Robert's character is such a typical sleazy, NY Italian mob boss who's guilty AF but knows the cops can't prove he did anything. He played this role to perfection. Wish his character came back in the sequel.
Wish we could see more of the Gothan gangster genre. Mafia movies are the best and combining that with Batman is 100x better. If only we could have Falcone, Maroni, or other gangsters like Penguin or Black Mask appear more
Black mask and penguin would’ve been awesome villains to have in a fourth Nolan movie as they probably would’ve Take control of Gotham underworld post TDKR

The new Batman movie seems to be a more mafia/serial killer movie.
He himself is not corrupt per se but he's negligent and inclined to overlook instances of police corruption as detailed in previous specials. Not a good police commissioner by any stretch.
Eric Roberts Is great, check out Runaway Train (1985) where he starred along side Jon Voight earning an Oscar nomination. Director Andrei Konchalovsky gave Danny Trejo his big break casting him as Roberts prison boxing match opponent. He was training Roberts for the film and director was like “we need a guy for this scene, you will do”. Eric has great charisma about him, perfect casting by Nolan and maybe a cinephile “favour” as he’s fairly unknown.
Gotta give credit to the Sal Maroni character who exposes the corrupt cops that are the ones investigated in internal affairs & the ones responsible in a way for the Joker's chaos & wrath to take over Gotham & contaminate it, but Maroni is also the main villain who exposed the hungry dog in joker of it's leesh.
I've recently come across a new comical interview with Switchbox TV and Eric Roberts on filming during the pandemic and working with Meghan Markle. Heres the link to the interview if you're interested in having a watch: ruclips.net/video/-JrXEMoPHsY/видео.html

I thought this interview was a bit too over the top until I watched a real interview with Meyer Lansky.
Agree 💯
He was killed by Harvey Dent
@@MoonLess4444noooo it was the driver,we dont heard about Maronis Death
Roberts did an interesting job acting as Sal Maroni, kinda like a comic book portrayal
Agree great cliche mob guy
Eric Roberts is great
@Margaret Harvey *Ramirezzzzz

@@dillonroberts9506he was gay, Eric Roberts?

Looks like that's the type of film we're getting with the Pattinson one. A real grimy, street criminal/mafia-style murder mystery.
Nolan said he didn't want Penguin in the movies.
5 fuckin families, and we got this pygmy thing in Gotham.
This is the only version of Loeb to never be shown as the most corrupt Police Commissioner in Gotham History.
Yes, he’s very different from Loeb in the comics.
Yeah, thank goodness in the Multiverse of DC there is a more favourable Doppelganger of Loeb.
He himself is not corrupt per se but he's negligent and inclined to overlook instances of police corruption as detailed in previous specials. Not a good police commissioner by any stretch.
@mphylo2296 no one said he was good. Just unable to control his own police department.
Just because it's not explicitly shown doesn't mean it isn't actually shown.
Maroni was effortless. Very suave and chilled.
Maroni had more time in this promo than the actual film. 😂😂
Maroni: “Pretty boy Dent and Baldy”
Loeb: “Baldy?”
For some reason I find that funny 😂😂
this is so cool
Never ever seen these Gotham Tonight videos, it's like parts of the film I've never seen, its freakin awesome!!! 😃
Eric Roberts is an excellent actor
Dark Danny 😊😅😂.
Commissioner Loeb is a combination between Stephen A Smith & Magic Johnson, league source tells ESPN
Woa! never knew about this. Is this in the blu ray?
yep, TDK 2-disc edition
@@flashbackfilmmaking there is no 2 disc for the blu Ray version its all on one disc in the special features.
I remember watching these when they aired. I was so jazzed to see the new episodes
@@NumaanTahir There is a 2 disc version, bought it in the late 2000s and I still have it.
*2:56* that’s a good way to say stop asking questions

Imagine while the Joker is planning the heist, he's watching these GCN reports and interviews.
4TH WALL BREAKER😂😂😂😂 2:37
I want to look like him. Sal Maroni is a handsome mobster.
Plus he's got an awesome voice too.
0:20 - I’m a LITTLE TICKED OFF
Maroni feels like Trump
I was just thinking that. The macho-clown aesthetic existed long before him, I suppose.
Maroni is a hacker 2:31

These are AMAZING
"good say goodnight"
Maroni: I’ll tell ‘em I’m in the importing buisness.
Chechen: Just imports? No exports?
Maroni: I’m an importer/exporter…
Everyone assumes your mobbed up its a stereotype and its offensive!
Matt reeves gotta do something like this
Brilliant.
Rob’s portrayal reminds me a lot of Armand Assante’s John Gotti.
the interviewer sounds like Anderson Cooper lol
Anderson’s family background as a Vanderbilt makes him the equivalent of a Wayne, Kane, Cobblepot, Elliot, or Sionis.
NO PLZ NOOOOOOO😂😂😂😂😂😂 4:36
So much John Gotti vibes
POP IT TOMMY, POP IT!
The villans i like in batman are The mob

Baldy???
I hate this was left out of the film.
Is that a deepfake or real filming as additional to movie?
Real
