Always interesting how tourists think of Bribie, Captain Cook back in the day sailed through Pumicestone passage ;) There has always been talk amongst the locals of an underground hospital that's never been found.
This reminds me so much of going beach fishing with my dad, we used to live on the central coast of NSW here in Australia. And there was more than 20 miles of beach near where we lived in a town called Hawks Nest, thanks for bringing back so many happy memories for me!!
I grew up in Caloundra and when we were young we used to paddle over there to camp and surf and it was such a great childhood. The government doesn’t allow it anymore and unfortunately the internet has stopped kids exploring.
Bribie is beautiful and so close to Brisbane. Another great island to visit is North Stradbroke (Straddie) which has three towns and also has sealed roads. Take the car ferry from Cleveland. Spectacular bush walks, beaches, and crystal clear perched lakes.

🤔So much more to Bribie Island 👍than four wheel driving.🥰Had a holiday house, 🏡that my father built 🙏way back when there 👍was only water barge access.😘Before fishing 🐟was banned on the bridge,🙏Dad caught a huge Groper 🐟that fed us for days.🫶Fish and chips at the Jetty at Bongaree 💕is a great spot.👍That’s where the ferry would bring in 🤞day trippers, before the bridge.💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶
