Frank Warren - "100 per cent Tyson Fury will fight Oleksandr Usyk next"

- As the dust settles on the Fury versus Ngannou fight, and the Battle Of The Baddest event opening Riyadh Season, I discuss the event in its entirety with boxer Lucy Wildheart in the studio. I'm also joined by US writer Dan Rafael and promoter Frank Warren to hear their take on the fight and what could come next for both fighters.
Rafael believes Fury could fight Ngannou again and believes Fury vs Usyk is a completely different fight - 'styles make fights' - as we know.
Promoter Warren discusses the success of the event as a whole and thanked His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, for putting on the event in Saudi Arabia.
I give my run down on the undercard, and that perhaps we saw two winners on October 28 in the main event: Fury on points; Ngannou as a new force and a new people's champion.

Great insight from both! I thought Lucy was spot on with the lots and lots of thinking. I'd guess some of the low volume could definitely be attributed to at least Fury questioning and trying to find a way to land safely. A much higher level match-up than i expected for sure

Ngannou showed a few things. He naturally has better technique and naturally can adapt in a fight better than guys like Wilder, Chisora and Whyte. He had legit boxing background even if its not "professional" And people forget he spent 4 months training. Thats an extremely long time vs normal camps. Francis is a rarity not every mma guy is going to do this.

Tyson Fury had his wake up call! Like Ali v Wepner. Both Fury and Ali almost lost in what both men perceived as cash grabs. Unprepared physically and mentally. Tyson Fury will be prepared for Usyk. Fury for the win! Although, a victory over Usyk may be Fury's retirement swan song. Analogous to Joe Calzaghe's swan song victory over Roy Jones Jr. After Fury.reunites the belts; then, what more is there? Maybe a lucrative retirement exhibition bout career for Fury?

I thought Fury was lucky to get the win on the night and felt that certain judges on certain nights would have given it to Francis. At the very least Fury was taking a big risk leaving it up to the judges in a 10rd fight when he's had to get off the floor.....But watching it back with sober reflection, Fury did win most of the rounds with slightly more activity. Each round was pretty close, apart from the 3rd, but the majority of rounds were correctly appropriated to the winner.
Great heavyweights, in the 80s, 90s fought for Tital fights or defended there titals, 3 times a Year. Today they have a lot better facilities, nutritionist and everything for fitness and training than fighters had back in the day, so it's embarrassing that fury can't be ok to fight 8weeks after a 10 round WARM up fight. Pathetic

Westerners always seem to find excuses whenever one of their own is exposed. If Tyson Fury had completely dominated the fight, they would simply say that Francis Ngannou is nobody, incapable of fighting, and so on. It's clear that Fury is currently at the peak of his game.
