Yet another admirable job reviewing an affordable rock machine!! That thing is every 15yr olds dream (at least is was for me, but then cars got in the way,...and girls) but, that guitar and an amp in a garage with your buddies was pretty much magic!!
I'm getting one I was planning on getting the kramer baretta special but I like Jackson more because the headstocks are pointy and really good for Thrash Metal.
Ha!! I’m in the same boat. What I do like about the Kramer Baretta is the more rounded body contours I’m not really into pointy sharp bodies but that is a personal preference. You like metal so the Jackson fits that bill better.
Yeah I paid 200$ for mine and swapped my emgs into it lol . Mine is the js 23 ibeleive , w/e that means ? But it’s a hss setup with 89 in the bridge sv in middle and sa in neck . Needs some fret work and mine is the compound radius neck . But I agree on this guitar throw away the bar . Oh and mine also has the extra 2 frets lol . Nice guitar bro and yeah they are a great buy
Ben:: I bought a set of belcat chrome covered pickups! I took the covers off hoping for some blk/ cream? To my surprise I found Jackson stamped pickups! Someone on youtube found the same thing! Thanks!
This has me gassin for a Jackson again... In 1994, i spent all my summer money on a 93 USA made Soloist neck thru custom "Skulls" airbrushed, ebony board, mop sharkteeth . I was dumb . I thought it was too much cost, and sent it back to musicians friend for credit. I wish I had known it would be that desirable now. I'm keeping my eye out, now that can. Someday! Edit: Musicians friend sent a paper check refund, and i saved it to put down on my 95 ESP KH-2 Skulls Kirk Hammet sig, which i still own to this day!
The whammy bar on my guitar actually stays in tune decently well provided you don't do crazy divebombs on it. I only spent about half an hour setting up the guitar, didn't do anything to the nut besides adding some lubricant, and it seemed to do the trick.
today was ones of those days that I didn’t have a riff stuck in my head....until this video 😂. Cool Jackson, Ben!! Love the blue, and that neck looks really nice! I made it all seven minutes!! 😁 🐰🎸🤘
Hello, i have the same guitar but when installing the whammy bar at some point I just can't insert anymore and can't push it down so it's not working is there anything I can do?
I got the blue one, plays robin Trower great to rolling stond great. Another day Another night. The whole bridge of sighs album. Great, no bovine Poo 💩. It's as loud as a cow peaing on a flat ROCK I LOVE IT . And it's cheap to, a lot of bang for the buck here $% the JS 11 KICKS ass.
More nut lube! That will get the riff unstuck. I tink I would pick a Charvel over the Jackson since they are both very similar. But for 150 US it's a darn good guitar.
Hi I've got the js11 but the tuning sucks, have bought the js32 hardtail green , with the maple top , oh my totally different guitar, if you can afford it go with the js32 .
I have this guitar and it came with .11 strings. They eventually wore out so i changed it but bought .12 guage strings. I tuned it to E but the tremelo had risen significantly high. I have to play in downtune to keep that from happening. What should i do?
@@BenCoombs so my best option would be to buy lighter guage strings. Due to the pandemic. My local music store has been closed for nearly a month now. Any trusted sites i may purchase new strings from?
Ah the blue Jackson well done and played. like an old rescue dog from the pound needs to be taken home from the GC jail and shown some love. I usually toss the bar from those floyds too got a pile in the corner. lol
Greets, been looking at the dinky, why do they call it that? Just thought I'd add my ears to your effort, which are not hearing the bass strings E A D as much as the others G B E. Anyway's, you've got HH so no noise problems I'm assuming. What is your opinion on the clean sound? The sustain? I can see that you do not hold the tremelo system in high esteem, due to tuning issues. ONE OF THOSE! Have no fear, I happen to know an englishman Sam Deeks, a luthier on youtube. Look him up. He's got dozens of vids on the nut, first fret action, and staying in tune. He's soft spoken and a very good teacher. Thank you for your vid.
Make sure the nut is cut properly. They all need work from the factory a bit. Also this trem system can't be used to aggressive. It's the same as a strat system but with a much worse string break angle.

Vert well said!! Cheers!!
Just got my red js11 today and I couldn't be happier.
Awesome!! I almost got the red but went with blue only because my Kramer is that same red lol!!
Got to love a Jackson...
The Jackson JS11 is a fantastic guitar!
Could have been a year ago but Jackson’s still rule! 🤘🏽
Work those nuts 😂
All very true!! Cheers!!

Another nice guitar Ben. I love that color 👍
Thanks Chris!! Cheers!!
Hope you are feeling better Cuz ! 😎🎸🤘

If I replace the stock nut with a locking nut, will the strings stay in tune??
That would lock the strings on one end but you would have no way to fine tune it unless you replace the bridge as well.
The whammy bar on my guitar actually stays in tune decently well provided you don't do crazy divebombs on it. I only spent about half an hour setting up the guitar, didn't do anything to the nut besides adding some lubricant, and it seemed to do the trick.
that's a very cool Jackson guitar Ben & I made it through all 7 mins , Cheers !
Awesome!! Thanks Mark!!

Awesome! Thank you!
Very nice Jackson Ben🤘 I made it! All 7 minutes baby👍🎸
Right on!! Thanks Pete!!
Yes, these are great guitars! Thanks!
Love the Jackson ben
I got it recently, the tremolo bridge is too stiff to use. I don't know if it is happening with every piece.
Try backing off the spring claw a bit.
Hello, i have the same guitar but when installing the whammy bar at some point I just can't insert anymore and can't push it down so it's not working is there anything I can do?
Im watching this in the middle of July 2021
Isn't past your bed time? Or is it past mine? I don't know anymore, lol. Nice geetar! Love that colour.
I schedule my videos to come out while I'm sleeping then answer comments while having my morning coffee lol!! Cheers Preston!!

Gotta get the white one
I went for blue as I already have red and white guitars, cheers!!
@@BenCoombs does it stay in tune?
@@James-hh1lq Not when you use the trem system unless you work on the nut. Seems to be some binding issues due to the string cut angle.
@@BenCoombs i want the ibanez rg550.
Any idea how much it weighs? I need a very light guitar.
I'm considering this one to be my first electric guitar. Do you recommend it?
Yes for sure!! Money well spent, just don't use the trem bar much unless you lube the nut. Cheers!!
@@BenCoombs thank you so much. Stay safe with the lockdown :D
@@BenCoombs im surprised no "that's what she said" jokes on that one lol
Hye..can i link your video into my video card??..im doing budget guitar suggestion..
Contact me by email and we can discuss.
Sure can..ur email please..
More nut lube! That will get the riff unstuck. I tink I would pick a Charvel over the Jackson since they are both very similar. But for 150 US it's a darn good guitar.
One of these days I'll take the time and carve a proper nut for it. Cheers!!
Sir, would you recommend this guitar over Ibanez grg121dx. I believe both have same price
I would buy the Jackson, better build materials and the Jackson has a trem.
@@BenCoombs Thanks for recommendation🙂
Is it good for playing Nirvana and some grunge bands??😢
I've played metal to classical on it. Cheers!!
Yes,I think neck pickup is probably best for this kind of sound
I’ve been stuck between the JS-11 and JS-22. The specs on the website lists no difference whatsoever. Any insight?
The JS11 is a flat top, the 22 is an arch top. Also different fretboard inlays.
Should I pick this over the ESP LTD MT130?
Nice job as always. :)
Thank you! Cheers!
Amaranth is Purple Heart
This guitar is ideal for me but the tremolo lets it down massively, could you recommend a good affordable guitar with a decent tremolo?
Go with the JS32 which is a couple models up and has a locking trem.
Hi I've got the js11 but the tuning sucks, have bought the js32 hardtail green , with the maple top , oh my totally different guitar, if you can afford it go with the js32 .
If i dont use the whammy bar the guitar will be in tune longer?
Yes
Sounds great, I mean if Phil Collen swears by Jackson they must be good!
Thanks Rory!! Cheers!!
I made it all 7 minutes :)
Awesome!! Cheers Anthony!!

Due to the increased tension caused by the thicker strings you will need to add a spring or two to the trem system to maintain the balance.
@@BenCoombs so my best option would be to buy lighter guage strings. Due to the pandemic. My local music store has been closed for nearly a month now. Any trusted sites i may purchase new strings from?
Just need to tighten the spring claw screws at the back of you move to a lighter gauge string.
Sorry, need to tighten the screws if you move to a higher gauge string.

Nice ax for cheap can't go wrong there! You could always shave the frets down! ; )
The nut does need work, I actually like the frets lol!! Cheers man!!
I feel the same. I do not like whammy bars . Just not my thing. Thank you for your demo. I order one today. The Red one.
Congrats!!
Hi, how much does your guitar weigh?
Juz love Jackson...
Mine is....
Jackson PS1
Jackson JS11
Jackson JC22

No idea where the name came from.
Sir ,is it a right Guitar for a beginner ?
Please give a idea for buying a proper beginner Guitar . Am so confused about this matter . :) :(
It depends on the style of music you want to play. Very hard to explain this in comments. I recommend reading the others below.
@@BenCoombs I want to play rock type music like scorpions :)
There is nice white one on reverb ...$200.00 USD
Sweetwater was selling them for $150, quite the bargain!! Cheers Paul!!
OOPS! $200.00 CDN
Can someone suggest which guitar should i buy with $200 or $250?
If you are talking Canadian dollars I'd suggest one of these.
I took the riff more than the demo lol 😂 sorry about that.
LOL It's all good!!
mind just arrive but always out of tune if I'm play tremolo, please help me.☹️

I found a used one just like this one for $100 ,, should i get it ??
I'd snap it up at that price!!
If they're the same pickups that are in my minion V I'm going to get one I found one for 100 bucks
I LOST MY WHAMMY BAR AND YOU THROW IT AWAY. IF YOU DON'T NEED IT COULD YOU SEND IT TO ME? :)
I made it all 7 minutes
That's the best thing to do with EVERY whammy bar.
Khe?
Yeah this guitar has the worst tremolo
Yep.
Phil Collen played alot of shit
