As a greek, I simply love the fact that you are making a habit of visiting Greece and plane spot on airports like Skiathos and Corfu. Greek islands are full of interestingly tucked airports due to lack of space, so I hope we will see more of this. I would suggest you to look at Samos airport, which has an infamous right turn on final or Kefalonia that literally has a beach that you can swim right at the end of the runway.

Amazing video! I was there on vacation recently and when the wind is coming from the right direction, you can definitely feel the jet blast while standing on the bridge!

Retired pilot here, it was always interesting operating to/from Corfu especially at the night in the early hours when the stratus cloud was lurking in the bay and one's circadian rhythm was at its lowest point.

Bro that's one of the best vlogs you ever done ngl I've been to Corfu some times and got some early morning pics and btw greece has a problem with airport police and in some airports its illegal to photograph bcbthey are also used as air force bases like LGTS and others. Corfu airport once had a 777 landed ! Amazing video!❤

Oh no way, I was in corfu literally the last week, going to Albania with ferry. Saw the exact spot you sat at for your intro from my plane when we landed and took off
Edit: actually no way, I recognise that 3 engine falcon, was literally a plane in front of us for take off, maybe you where there the same day as we left, or maybe it’s a popular plane. Think it was same day, as I also recognise the cruise ship in the background of some shots!

Never thought that a silly donation of mine would snowball into a video. Corfu is the only greek island where you can be certain that a 5 star hotel is actually a 5 star hotel. Been to the airport twice personally and about 28 times professionally. I would honestly argue Kos Airport is more difficult, especially at night.
Just stayed at Kerkyra Blue resort, it’s advertised as a 5 star resort and it’s most definitely not a 5 star resort. 4 stars at BEST.
No, Roda beach resort for example is NOT a 5 star resort (personal experience). Been to better 3 stars

Planes use all the runway at all airports whenever they can. - it’s called derate and extends engine life. At corfu other things come into play for 34 - the ridge at the end of the runway and the massive mountains about four miles out on the extended centreline. I’m not a performance guy but i suspect a higher V1 and VR is used to get an accelerated climb for the 2nd, 3rd and forth segment climbs. And when it all goes wrong the emergency turn comes into play - “Right turn Clyde”!
Finally, another vlog! I can recommend going to Bonaire in the caribbians. The airport is a beautiful spotting spot, kinda like St. Maarten, but better in my opinion. Love ur vids :)

Very nice, the tower control the trafic lights. You can also see the power of the engines from the the bambo (other side of the road... where the police told you to move from).

Yeah, been a few times, both approaches, lovely island. Actually had to divert last time to Athens due to a storm and we were held at about 20k ft at a 45 degree angle to keep altitude during low airspeed whilst the pilots figured out their next move. Got a Thomas Cook landing there on my channel

I remember last summer I was there on vacation when the forest fire was beginning to calm down, we went to a car rental that was just in the end of the runway, it was so nice to hear the engines

i would identify that object as a Bee or Bug. it looks like a lump with tiny wings, and its insanely fast (in relative movement) - imho too fast for a bird and much too fast for any plane..

I went to Corfu last May. First holiday since 2017. I was really excited! Until I fractured my elbow 4 days before we leave. And it rained all week. So I spent about £1000 to sit in Corfu with a fractured elbow in the rain 🤦♀️. But my hotel was opposite the airport so I sat and watched planes for the week 😂
Ou should visit Larnaca Airport as well. There are really interesting planes and you can even stand under it while landing. Amazing Video!

Im actually quarter Greek (specifically from Corfu) and am currently here. We were planespotting there a week ago and even saw some rare takeoffs from Rwy 16 - we are flying back tonight on Jet2 Boeing 737-86Q G-GDFY.

And I have opportunity to go to town once a week and sometimes just plane spot for a while . Also there are two PZL M-18 (agriculture/fire fighting plane) stationed there which is kinda interesting for me since what are Polish planes doing here?

Hey Swiss, i was there i think 3 years ago, i swam in the sea near the Pontikonisi island and i am certain a 767 flew above my head, which i suppose is bigger than 757 :)

Been holidaying there on and off for 20 year's and have to say flying Britainia/Thompson Airways now Tui and the sadly defunct Monarch Airlines I can safely say those 757's with those RB211's are well up to the job at Corfu get in with the Jet2 fleet as they're retiring their 757's at the end of this year and for A320 and A321neo
