- Obi figures out how to crawl under the couch! He also loves playing hide and seek. Obi meets another dog (Blue the Blue Healer) for his first play date and was a little standoffish. Maybe he was playing hard-to-get.
Those dogs are one of the smartest breeds.

When we first adopted our he learn his name in day, now he can open doors sometimes if they aren’t close all the way

you know, I think God had a better plan and that’s why he put that tail on that dog. I just cannot say enough about whacking off a dog’s beautiful tail for what reason why. Leave your doggy alone let him be who he is. Let him shake that little wicked wicked wacky tail all of it. What did you do with the part that got cut off, don’t do it. Leave your dog the way he or she is there beautiful wonderful dog.

We didn’t choose to have his tail copped. We also wish it hadn’t been done. But I assure you he is loving life. And today is his birthday!
Rat terriers just seem to enjoy life more than everyone else.
It really is the truth. I am jealous when I see how much joy he gets just from running around woth a good stick in his mouth. Pure bliss.
My mom gave me a rat terrier puppy on my tenth birthday. The sweetest and most loving thing she ever did. Spotty was the best dog a kid could ever imagine. So much love, high energy and years of fun. ❤
My Chico, who is a 12 year old rat terrier mix does the same thing. Runs around, loving people, playtime.. and the COUCH! OMG it's so precious when they go under the couches and do a peek a boo. Obi is precious and adorable!! OMG my heart
I recently lost my 17.5 year old Rat Terrier Dollie. These videos are making me feel better. They are such great dogs, and Obi is smart and adorable.
Sorry for your loss. I lost my 11 1/2 years old rattie (Jack) recently on June 14 (2023). He was my second rattie and my everything. Having a hard time with this one’s loss. He had a heart murmur and CHF. Never had to put one down before…hardest thing I’ve ever done. I miss him so very much! I’ve always told folks who lose pets that are having a hard time, to just get another. For me, this will take a little while even though I KNOW there is no other breed that can compare. They are the best! 💔😘
Lost my 17.5 year old Rat Terrier Minnie more than a decade ago and haven't been able to get another dog since. She was incredibly smart and treated each family member differently. Fastest dog in the park except for the greyhounds. Loyal as all hell. Never bit a soul in her life. I grieved for her for a very long time. Ratties are the best breed ever.
We lost our Rat Terrier this past Monday, who was almost 14 yo. I am finding solace in watching your video, and these dogs make the best pets, smart and so lovable. I hope you have a long relationship with him. I enjoyed.

This terrier breed was originally bred with the purpose to squeeze into tight spaces in pursuit of vermin, foxes, etc. It is in this dog's very DNA to engage in this kind of behavior.

My little princess Little Lady always sleeps on my bed. She loves it. She’s a cuddler at heart. She loves sitting on stuffed animals, a huge pillow, blankets, me, and other dogs. She’ll even burrow under the stuffed animals. ❤

I know....my precious white/tan ...12 yr....rattie just passed a few weeks ago.....renal failure....I am devastated.....numb...lost...my bud....eventually get another.....but never another one like kiba ❣🐶❣.

@@neesee456 Hi sweetie....TY sweetly for replying .....did your baby also have renal failure....plus found out i was feeding kiba a 5star grain free...NOW they are saying it is causing enlarged heart....kiba also had......like you ....i miss him so much but feel i am almost ready....but i am apt...looking....so it may be a month or so....look under Rat Terrier Rescue-ADOPTIONS....when on the site it says.....Rescue Me!....shows a map....hit California...twice.....it says 6.....for how many there...3rd...dog down.....Alfie...it has a video....the rattie on there could be kibas brother....ohhhh....but alot of states wont do out of town adoptions....I look on Petfinder alot too....let me know.....prayers you get your new furbaby....excited for you...i plan to get an older or young senior....they need love even more.....good luck sweetie .....Ratties are so amazing and personable.....💞🐶🙋

Did you have Obi’s ears docked or did they just stand up naturally? I saw him at 5 months old on another video and his ears are all the way up.
I had a female ratty named CoCo, her ears didn’t stand up till she was 8 months, they flopped backwards for a couple months first, then stood up like overnight
I have a toy rat terrier and her ears are almost always up in the air, but they were never docked or anything. Some dogs have better cartilage.
My toy rat terrier died last week. She was 14 yrs old. In dog yr is almost 100 yrs. We missed and love her so much.

Leash inside could be bc they are still training, esp house training (so they don’t have to run around chasing) or for recall.
@@ratterrierdogma Thank you sweetie....OHHH.....I cant begin to tell you hearing that breaks my heart....my kiba until 2 weeks ago....was acting perfectly normal....then he starting not wanting his Pure balance food...thought maybe he is tired of it....then about few days later....tucking his butt in a bit and moving slow....he injured his hind leg...so thought it was that.....so vet let me pick up some pain meds....till he could see him in 4 days....well took him in and like you ....my world stood still that day....basically he was dying....he had a little enlarged heart....arthritis....on spine....liver and kidney failure....I was in shock....numb....so he suggested the pet hospital....we took him that afternoon....stayed 3 days....staff/Doc. was wonderful.....kiba seemed perkier....that was monday....as that week started....he was okay....but by wed....trying anything to get him to eat....had to give water by syringe....no needle....he'd lick it....well called hospital....(closing for Christmas 2 days.)....they said bring him in sat....keep trying fluids etc... we also did needle in back for hydration....went in that saturday...he had trouble breathing that morning....fluid surrounded heart....he had that blank look...so they let us be with him....hold him...love him.....had to put him to sleep then...having him creamated....i feel guilty....went throught a divorce....few years ago...no money.....so no vet....but he seemed perfect healthy....people said I spoiled him so...but he was my life....Vet told me....dont do that to myself....what ifs.....dogs can hide sickness so well.....but I still feel guilty.....he said it was very common in older dogs....he was 12....its only been a week but it seems an eternity....he was my baby....is it early stages of renal disease?.....some dogs do good on the special food...fluid...meds....they prescribe....i know i dont know you....but please let me know how he does.....i will pray everday...please take videos....i only have a few of kiba....Rt's are amazing....personel dogs....hearts so big.....one day maybe another rattie after i heal some....but there will never be another kiba.....keep in touch....💞🐶💞🙏

Ratties are the absolute best, I lost my Jack the Rat a year ago , he was 16 . Miss him so much.
Same my grandparents had a rat terrier that was about to be 17 but he stopped eating and they his days were numbered. Now they have a new rat terrier that almost looks like a miniature version of their older dog
