The second level is a glitch exploit that could have crashed the game as the barrel was a randomly generated object that didn't even skip the level. It set a flag that the level was complete and dumped the player out on map. Also you can't jump in midair with Dixie. First level of the second world he skipped the exit sequence. This isn't what I'd call a legit run. In my opinion exploiting glitches for a speedrun isn't a true speedrun. The legit ones take a lot of player skill.

I’m 37 years old now.. this music and gameplay instantly gets me emotional. DKC1 and DKC2 were the only 2 games that ever really impressed my father. I sat in my room and played games from when I was 5, until pretty much when I moved out. My father never came into my room and actually watched me play any of my games during all of those years…. But …. These 2 games? He was fascinated. He couldn’t get over the music, and the graphics. I felt such intense happiness when he would watch me play these games. I’d go through each level with a smile on my face. Out of the thousands of gameplay videos I’ve watched on RUclips, this particular game is the one that makes me cry. My father’s been gone for almost 12 years now, and I have 2 sons of my own, a 2 year old and a newborn. I’m going to make sure I spend so much time with my kids, and show interest in their hobbies. My father didn’t show very much interest in mine, or spend much time with me. I know I’ve gone a bit deep with this comment, but that’s how good this game was, and still is to me. It reminds me of that intense happiness I had while playing it. It reminds me of my father. This single game holds so much power over me. I absolutely need to get a retro pi set up with emulators, just so I can relive those days. 😢

Also, for a game series featuring cartoon monkeys, this is probably the most epic intelligently designed platformer every made. They just don’t make platformer games like this anymore. Beautiful art and sound. Pure skill and adrenaline.

What is the thing with the beetles and warp barrels. never seen that. and some of the normal ones like the first level of the second world, I think I would of found that I've 100 % beat this many times. maybe I just missed then. there were a lot more warps than I thought
Invisible barrel warps, you hold something that doesnt exist, jump in a barrel and warp the level or gain a lunch boost (at lunch barrels). The 2-1 lvl, he made the invisible barrel thing and jumped into a warp barrel (try jumping there youll find out)

In my opinion Donkey Kong Country Returns and Tropical Freeze are much harder than the originals.

Web Woods is likely my least favorite level in all of DKC2. I was thinking, "Oh, this level takes forever." And then, then it didn't.
Yeah, when he got to web woods, I prepared myself to be frustrated with how easy of a time he would have.
