- I'm not going to start posting mtb videos... but I wanted to share just one. I'm new at this, but having a blast. Any other mountain bikers out there? Sound off in the comments!

Used to do MTB and Roady. About 50/50.
@@rodtoler I bought a road bike a couple of years ago, and it just sat. I rode it like 4 or 5 times and never could get into it. I much more enjoy mountain biking, even if it's just urban exploration.
@@o3djeeps My roady is a Specialized Roubaix all carbon fibre. Hands dow the most comfortable ride on any bike. Specialized's vibration absorbing "zerts" in the seat post, forks and chain stay , BG fitting and amazing saddle make all the difference. My MTB is a a 2005 Gary Fisher Paragon 29er. A techno marvel of its day. No all good bike have 29" wheels, hydraulic disc breaks and suspension. I have ridden it in 11 different countries (Navy). I even downhilled Mt. Vesuvius on it. Dang, I need to get back into it.

I have a trek marlin 7 2019 and it is a Beauty I’ve done black Dimond trails on it and just yesterday I finished my first double black Dimond trail on it.
SuperBaycool man, tell me this is true! I am thinking about buying one tomorrow. Thought about the 5, but talked myself into the upgrades upfront with the 7. Were you considering anything else at this price point? Any concerns with the 7 so far?
David Bartsch Well it’s the best bike I’ve ever owned till this day. I’ve had it for around 9 months. The only upgrades I’ve done are I upgraded the pedals and the front tire to a Maxxis ardent 2.40 tryer. I onestly think the marlin 7 has a heaps good looking frame as well it can take some big crashes. I’ve had no problem with it and I would shorly recommended to all my friends. I got one of my mates to get the marlin 7 and he loves it. I think the marlin 7 it heaps good for the price, it’s heaps better then the talons 3 as well the Norco storm. This bikes the best you can get for this price point.
SuperBaycool Ok. Now I’m back to maybe just getting a Marlin 6. Is the $150 more worth it for the 7 (only upgrade looking to be the shock really)? Also, I’d be tempted by the 2020 models which are both 2x gears. See any issue with that?
David Bartsch I originally was going to get the marlin 5 but then I wanted more geers and it was so much worth the more gears. I demolish my friend with a marlin 5 on climbs. The shock is amazing I didn’t think a coil fork from rock shox could perform this well.
Wow so you think a 2020 trek marlin 6 is suited for diamond backs? Skill also weights in to the outcome correct? I'm just asking because I see a lot of dudes with 2k 3k 4k thousand dollar bikes strolling through diamond back trails only
I just bought a Marlin 7 in emerald iris yesterday. Can’t wait to ride it. I just got into mtn biking myself. I had no idea it was so much fun. I wish I would have started sooner! Jeeps and mtn bikes are the best! Great video.

I am from germany, so sorry for my bad english! ;-) I came here in research for Trek Marlin Bike Series test rides, because i wanted to buy the little cheaper version (Marlin 5) for a new beginning after 20 years of mountainbiking abstinence! My doctor said, i have to do sports, to lose weight, but i can´t imagine to sit on a spinning bike inside of a gym, so i decided to go outside... real world, real nature, real wind in my hair!!! ;-)
Your Video from the great performance of TREK Bikes, was the last step for my descision to buy the TREK Marlin 5 to start a new and healthier life! I´m turnin 50 next year and i wanted to reach 80 or more!!! ;-)
EDIT: Your Jeep is also amazing! But i think it´s too big for the small german streets! ;-)

Nice video, Chris. Good to see a change up. I may have to get off my butt and knock the dust off of my bikes. (I have 5). Haven’t ridden since I retired from the Navy. Wifey keeps reminding me of the $$$$ hanging from the rack in the Garage. ;) . #inspired
I've been getting lazier as each year passes. I've never been into "fitness". I get bored exercising just for the sake of exercising. But this has proven to be enjoyable so hopefully I can stick with it.
Just got a 2021 Trek Marlin 7 over the weekend. Its the first bike I've owned in around 17 years.
Nice bike. I have a Trek Dual Sport but now looking at getting a Marlin series bike. Sounded like your back end was taking a beating on that trail. (Sounds just like my bike). Maybe if I upgrade my tires on my DS it would be similar to the Marlin.

You are so cool and a great guy helping to fix the Jeep, I have a Jeep Wrangler Sahara 2001 and also a old Trek 5000 mountain bike, I did a lot mountain Bike years a go but I want to start again but I don’t want to broke my 49 years old bones but really fun means take the risk and mountain bike right?

Been mountain biking since 1989 so I love this. I have mountain biking videos on my channel as well as Jeep videos. Haven't been to Patapsco in years. What area were you riding? I need to get back down there. I'm in Cecil County so I ride Fairhill and White Clay Creek a lot.
What kind of bike rack did you have? Name model? Do they make a double bike carrier?
I have same exact bike but I’m not really a mountain biker. I ride on packed trails with it for distance. I really struggle with it on singletrack.
What weigh have this bike and what size ?

I have a dilemma. Should I go for the Marlin 7 which is the highest
level Marlin or, should I go for the Roscoe 6 which is £200 more.

do community via the canal and go on road also. I like to go into
woody areas up and downhill when I have the chance also. If I got the
Marlin 7, would I be missing out by not getting the roscoe 6. Would I
damage the bike if I had a Marlin 7 when going through woody, bumpy
areas? My fear is that by getting the Marlin 7 instead of getting the
roscoe 6 I will be missing out on the possibility of a much better bike.
Is £700 instead of £500 though really worth it for what I am wanting
to do?

I was recently thinking of just getting a bike to ride around for moderate exercise at walmart and now I'm hooked on these videos and went to look at a talus 2 today and gonna go look at a marlin 6&7 tomorrow......I got to thinking what am I getting my self into?? Guys. Do you think at 50 im to old to get a nice bike like that to get started or am I just too old period. Any tips? Thank you

@@pdolf16 I will do that, thank you. I ended up picking up a like new 24 speed cannondale adventure the other day that feels pretty comfortable with a more upright position. I think it only weighs about 21lbs with the 700c wheels. It came tuned with new tires, front and rear lights and an air pump so I dont have any excuses now lol. I do have to figure out changing the gears. Yes it's been a very long time😬

Hi I have a 2021 marlin 7 and wondering if I can put 29x2.6 tires?
2.4 is max in the back. I too have a marlin 7 up front you might be able to do the 2.6

Wait. Are you sure that’s not a Marlin 6? I don’t think the Marlin 7 comes in that slate gray color. Unless I’m missing something. Either way, great choice of bike!
