Gen Z may have discovered Aly and AJ's 2007 hit "Potential Breakup Song" in 2020 when it went viral on TikTok, but the actor-singers, born Alyson and Amanda Joy Michalka, have been working on their craft for over a decade. In their ASMR Interview, the sisters discuss roles on Disney shows like Cow Belles and Phil of the Future, getting their SAG cards in 2001, working on new music, and being raised in Southern California-a central source of inspiration.

Oh my god, I wasn't expecting Aly & AJ!! So nice to see them again + why are they so good at ASMR? This was soo nostalgic for me, I really looked up to them as a kid. Also yes, I blame Aly for my early-onset obsession with scarves and henleys.

This is like the Twin ASMR videos where there are two people at the same time but this was is without the CGI. Infact real people at the same time! It sounds really good.

I remember when I was a kid I was reading a Tiger Beat magazine and they had a quote about how Aly hated honey and I was like “omg wow crazy” and that fact stuck with me the rest of my life

They were some of my favorite celebrities as a kid. I went to Jesse McCartney concert just to see them open for him and then proceeded to sleep through Jesse McCarntey’s entire performance.

I’ve followed these two since 2005 and got to do a meet and greet with them back in 2019 and they were so nice! I love their new music!
I never ever liked any of the previous guests who did this bit..but these two are so cool!😄

AJ is correct about pop rocks (a W Magazine ASMR staple) being pretty useless in these videos, but for whatever reason her explanation of that fact is one of my biggest tingles in this video

I loved!!!!!!! This video!! I would highly suggest listening to the latest album “A touch of the beat gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun”!! It is so so sooooo good!! Every song is perfect and makes me feel happy to be alive :)

I absolutely adore them, my daughtergrew up listening to them and still does they were the only Disney singers/actors that I myself as a parent was able to stand they have a awesome dynamic and their sound is so multifaceted, they were such good role models for her and still are and I am greatful for that, they have grown into amazing grown women I'm so happy for all of their success. I still listen to their music. ❤️❤️🙌👑👑
