It took 7 months to get an aide fired that no call/ no showed multiple times when scheduled to work and I documented she was sleeping on the job multiple times as well. My manager told me nothing could be done, so my next email I cc his boss. She sent me an email the next morning(I worked night shift)and called me to her office to ask me about the situation.
My mother was a Veterans Administration adjudicator for 34.5 years. She helped every veteran she could get the benefits they earned by serving our country. She would call doctors and ask them to clarify their progress notes to have clearer supporting evidence. She retired the year she turned 80.
I completely agree with Daisy when she pointed out that it takes a while for federal workers to get fired, especially if unionized. Btw, there are two entities in our country, private and public. And currently the public sector is spending money faster than the private sector can produce it. So, that's a serious problem, too.
