With the exception of the Visa I see no advantage in making it a "real sport". What about Olympics? Well. With the exception of South Korea and China (who are on the verge of taking the reign from SK), no country would be able to produce a competitive team. The competition is regionally based after all. Is it a real sport? Well.. Darts, Snooker and Chess are. Heck, even Curling has not really a physical aspect to it. You also might open pandoras box. F.e. should you allow gaming versions of real sports (NFL, NHL, NBA, Fifa, Martial arts...)? If you allow Heartstone, what about Magic the Gathering? I would say: fuck it. If anything make an esports olympic festival (some gaming conventions are already similar to it anyways).
You have an interesting point. Classifying esports as a "sport" will most likely make the advertisers less afraid to invest in the industry but there really is no tangible advantage besides that. The traditional media will push back no matter what. We do consider however that not giving esports players the same benefits as traditional athletes have, just because "they are not playing a real sport" is pretty dumb. Regarding the Olympics, we agree, we can't see a place for esports in that particular competition but not because it doesn't meet the standards but because it's way too different.

Seriously i havent even wanted it yet im a lyft driver/streamer. I just had onpull over and say i fucking love all of the teams work. You guys put so much effort into being a wide spectrum information source, incredible.
you actually can sweat alot playing a game! But where sports test the body, esports test the mind. Times are changing. Video games are very good for the mind alot of people dont think its an actual sport because you dont run around and potential hurt you are yourself, you wont be breaking your bones and cause bad physical damage playing a video game, just get exercise and give you eyes a break now and then and its already safer than sports
How do you guys keep up the pace ? I mean I'm a blogger and I make a post per week, and it is not even easy to keep that pace but you guys make awesome new videos each day and sometimes more than once a day, How many people are in the ALUX team ?
I did my 9th grade school presentation on esports, got a 100%, they said they were gonna use my presentation as an example for later years, so i got rid of all the evidence i had done the project :D
Chess, Go and other boardgames have professional tournaments and passionate players. ESport is just a futuristic extension of that exploration of passion. It is in a sense... "Mental Athletics" .

Yes Esports should be recognized as a real sport. The best organization to talk to on that particular level of athleticism would be optic gaming. Just look up the green wall. It's the Call of Duty esport. But during other Esports as well but Call of Duty is the main did they play
Isn't chess considered a sport (real question)? I think MOBAs are very similar except with an added element of team coordination. I believe E-Sports should be considered a real sport. :)
Well if you read the definition of the word, technically it is! The only diffecrence is when you perfrom it, you're sitting instaed of standing like most conventionnal one!
