🎙️ An apology from the team… You may notice that our sound is a little glitchy in this episode. There was a technical issue that we were not aware of until after recording, and we have done our best to rectify it - these things happen and hopefully we won’t run into this problem again! 🎙️
I think she is one of the most beautiful women on the planet. Her face is extraordinary. The different looks she can take on with just a slight change in make-up is mind-blowing. I would kill to have cheek bones like her. Stunning lady.
I simply love and adore the way Rob is so genuine and generous as he interviews. Look at his face as he actually listens to Jennifer, the raporte is sensational 🎉. Thank you Rob!👍
French and Saunders is easily one of the funniest shows of all time. Saunders' deadpan and understated humor in particular was the perfect foil to Dawn. Reminded me of Peter Cook's foil to Dudley Moore from the 60s.
Jennifer Saunders is a legend, can’t think of anything she starred in that I didn’t like but while I think most people tend to single Ab Fab as her best show, I would say that French&Saunders is just a utterly mad, brilliant show, she and Dawn are two of my personal heroes and every time I feel sad I know that I can go on RUclips and search some of their sketch’s, great interview 🙌
Those F&S skits from the 90s are some of the only comedy that I've nearly literally wet myself with laughter over. I don't think their contribution to British comedy can be underestimated. F&S and the original 3 series of Ab Fab have been absolutely intrinsic to my own sense of humour and sense of the world.
What a treat. It was in a film class in Los Angeles I watched my first episode of French & Saunders, this was almost two decades back. Hysterical. Their sending up of Fellini (Franco y Sandro) and Bergman had me on the floor. A couple of geniuses, those two. And what a treat they'll be paired together again in Death on the Nile. A clever wink from Branagh. Can't wait.
I must have missed this one last year!! What a treat to find it! Lovely lady! I always enjoy her interviews, thanks Rob for having her on your podcast.
Thank you for posting this! I love Jennifer and Rob. I'm 10 years younger than Jennifer, and was born in Milan and lived there until about 1971-1972. We lived across from a palace-type place where an elderly Count lived. I'm not sure if we were there at the same time, but something unexpected in common. My father was from London.
It is hard to believe that Jennifer was so excited to be in a film after all the fame she's garnered for F&S and Ab Fab. Before Ab Fab became available to stream, I actually bought the DVDs. I was pleasantly surprised to see her on WILTY! I watched to see if she laughed at David's and Lee's antics. I wanted to see if she found them as funny as I do! Thanks for this interview. More, please!
And she was in Muppet Treasure Island(!) and has done voice acting in films, but I guess there's fewer movie stars and flashy sets for those... (Tbf pretty sure she didn't have any scenes with Kermit or Tim Curry, who I'd be star struck around) But, it must have been both wonderful and slightly surreal to be doing it with Dawn after their history.
I love Jennifer, she’s brilliant. I wish she’d done more when she was younger as she’s very interesting to listen to. How does she look so good for her age?
Great interview. Jennifer you are an absolute legend! I agree totally that with advancing years the best advice is to just do your own thing and f..k the consequenses! 🤘😎🎸
That’s one talk which should be at least three times as long as it was. What a delightful and wonderfully ‘real’ chat. Thank you both so much! It probably will be a long time for me to wait for Death on Nile but eventually it will and I’m looking forward to it.
Love Jennifer, she’s my secret lover, even she doesn’t know. Haha . A great talent, one of the best. Completely down to earth, always true to herself. Love funny women, shows intelligence. Class act.
Great series Rob - because we often hear stories never told before! I've watched them all on RUclips. Please can you interview more women - Joanna Lumley, Julie Walters, Amy Poeler, Kathy Griffin - Amy Schumer.. the list goes on!
Oh I can't wait to see Death on the Nile. I loved Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile with Jennifer and Dawn is going to be a treat. Lovely interview!
Dear god I had to replay this video three or four times to fully listen to what was being said; Jennifer is so stunning :/ The Nile film is one of a less-than-a-handful of films I was so miffed at for having its release date forever being pushed forward, I really wish they released it on home streaming during the lockdown.
This is gonna sound really weird, but I’d have loved to see Jennifer Saunders in Justified. It would be an against type role, and her American accents are quite good.
I don't wish for a different family or a different life but I also wish I could have been Jennifer Saunders. Awkward for Jennifer as what would she do while I was being her? I think that's what they call a conundrum in the more well to do parts of Town .
I'm surprised that they're surprised. She was in Shrek 2, and Dawn French was in Harry Potter 3. Both huge movies, and certainly bigger than Death on the Nile.
The relative size of the movies is irrelevant. Shrek 2 only involved 4 days of voice recordings for an animated character. Death on the Nile meant being on elaborate sets in a studio, location work in Morocco, and hanging out with some famous actors and high quality crew. If you can't understand the difference between those experiences, you probably get surprised a lot.
Plus I think this is the only time they've been able to work together on a film/Hollywood project. That's what she was getting at - as 20 y.o. they joked about getting carried off to do a fantastic* a Hollywood movie together, and it finally happened! Not only that but an expensive location shoot (her bit on Muppet Treasure Island was in a Elstree or Shepperton studio) with even the Hollywood actors excited about the sets, so it was proper swanky! *fantastic/fantastical in the project's scale, rather than quality of the finished thing - I've not seen it so can't comment on that.
Wow. The older she gets the sexier she gets. Shallow and unimportant observation I know but on top of the comedy genius worth pointing out in a business obsessed with youth over substance..

I'm outraged -- OUTRAGED !!! I demand to see the manager ! I demand a full refund !!! ... Oh, the humanity.
Now you tell me, I am going to re-watch it to try to catch the sound glitches. Cheers Rob, thanks for the shows.
Directional microphones….
Totally forgiven - you are a treasure.
Good for Jennifer 👍, But you I hope it is a disaster for you because your face and manner creeps me out.
My god how good does Jennifer Saunders still look.
she's only 64.
I think she is one of the most beautiful women on the planet. Her face is extraordinary. The different looks she can take on with just a slight change in make-up is mind-blowing. I would kill to have cheek bones like her. Stunning lady.

Thank you Rob!👍
What a beautiful person she is so down to earth for all her fame and fortune. Can’t wait to watch her and Dawn together again.
A delightful woman, what a pleasure to listen to.
Dawn & Jennifer, still friends, still working and having fun. Love them both.

I fancied her 40 years ago & I still fancy her now. Consistency.

A big hollywood movie involves MUCH more money and pressure. That's why.
I must have missed this one last year!! What a treat to find it! Lovely lady! I always enjoy her interviews, thanks Rob for having her on your podcast.
Class act. Looking incredible. Performing better than ever.

Though I enjoyed Orient Express, it's French and Saunders starring in Death On The Nile that's got me excited for it.

so nice to see that genuine excitement… like a kid

Another winner. Love these interviews. x
Recently discovered these videos and loved watching them all, happy and relaxed people just having a chat. It really cheers me up. 😀

What a brilliant woman! Such understated genius, and still with good humour, grace, and enthusiasm stars of her stature usually lose.
Great series Rob - because we often hear stories never told before! I've watched them all on RUclips. Please can you interview more women - Joanna Lumley, Julie Walters, Amy Poeler, Kathy Griffin - Amy Schumer.. the list goes on!
Lunchtime and Rob's got another interview upload - great!
Ooooh fab, just got on the exercise bike and this gem pops up….ta Rob & Jen 👍🏽🙋🏽♀️
The first time I remember Jennifer was in the early 80's 'the young ones' classic episode
That bit where they go through her bag and Rik finds the 'mouse in a telescope' lives in my head! 😂
@@helenl3193 yeah, happy days :)
Is it just me, or does Rob sound more Welsh than he does on tv? I love it. Blithe Spirit is such a good show, I bet Jennifer is hilarious in it.
Oh I can't wait to see Death on the Nile. I loved Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile with Jennifer and Dawn is going to be a treat. Lovely interview!
Another presentation of two really wonderful people and entertainers. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Great conversation !! Thanks you !!
Gotta love Jennifer Saunders
She’s gorgeous and funny.
Dear god I had to replay this video three or four times to fully listen to what was being said; Jennifer is so stunning :/

Again a great interview!
Forget criticism or apologies, this was Wonderful!!@
Nice interview. Very relaxed.
Jennifer looks Absolutely Fabulous!
Excellent interview, thank you!
Lovely. Thanks to you both xx
Wow, she is lovely
This is gonna sound really weird, but I’d have loved to see Jennifer Saunders in Justified. It would be an against type role, and her American accents are quite good.
Rob ACTUALLY sounds like a man in a box in this one.
Now, I want to see a remake of Thor with Rob playing Loki. He's a shape changer, so you could do your own impressions!
Ok, it's immediately now part of my head canon that Loki is a 2 Ronnies fan. 😁
Jennifer- the coolest.
I don't wish for a different family or a different life but I also wish I could have been Jennifer Saunders. Awkward for Jennifer as what would she do while I was being her? I think that's what they call a conundrum in the more well to do parts of Town .
You just had to get a Ronnie impression in there didn't you Rob?
Omg! Keep up the good videos! ✅
Love it!! The 2 Ronnies 😂😂
Rob sounds like he's speaking from the catacombs in Paris
Adore.
Thank you thank you thank you. ❤
Still have my crush on Jennifer. Sigh.
Did you try turning it off and on again? Love the show btw
love her
what a lovely couple i'd like to see french and saunders do abba again with rob and steve coogan
did french and saunders ever do a woody allen sketch?
Well that explains why I can never hear a bloody thing and always need the subtitles on lol (and no, I'm not old or deaf)
You gotta get Dawn on here now then Ruby Wax & Tracy Ullman for the full Girls On Top experience!
Dawn has been on! 😊 Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/xIrrb6fgruE/видео.html
She'll always be Helen Mucus to me.... ;)
I'm surprised that they're surprised. She was in Shrek 2, and Dawn French was in Harry Potter 3. Both huge movies, and certainly bigger than Death on the Nile.

Why was B&Q banned?
She was in a fantastic Hollywood movie before- Shrek 2.
Those Hollywood actors are no different to Jennifer Sanders, they are just people. Surprised she puts them on a pedestal, they are not special.
you’re a lumberjack, you’re ok,
you sleep all night and you work all day
Wow. The older she gets the sexier she gets. Shallow and unimportant observation I know but on top of the comedy genius worth pointing out in a business obsessed with youth over substance..
Thanks Ade
How many times does she have to asked about CSSD???? Jesus I can think of a million better questions than what did you do in college?
What was Kenneth Branagh doing in Hull? lolol
YOU were turned down by Rhayader? With YOUR ACCENT?
SO yummy!
I was rather hoping Saunders had come a cropper out fox hunting by now, but, no, she's still going strong.
ruclips.net/video/W8htb5YSHPM/видео.html The red dress….
L
From where came the hair?? and you'd think Saunders could have shaved
She did shave! lol
Fox hunting woman who should not be allowed air time.
