+alonso alzua we substituted x = -1 from (x+1)^2 and D only had (X+1)^2 so we equalled it to 3 and solved it check 15:08 to see it in this video

Patrick, you are seriously my hero. I had a 77 in my calc 2 class. After discovering your videos I brought it up to a 92, letting my keep my 4.0 GPA. I have recommended your videos to all of my classmates and the whole class's grades went up. You have no idea how much help you have been to math students around the whole world. We are forever indebted to you.

thanks! You just saved me about an hour of head ache, my book just totally glosses over this step. So annoying, goes into to excruciatingly unnecessary detail about finding the LCD then skips this step entirely and the next step magically appeared. One line was all I needed! Thanks so much man!

@ClownDatWalk for the first year and first few hundred videos, it was simply just something to do; then google started its partner program so i do now get a cut of the ad revenue that google makes from my vids. it was never my intent to make money from the videos, just a nice opportunity that came up along the way. thanks to their program, i am able to cut back on my tutoring job which is why i have been able to post many more videos this past year

I don't think I was the only one who noticed, but I guess you got it wrong on the last part... It should be 3 instead of 0. I hope you don't do the same mistake again, but so far so good... you really are a good teacher and you did great tho. I really learned a lot on making up the tedious parts especially on doing manipulations. thank you patrick :)

hey, i believe you missed the coefficient of the constant value on the last problem. it should be B + 4C + 4D = 3 not equal to zero as you put. You may have just overlooked it as it was a long problem. Thanks btw for all these videos, i've been using them for the past three years (from high school to college) for review. @WithASideOfFries Calculus. This part is just basically algebraically manipulating a rational function into smaller rational functions. The main reason for doing this is to be able to integrate it more easily. Instead of integrating the huge rational function we had in the beginning, we integrate smaller easier rational functions.

Let x=-B/A=-3/2, then you get C=6/25
