the fires in California and sincerely hope that the fires can be brought under control very soon. Sending love to you X
Hi Rebecca, thank you for reviewing these products, I hope you and your family are safe and not affected with the Californian fires. Love Katherine xoxo
I love watching makeup reviews for fun, but when I'm serious about buying something, I come straight to your channel! Thank you for providing trustworthy makeup reviews. I admire your commitment to honesty and transparency, which helps me make confident purchasing decisions ❤️
When I hear wearable red, I think a softer, subtle, sheerer red. So a red lip without the intensity of red lips. For my mature light skin, most red lipsticks are too much now so wearable red sounds up my alley!
You look so pretty in this lipstick. I'm glad you're wearing more reds. They are very flattering on you. I've seen you in foundations that look better on you. This highlights flaws that you don't even have. Thanks for the video. Please stay safe wherever you are. I've been sending positive energy for safety. Good luck and take care.💚
It’s so good to see you. I’m very worried about the fires. I’m sure you are too. Please take care. I can understand you’re not willing to buy 2 shades. I’m sure it can get very expensive. Your shade pick is great. Thank you for showing this. You’re great. ❤
Hello Rebecca, I hope you are doing okay and able to escape the devastation of the wildfires! My thoughts and prayers are with the residents and families of southern California!!
Good Morning Rebecca 🤗 Definitely curious about the sunscreen that is used in this foundation. Chemical? Hmmm… still sticky after wearing awhile. Hmmm… The lip gloss is beautiful! That’s a color I could wear! Lip lines…. Unfortunate part of the aging process. Don’t even have to smoke to get them. Using straws will encourage them. For many people it’s due to volume loss. For many people it’s due to “dynamic” movement that we make with our faces. Just like the lines in forehead and those pesky lines between the eyebrows..”The elevens”. A bit of Botox can help to relax the muscles that cause the lines. For deeper lines… a bit of filler. Sending lots of Hugs 🤗 ~ CeCe ❄️ It’s snowing here this morning ☃️❄️❄️
Hope your family & friends are all safe & well! While seeing the news last night I was like, "I think Rebecca is in Long Beach..." Davening this morning for all of Southern California💕💕💕
Dear Rebecca, we chatted, and i keep praying for you, these fires are devastating and scaring for you and all of you there!!!🙏❤❤❤❤❤❤Hang in there, this is so hard. And your video wow you are so strong to upload right now, i think, maybe with my dry sensitive skin this is a skintint for me, cause the only one that survived my declutters so far is my Sisley one. Sending you so much love and prayers!!!
I have oily skin so this skin tint was never going to be for me, but the Red O lip is very pretty. I may get it. I’ve not tried the formula because any plumper scares me away. I think it’s absolutely adorable that you put up a photo of the tiny carmine beetle. It made me say “awww🥹” I’m thinking of you and your family and the whole LA community, sweet friend. 💕
I've been thinking about you alot since news of the horrific wildfires has been coming through. I pray that you and your loved ones are safe and out of harms way!!! Sending you so much love!
I thought the skin tint looked a bit heavier that I would have expected. It does not hold a candle to the new Dior one on you. Honestly I wonder if any other new ones can beat that one!
I was doing my makeup while watching this. I used the Dior for the first time I LoVe it!!! The 2N was the perfect shade. I’m glad I went down a bit. It is winter lol. I am about to use the new YSL spring quad it looks gorgeous!
Rebecca my dear! I hope you and your family are safe❤❤ I am sending love to your family and everyone in a California! I was kinda interested in this Hourglass glowy foundation but honestly, I reach more for foundations with matte or natural finishes. I have one dewey foundation-Patrick Ta and that is enough. The lippie js nice but I do not need another lip balm/gloss.
Did you see the new Nordstrom exclusive Nars eye quad in the shade Sweet Kiss (just labeled as "Quad Eyeshadow Palette")? I think it is more pink than I prefer for me but I bet it would look nice on you. ❤
Rebecca, I hope you and your family are not near any of the fires. My hometown of Altadena got hit hard. Watching on TV from San Diego, it's so sad to see the places I frequented and the beautiful neighborhoods near where I lived looking like war zones. Stay safe!
I started to notice some faint lip lines and started using Strivectin’s double fix and really noticed an improvement (as is the case with most Strivectin products, I swear they have improved or at least kept my lines at bay). I apply it around the edges and really rub it in morning and night.
ORDERED it after reading your comment. I'll update. It's around the lips, not even on them but that product seems to say it can help with all of it. Eek. It's scary. Just all of a sudden. I'm ON it.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty that’s where mine were starting, too. I wish they just sold the serum side, since that does the heavy lifting, but the balm side is a nice non-sticky moisturizing one.
Did you say in this video what kind of SPF this has in it? Maybe I missed that. I cannot use chemical sunscreens and also need to avoid "sunscreen boosters" (e.g. butyloctyl salicylate, ethyl ferulate, tridecyl salicylate) which are unregulated chemical sunscreens. Hourglass does not list ingredients on their website, unfortunately. I was happy to see your review - I just found out about this yesterday and you were right on it! ❤
Lip lines….do you tend to use straws when you drink? I stopped using straws when I noticed the lines. I have to say that I like color of the gloss, it is a red that I can get behind. 😊
I do not use straws as that’s the first thing I thought of also! I am wondering if I’ve been puckering my lips when I do some of the guasha things and such that I’ve been doing to help my jawline! I feel like it’s that expression we heard when we were little kids, where our grandparents would say stop making that face or it’ll freeze that way! So now I’m being really conscious of keeping my mouth totally closed and flat when I do anything for my jawline. I think that might be the cause. But exactly like from straws and such or smoking but I don’t do either of those things. Same idea though.
Like everyone else, Rebecca, I hope you are safe! It sounds like this new Illusion is nothing like the Hourglass illusion Hyaluronic tint I used about ten years ago. (I can’t quite remember the name.) Does anyone know how the two compare? Thanks!
Uh oh! I ordered shade 6 (light neutral) but seeing this I think it’ll be too pale 🤦🏼♀️ May I ask what shade you are in Dior complexion products? I love the gloss on you 💄💋
I loved the original version of Hourglass' Illusion skin tint... I'm furious to see they've taken out the mineral sunscreen and replaced it with not one, but THREE different chemical ones! That being said, I will probably try this anyway, although I don't like the number shades nearly as well as their old shades... I was "Warm Ivory" in the original one and have no clue which one to order in this! There's several that look like they might work, but I was shocked how orange shade 5 was in their new "Veil" one! That being said, this new one looks really good on you!! And I have drier skin than you, so it will probably work for me... that is, if the chemical sunscreen doesn't irritate me. :/
Good morning Rebecca! Cold and dark and early here in Chicago! 😂 The HG foundations seem to be hot/miss for me. I think this is a pass for me...Dior has me interested. I do like the lipstick though so will check it out! Ty! I hope you and your family are safe 😢
Thanks for the review! I have oily skin but with a good prep the new Dior foundation sits pretty good on my skin and my god the finish is next level gorgeous! Definitely skipping this Hourglass one because if it’s too luminous for normal skin then this is definitely a skip! HG foundations are very hit and miss and I have had mostly misses from them. But Dior seems to get their foundations right! Also And their shade range compared to HG where even the neutrals pull orange? 😂
I’m glad to hear it lol I liked the skin tint it just barely had any coverage …. so want to try the dior but that fragrance I can’t lol does it go away like why I don’t need a perfumed face 🤣
Back to makeup, this foundation is a hard pass for me as I have combination skin with a very troubled oily muzzle zone! I can wear and do love the hydrating skin tint though ( with powder ). I like the Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balm formula but find the non retractable nature of the component irritates me, perhaps irrational but there you go! Thank you for saving me some £££ 🥰
ooohhh glowy foundation yay!!! nooo not spf!!! lol because of the spf it has not and may not release here in Canada because here there are weird rules about spf ://. oh well... may try to bribe an American friend to get me one.. I know its not your vibe.. but it still looks lovely on you 😍

Since Rebecca mentioned returning, just curious how everyone feels about returning cosmetics. Do you return anything you don’t like? Do you keep it if you order something online that’s the wrong shade or you hate it? Is there a price threshold? Just curious how personal return policies line up with mine or if I’m weird!
I guarantee you’re not weird. And times are changing. you know it used to be in the US you could return anything at any time for any reason. Now they’re starting to have issues with that because, of course, they were taken advantage of. They meaning the retailers. Sephora is particularly nasty. I don’t return because once I use a product in a video I feel like I’ve kind of made money off of it and it feels unethical to me to return it. But if I didn’t have a channel I would probably return when I didn’t like a product as much as they would allow me to, to be honest. I just end up feeling too guilty when I do that professionally. I bought a Charlotte under eye product that burned like crazy and that one I returned. That was like a health issue but I can kind of count on one hand how many I return.
I'm really allergic to carmine in eye makeup. You have to be careful because it's not always called "carmine" and has a few different names when it is in cosmetics (cochineal, C.I. 75470, etc.). That "red" lip is nice neutral on you.
Rebecca, I hope you and your family is safe. It’s a terrible tragedy. Definitely too light, too shiny…. More interested in the Dior hydra foundation I think. Always interested in the hourglass skin tint but didn’t try. I thought you were big on the DM yummy skin tint which I have and like. Lately I’ve been been really liking Ciele tint. Love your thoughts, clarity on tint situation.
I didn't notice it until I went back after seeing this, but the zoom in quality isn't really good enough to see anything. I can actually see better on the non-zoomed images.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I confirmed with my husband too to make sure I wasn't being crazy when I saw this too, he agreed. Just a heads up because it doesn't bother me but I know the videos are a lot of work
It would be more helpful if you wore the makeup how we would normally wear it……… meaning apply concealer, blush, powder etc. Personally, I would never wear a foundation just by itself so this does nothing for me as a review because it’s not addressing performance based on daily “actual” use of the product in regards to how it plays with other makeup products.
Yeah looks greasy. As someone with oily skin I hear “luminous” “glowy” I run for the hills. I want to try the Dolce and Gabanna foundation you reviewed and the new Anastasia matte foundation coming. 😊 Hope you and the family are staying safe!!
FYI. The SPF 30 is chemical sunscreen. Not placing any judgement on that but many people prefer mineral. We can go into why chemical is "easier" for brands to use later but I just wanted to post this update!
