This was an animation test I completed for Nelvana Ltd. in order to transfer into the 3-D department. I had a week to complete the test (400 frames worth!), on top of my regular quota, and I'd never touched Maya before. Needless to say, it was a crazy week!
I began by following the storyboards as outlined in the test, but about halfway through (thanks mostly to lack of sleep) I suddenly decided to add a little extra action to the end. My new version of the test begins around when Manny says "Don't worry tools."...Watch for the "Backyardigan's" cameo! Luckily my operations manager had a sense of humour, and my "director's cut" of the test was accepted and I got the job in 3-D.
This was animated using Maya 7.0. I boarded and edited the extra sequence using Vegas Video. Enjoy!
