2006 uniforms and standard def TV makes this feel 30 years old, not 15 years old. As a Spartan fan, it was a great day, glad to re-live it here!

I was an Ohio State student and had this game on in the background while I was studying. It wasn't much of a game as it was so lopsided. But it went from background noise to something I'll never, ever forget. Drew Stanton took hit after hit and I expected him to eventually not be able to stand back up. But he didn't seem to understand the concept of "quit". He reminded me of John Elway during the 97 Superbowl. This whole event was absolutely unforgettable.

More like The Largest Comeback In Football History. I graduated HS 4 months ago this year & started college in my hometown when this happened. I saw the whole game & as a Spartan fan, I went crazy. A REAL Fan does not turn off the tv let alone leaves the stadium.
    Still To This Day...
No NFL team or College Football has ever come back after being down 35 points. There has been a couple of NCAAF teams that had (34) but no team ever had 35+ point deficit & cameback to win the game. No team, not even the Bills (31 Oilers)the Colts (32 Chiefs) Not the Jaguars (27 Chargers) and not even the Patriots (25) have ever had this HISTORIC COMEBACK.
This is the GREATEST COMEBACK OF ALL TIME.

Got to see Stanton in hs game without knowing what he would become. College and some pros. Was there to support a buddies son that was on the offense. My buddy had thrown out something about a good qb on team. Oh my word did he short sell. I am not a knowledgeable fan of American football. But, even I could see that the qb was very athletic. Like a better than average running back with a good enough arm to play qb. Yup, the dude made it all the way to NFL for a few cups of coffee and enough money that if he invested like one of my sons does would never have to "work" in his life. So, good for him.

Hey, great game. I really appreciate you finding an alternate source to show the full ending there. I know it's poor quality and looks like it was ripped from a 2006 internet video but to not have any kind of reaction (or a very short one) just isn't fitting of such a great comeback. And we know ESPN Classic cuts the endings to their games so short that there's barely any postgame reaction most of the time.

To make things even crazier, MSU went on to lose 46-21 to Indiana the following week, and John L. Smith was fired as head coach November 1. I’m not saying it’s super duper rare or anything, but not too many coaches get fired in the middle of the season.
