For functionality I like BENU's rocker clips. The fact that they put a little divot in the acrylic for the clip's peg to settle into is a nice touch.

I agree. Benu clips are the best.

The Lamy Studio clip is worthy of consideration. It has a great aesthetic and the clip is the focal point. Certainly one of my favorites.

Being an old woman who never put her pen in a shirt pocket, I prefer roll stops when I can get them; but I do love the Japanese clips that are done in Urushi.

I propose that the best clip design, barr none, is that of the Omas Emotica. The clip looks like a neck-tie on the pen, and it also serves as a unique pen stand as both tines of the clip fold outward.

Unique look for sure. I’d be worried about fabric fibers building up vetween the tines.(A little extra maintenance should take care of that of course.)

@@Johan-vk5yd The tines are machined surfaces that meet each other with no gap. Nothing ever "builds up" between the tines. I"ve had the pen since new in the 1990s.
      Your worry is completely unwarranted.

9:55 I never got over the tightness of the Parker arrow, so when the clip broke on one of my cherished Parkers 51, I tried a Jinhao 51 cap with ball clip on. It fit perfectly!

Hi Tom! I loved this video, and totally disagree with Visconti haters, the branding is what I loved about it. What would you say are the best cap sealing pens?

Are there any nice add-on clips for pens that come clipless? I despise to not be able to clip my pen in my pocket

I’m team Visconti clip hater 😂 some of their pens are jaw-dropping but there is something about the clip (and I’m just not sure what it is other than the obvious branding) that makes even their most beautiful pens simply tacky to me… Which is definitely not something I want to think about a pen that costs more than I make in a month!

I found it impossible to actually see many of the features Tom described in the video, some because his hands were between the pen and the camera and others because of distance and focus.

Just found out about fountain pens and now, I’m also finding out about fountain pen clips. Seeing this was uploaded just a month ago coincidentally.
