Queen is a British rock group created in 1971 consisting of: Freddie Mercury - lead vocals and piano Brian May - lead guitar and vocals John Deacon - bass guitar Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocals Queen produced 15 studio albums and numerous gold and platinum singles. They were one of, if the most, influential groups in the 20th century. Not only were all 4 members extremely talented musicians, all 4 members composed the songs that they performed and each of the 4 members wrote hit singles (that's something no other group can claim). Queen's stage concerts were amazing. Long before anyone else thought of it, Queen used lights, smoke, and sound effects to enhance their concerts from merely a show to a performance. Freddie Mercury is considered by most as the best frontman in rock history and his control of the audience is legendary. Their 20-minute performance at the legendary Live Aid concert in 1985 is considered the greatest live performance in rock history (yes, there is a youtube video of Queen's Live Aid performance). You need to remember that Queen was performing live without any of the enhancements that the performer use today like autotune. They performed just with their talent. Most of us consider the Queen live version of their music even better than their studio version. There are 100's of amazing Queen songs. Their catalog consist of not just classical rock, but hard rock, rockabilly, jazz, disco, funk, blues, gospel, ballads, opera, show tunes, thrash metal, folk-rock, alternative rock, r & b, glam rock, etc. They could perform anything and Freddie could sing anything with passion. Welcome to the world of Queen.
And while I'll agree about most of there live stuff being better then the studio version which them selves are amazing. This is the exception to that as far as I'm concerned. This the best studio version of a song I've ever heard I'm my life.
And the visual effects are Amazing today much less for the time it was done in. Nothing to flashy just enough to bring you along the journey and maybe trip you out a time or two.

Loving your reaction, but Number 1 rule: NEVER pause during a Brian May guitar solo. Never ever! But it’s your first time so you’re forgiven. ☺️ This song is a masterpiece, written in 5 parts. Intro, ballad, operatic section, hard rock and reflective coda. It is still one of the most well known songs ever, 45 years after its release. You only have to watch the crowd at a Green Day concert in 2017 singing this song when it came on the loudspeakers before the concert. 60,000 people who weren’t even born yet when this song was written, but they all know every word. It’s hard to believe you’ve never seen it, but I’m realising that there are actually people still around who haven’t. Thank you 🙏 for reacting to it. It cannot be allowed to be forgotten.

Amazing fact about Queens' lead guitarist Brian May. He was actually working on getting his Ph.D in astrophysics when Queen was formed. Music meant so much to him so he put his doctorate on the back burner. After Freddie Mercury died, Queen disbanded. Even while still part of the group Brian and his father designed and built a new kind of guitar. Brian's IQ has been measured in the 160's. That's even beyond Big Bang Theory smart. So he was a real genius on top of being a musical genius. after Queen disbanded, Brian went back to working toward his doctorate. He finally got it in 2006 or 7. He's now Dr. Brian May Ph.D. He's also written about 6 books on the subject of astrophysics. He's even worked with NASA periodically.
The perfect harmonizing is actually 5 layers of Freddie's voice. The other band members come on at thunder bolt & lightning. Freddie also created the entire masterpiece by himself . Genius.
Welcome to Freddie Mercury, the greatest songwriter, singer, musician, and frontman ever born. Freddie, was lead singer of Queen, which consisted of Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon. All 4 members wrote #1 hit songs and were incredible musicians. Most of Queen's songs have been used in television and movies up until this day. There will never be another band like Queen. I highly suggest Somebody To Love live at Montreal, 1981. Or we Are The Champions at the end of Live Aid in 1985. Other greats include White Queen live at the Rainbow and Love Of My Life live at Wembley 1986. Great reaction.

FREDDIE MERCURY was into opera, and this rock song incorporates the tragedy often found in that gendra, along with different music/story lines. I LOVE QUEEN!!!!
I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this before, but this song is about Freddie coming out as gay and telling his mother. The man he killed was the man she raised, the old him. It’s actually a beautifully worded song, especially when you understand where he was coming from. Also .. LOVE your reactions. Thank you 🙏🏻

@@RadJarrettTheIntrovert Got a year or so? 😂 Seriously, no bad songs by them! 20 years of various kinds of music and all of it wonderful Deep rabbit hole 🕳🐇
Freddie sang Opera. He was do musically gifted. Check his 85 Concert with 85,000. He was a true showman and owned the staged snd engaged with his audience. Died in 91 from Aids, we will always miss him but his music will live on
Most complex, well thought out composure in music history, in my humble opinion. A mixture of so many styles and genre's that absolutely worked flawlessly. I think everyone has that speechless reaction because it's nothing we've seen before or since. RIP Freddie Mercury
He’s talking about “killing” his past self when he came out to his family, not a physical murder. He didn’t want to disappoint his family but had to be true to himself & start living authentically. Great reaction! They are an incredible band!
@@billlindley2735 Freddie Mercury's long-time partner said that he was told BY FREDDIE MERCURY that this is what the song was about. I think that is pretty authoritative. The first part is talking about killing his straight persona and not wanting to make his mother sad, the operatic part is going to gay clubs, bars, etc. and how exciting/scary it was, and the final rock part is coming to terms with being gay and living proud ("so you think you can stone me and spit in my eye.")
You're high, the murder he talks about lead to the rest of the effing song, the fact that he had to leave and the whole "let me go" part. You cannot "kill" your past and Mercury knows this.
You just got a new subscriber from Sweden. I enjoy the way you're not screaming but actually reflecting instead. Looking forward to scrolling through your channel.
What I'm the happiest about is that I didn't watch your video until I'd already seen about 30 others. Jarrett, yours is the best!! Insightful, honest and coming from an obvious music connoisseur. Your constant smile as you listened to this masterpiece, sung by masters, and your very obvious love of the song make yours my favorite reaction yet. Thanks Jarrett.

Rhapsody means songs stitched together when used in a musical application, in essence stitching several different stories together into one, this is probably the ultimate Rock Opera song,
Don’t know about that, just also wanted to comment on the genuine sincerity in your reactions, this was the 2nd one of yours I’ve watched and I find your reactions real and heartfelt, others may be all wild and loud but yours is very genuine, from one introvert to another! :-)
Love it when you young folks discover what true talent is all about. Queen rocked my world in high school with this song. The harmony at the beginning is really Freddie Mercury singing all the parts and putting it together in the studio. He wrote this song and his brilliance left us too early!
As already suggested Queen-Somebody to Love- live Montreal- also Dragon Attack from same concert... and something also "innuendo" by Queen.. there are a huge number of songs that are spectacular.. Hope to see you react to more Queen!
Enjoyed your reaction. Welcome to Queen...the greatest rock band of all time! For some early Queen please react to Killer Queen, Top of the Pops 1974 - Queen’s first top 20 hit in the US. Also in the Lap of the Gods live at the Rainbow 1974.
Great reaction!! Amazing band with a massive catalogue. I really hope to see some more Queen. They were amazing live. I suggest 70's Stone cold crazy Live at the Rainbow or 80's Under Pressure live at Wembley. Much bless to you youngman.
I just love that I have another Queen Reactor. I get to play my Queen Reactor drinking game. You have to drink whenever one of the following gets said. 1. WTF happened there, or something similar (when the genre suddenly changes). 2. That voice (Freddie) is amazing. 3. That guitar player (Brian) is awesome. 4. How big is that crowd (just for Live performances). 5. I've heard that somewhere. 6. how does the drummer (Roger) sing that high. 7. anytime john deacon is mentioned. and for a double shot (I did not know Queen wrote that). It is a great way to get really drunk on your own without feeling bad about it.
Rad Jarrett...there's nothing wrong with being chill and low-key. I'm hyper and noisy, and I'm pretty sure I annoy everyone around me!! Stay chill....I enjoy your reactions!
We understand, Queen is more than music it's a journey that invades all you're senses with a message so eloquently put that never leaves you once you have experienced it .
Really enjoyed your reaction. No need to apologize for backing up or getting lost in the performance. It's what Queen does to everyone. You really need to dive into their catalogue because they are absolutely amazing and constantly surprising with the variety of their songs. Try Someone to Love live in Montreal 1981 and eventually the entire Live Aid performance. Don't let the length fool you because 20+ minutes spent with Queen goes by in what seems like seconds. Enjoy the journey!
The lead guitarist is Brian May, his guitar is 'Big Red' which he built with his father when he was 13. He is also a well known Astro Physicist with a PhD

I watched a documentary what Brian and Roger said they didn't even know what he was writing this about I never even asked him so I hate when people say it's his coming out song first-time listeners because none of us know that for sure and then they go tell people that's a fact when it's not
Especially since I’ve seen an interview with an old school friend or former band mate - can’t recall which - but according to them, Freddie started writing part of this song (Mama, just killed a man ...) before he joined Brian and Roger in Smile (to later be named Queen), met Mary Austin and perhaps realized he was bisexual/gay. This guy (I wish I could recall his name) spoke about it as Freddie’s “Cowboy song.” Freddie was such a private person and he never talked about the meaning of his songs - not even with the the rest of Queen. There may be some meaning behind it, but he also made up jibberish words for songs (Mustafa for the Jazz album) and I think that enigmatic part of Freddie is why people find him so fascinating 30 years after he died - that plus the talent, of course. As Sigmund Freud is quoted as having said, “Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.” There doesn’t have to be a meaning behind every song lyric - just enjoy the music. (My other pet peeve is people ascribing meaning to all Queen songs as being about Freddie when he just sang them and they were written by the other band members.)
@@annroberts2269 I totally agree so annoying he didn't like people knowing what was behind a song and he liked everything being left open to interpretation
Definitely agree with you. I also hate when folks are so sure about what it means. Maybe he just wanted to write a tragic opera, nothing about himself. Oops..did I just try telling what it was about...lol
My interpretation is that it was his struggle with coming out, he killed his old self and would he be judged by being his true sexuality. Great reaction! Thanks 💐
Freddie never explained what the lyrics were about, even to the band members, that was usual practice if you watch their interviews. Roger at one point said he thought it was obvious. He's never explained what he meant by that. With that said I find it appalling how casually Freddie's private life is bandied about. He would hate it, it's exactly what the press did to him and the rest of Queen through-out the years.

@@RadJarrettTheIntrovert Got a year or so? 😂 Seriously, no bad songs by them! 20 years of various kinds of music and all of it wonderful Deep rabbit hole 🕳🐇
Don’t worry about going back, any fan of Queen is happy to listen to the beginning over and over
Your smile and entranced expression said everything' for you 👍
🙏🏽 thank you!
Freddie sang Opera. He was do musically gifted. Check his 85 Concert with 85,000. He was a true showman and owned the staged snd engaged with his audience. Died in 91 from Aids, we will always miss him but his music will live on
Fact number three, with Queen: expect the unexpected
A masterpiece, away ahead of their time.
Most complex, well thought out composure in music history, in my humble opinion. A mixture of so many styles and genre's that absolutely worked flawlessly. I think everyone has that speechless reaction because it's nothing we've seen before or since. RIP Freddie Mercury
The very first music video EVER!!! Yes…Because of these fabulous artists we have music video’s 🔥
He’s talking about “killing” his past self when he came out to his family, not a physical murder. He didn’t want to disappoint his family but had to be true to himself & start living authentically. Great reaction! They are an incredible band!
🙌🏽🙏🏽
True story, he's ending his past life and starting over with the man he was meant to be! 👍
no. Reading too much into it.
You never have to apologise for rewinding Bohemian Rhapsody, it can never be played enough! ❤
The best “Rock Opera” ever.🎶🎶🎶💕💕💕🦋
Freddie the great
You just got a new subscriber from Sweden. I enjoy the way you're not screaming but actually reflecting instead. Looking forward to scrolling through your channel.
Really like your soft voice and calm demeanor. But much appreciation for the song, the talent, and great rock music!
Refreshing!
Hahaha.... “ The most beautiful murder story I’ve ever heard...” , that was great, and I get where you’re coming from.
😂 thank you!
When you threw your hands up, I knew you were hooked!😉🤘
Haha this is true
What I'm the happiest about is that I didn't watch your video until I'd already seen about 30 others. Jarrett, yours is the best!! Insightful, honest and coming from an obvious music connoisseur. Your constant smile as you listened to this masterpiece, sung by masters, and your very obvious love of the song make yours my favorite reaction yet. Thanks Jarrett.
Thanks Dave!
Loved your honest reaction. This song is a beautiful ride. This is my most favorite song to watch reactions to on youtube because it reminds me of my first time hearing/seeing it myself and how blown away I was; and you did not disappoint. Thank you and sub'd.
😩 thank you!
Best song ever
The guitarist you complimented is a genius. He’s an Astro Physicist!!!! Crazy
The beginning is all Freddie he layered his voice Queen is the Best band ever keep going. I subscribed 💛 never pause a guitar solo it's the law. Dr. Brian May on guitar.
Thank you! And honestly i was so drawn in i forgot i was even recording a couple times but i will remember that next time lol
DO not pause the guitar solo! Brian May wrote it, created it, composed it.
May, Taylor and Mercury did the harmonies but separately in the sound room. Feel free to look it up
@@reformedwheat5648 the beginning "is this the real life" ect. was all Freddie. the opera section was Freddie,Brian and Roger though
I believe Brian is playing "Red", a guitar he and his father built when he was a teen.
I can always see in your eyes how your feeling, and the look on your face says it all, you really don't need to say anything, although I love it when you do, you have such a wonderful, powerful, dynamic, distinctive voice, that when I hear it I immediately know it's you.
Rhapsody means songs stitched together when used in a musical application, in essence stitching several different stories together into one, this is probably the ultimate Rock Opera song,
Wasn’t there a music streaming service called rhapsody? I’m guessing inspired by queen
Don’t know about that, just also wanted to comment on the genuine sincerity in your reactions, this was the 2nd one of yours I’ve watched and I find your reactions real and heartfelt, others may be all wild and loud but yours is very genuine, from one introvert to another! :-)
One of the best genuine reaction I’ve seen. Great job!
Thank you !🤗
Love it when you young folks discover what true talent is all about. Queen rocked my world in high school with this song. The harmony at the beginning is really Freddie Mercury singing all the parts and putting it together in the studio. He wrote this song and his brilliance left us too early!
Multi talented 🙌🏽
Iv watched too many Bohemian Rhapsody reactions to remember. But this is the best and most genuine one I have watched. Thank you
Wow that’s a major compliment. Thank you! 🙏🏽
As already suggested Queen-Somebody to Love- live Montreal- also Dragon Attack from same concert... and something also "innuendo" by Queen.. there are a huge number of songs that are spectacular.. Hope to see you react to more Queen!
Thank you! I reacted to somebody to love in another video
Dude, I've watched a couple of your reactions now and I think you're great! You're very likeable. Keep it up!
Enjoyed your reaction. Welcome to Queen...the greatest rock band of all time! For some early Queen please react to Killer Queen, Top of the Pops 1974 - Queen’s first top 20 hit in the US. Also in the Lap of the Gods live at the Rainbow 1974.
Glad you found Queen!! Hope you continue with their catalogue!! ❤️❤️😀. Nice reaction!!
Great reaction!! Amazing band with a massive catalogue. I really hope to see some more Queen. They were amazing live. I suggest 70's Stone cold crazy Live at the Rainbow or 80's Under Pressure live at Wembley. Much bless to you youngman.
I just reacted to a crazy amazing live performance! Posting tonight 🙌🏽
😀 that sounds like my kinda game! Glad I could help!
Rad Jarrett...there's nothing wrong with being chill and low-key. I'm hyper and noisy, and I'm pretty sure I annoy everyone around me!! Stay chill....I enjoy your reactions!
Haha. Crazy enough i enjoy being around hyper ppl. I feel like they balance out the energies
Well done Rad,I could see you were struggling for words, there are none,it was a master piece. Your doing a great job. 👍
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Fact-Each member wrote No.1 hit song and only and only band in the universe
The lead guitarist is Brian May, his guitar is 'Big Red' which he built with his father when he was 13. He is also a well known Astro Physicist with a PhD
The opening harmonies are just Freddie singing on his own .
Impressive!
Nope... Mercury, May and Taylor sang the harmonies :) Look it up if you need to
@@reformedwheat5648 you look it up
@@juliannetomlinson I did :)
@@reformedwheat5648 ok must be getting wrong info thankyou
The beautiful Freddie Mercury, RIP, you're reaction was definitely on point, well done
Welcome to the Queen rabbit hole...you should do WHITE QUEEN, vocals from Freddie is great
You're hitting all the great songs!! Good for you my friend!! MUSIC IS SOUL MEDICINE!!!
🙌🏽🙌🏽
Live performances by Queen are the best.
They seem to be that way so far!
The Live Aid performance was amazing. But you need to hear Radio Gags, before you listen to that one.
This is my first time watching you and I must say that you are a breath of fresh air young man! Queen has many gems. Looking forward to the journey......
😽💋🎶
Thanks Christina! The journey is currently about 10 songs and has been amazing so far lol
@@RadJarrettTheIntrovert Haha! I'm a little late to the party! 😺Nothing new there. I was struck by your name for I'm an introvert too. Being on lockdown during 2020 didn't change my life's too much. Looking forward to following you. 😽💋🎶
You DON'T have to pause so often, you know, right?
BTW, there's a movie about the band by the same name as this song. They are legendary! 🤗👍
Goosebumps❤❤❤
@@marggie4129 lol right?! So annoying 🙄
You are so right because Freddie had been writing this song for years.
And Freddie said in an interview it was 3 songs he put together.
Imagine me as an eight year old staring open mouthed at the TV. Moves your soul don’t it.
Also in all Freddie interviews he would never tell anyone what his songs meant..it was up to you to decide
I like that he left it open ended
This is my second review video I’ve seen by you. And you have the best vibe ever. So happy to subscribe!
Awe thank you 🤗
Fact number two, don't pause so much during Queen videos. They do not block like some other groups.
They did with my reaction to white queen 😩 it’s currently in dispute
@@RadJarrettTheIntrovert I'm surprised. They usually don't
"they're so good you're over here condoning murder" - yeah, they were that good
The guitarist is Brian May, arguably the best guitarist in the game, he makes it look so easy and effortless
Thank you for sharing. Best song ever recorded. Who else does stuff like this? It's emotional and keeps you on your toes.
🙏🏽🙏🏽
My interpretation is that it was his struggle with coming out, he killed his old self and would he be judged by being his true sexuality.
Great reaction! Thanks 💐
Oh i never thought about it like that, maybe i just don’t know enough about them but that makes complete sense.
Please react to more Queen, Live Aid concert in 1985 will blow you away! 🥰
Love your chilled personality. You do your reactions in whichever way you feel comfortable. Just subscribed
Thank you Christine ❤️
Your voice and persona are so calm and soothing. I'm subbing for more of that smoothness
A superb reaction!!! I felt the same way the first time I saw this video. I was speechless for hours, I had to go inside my own soul to figure out all the feelings that were coursing through my veins.
I am absolutely delighted that u indulged in a Queen reaction. I can tell that u “get it” and recognize that
Freddie Mercury magic. I immediately subscribed to your channel in hopes that u will explore Queen’s vast catalog. Excellent reaction✌🏾
Thank you! I plan on doing at least 2 queen songs weekly 🙌🏽
Love your reaction ❤
Keep on... more Queen please.
I could see your brain slowly melting in your head, perfectly normal reaction to first hearing Queen.....:-)
Haha 🤯
I love your reaction because you're so mellow but yet so memorized.
I loved your reaction. The smile said it all. I could see that you had an immediate draw to this band like I have for decades. Freddie was amazing, and I value his singing, decades later.
Golden.
I felt you were genuine, which we don't always get with these videos. I'm subscribing after this 1st video for me. Keep it real..
Freddie The King Of QUEEN '!!!, WHAT A TRULY well crafted song.
This song ...Queens Opera ... Is indeed beautiful! Imagine being in a car with a bunch of friends & this comes on the radio! Minds freaking blown! I really like the way you react ... No starting with long winded BS about how great you are, no screaming & yelling., just real appreciation of the music
I know what you feel goosebumps all over naturally you just listened to the best masterpiece written by the musical genius freddie mercurry ever and has 1.2 billion views on RUclips so you are blowed away it's understandable like everybody who listen to it for the first time Brian may great guitarist just killed it great reaction 👍
So funny: "Whoever this guitarist is, he is killing the solo right now" 😂😂😂
I loved your reaction to this song. It was such an amazing song, and you're right it had its ups and downs. Great performance.

And you see his handwrithing, he see out on the Genève sea in Montreux......I shall to Montreux as fast as I can travel again. Mg you have so much unseen.....enjoy it.....luv 👑💕
I've watched a number of reactors see this for the first time, your reaction is very much typical - amazement. Imagine if you will that it is just before Christmas 1975 and I am watching Top of the Pops (a very popular music programme of the time) with friends when this song came on. We were gobsmacked, we couldn't pause it or listen again, just sit there entranced then go and buy it next day so that we could hear it again. I still have my original 7 inch vinyl single. Enjoy Queen, so many great songs.
Haha thanks Dave i love the imagery of how you explained that
I could see it all over your face. It's magical.
Saw this band Live twice The end of this song is How They sounded
good luck my friend. All the best
Thank you!
Dude! Thank you so much for such an authentic, detailed and obviously heart-felt reaction. I really appreciated how observant you were of what you saw, heard, felt, thought. When you share your thoughts you speak like a poet writes. If you’re not writing, you should start. And keep up the reactions - they’re fantastic! :)
Lol it’s actually amazing that you said that. I do have a poetry page. @radjarrett on Instagram 🤗
Freddie's version of an opera. Genius. ❤❤❤❤
You are beautiful, and so was your reaction🤩
