- Stephen Kapos is an 87-year-old Holocaust survivor from Budapest who has been protesting against Israel’s war on Gaza, which he describes as not only genocide but a holocaust. Stephen is a member of Holocaust Survivors Against Genocide.
Stephen lost 15 members of his extended family in the Holocaust and his father was interned in Belsen & Theresienstadt. He settled in London but when he visited Israel was “shocked” by the racism exhibited by Israelis, including his relatives who had also survived the Holocaust. Stephen joined The Labour Party in 1997, becoming an activist and office-holder at various local levels. Stephen resigned from the Labour party, after penning a widely circulated letter, after the Labour party warned him they would “investigate” him if he spoke at a leftist organization on Holocaust Memorial Day. He is a member of Camden branch of PSC ( Palestine Solidarity Campsign ),Camden & Islington Momentum ( affiliate of the Labour Party) and lately of the small network ‘Holocaust Survivors and Descendents Against Genocide.’
Thank you for this interview. The voices of WWII Holocaust survivors should be cherished and preserved.
when they stand up against this Genocide yes, if they defend this Genocide and justify it because of a hate against arabs or Muslims no. Because just because you survive a Holocaust do not mean you have the right to justify a Genocide in Gaza.
what a truly decent human being.
Amazing job Katie.

You must have missed Katie making hilarious jokes all the time.
Never again doesn’t mean Israel gets to do it.
They were doing it in Palestine at literally the same time.

Most absorbing interview! Thank you!
Thank you Katie and your amazing guest for speaking the truth and exposing Israel crimes against innocent Palestinians civilians.
❤❤❤
Katie, I had the honour of meeting you and Stephen Kapos at the march in London yesterday together with the other brave holocaust survivors and their descendants standing up for humanity. As a Brit with Palestinian heritage it was a special moment for me. I cherish those moments that give me some hope for humanity. We are all citizens of the world. I am not a particularly religious person but "Love thy neighbour" and the ten commandments seem to me to be a good foundation for life on this small blue marble that we all live on.
What a beautiful soul...compassionate human beings like this give me some hope for humanity
Fantastic interview!❤

Thanks Katie -fascinating interview and conversation. What a moral compass and accurate reconstruction of this tragic page of history - he teaches us how we are a product of history but also how history and the knowledge of facts can liberate us.
Wonderful! 🍉🕊
Thank you, sir, for speaking up
Has he written a book? He should put down his memoirs, as he's not getting any younger! These things should not be lost. Katie..work with him on this?
Thanks!
What a wonderful man! And a true Jew!

Absolutely 💯.
BEFORE ZIONISM:
Jews and arabs lived side by side for over 2700 years in palestine, they used to babysit each other's babies and celebrated weddings, religious festivities together.
Love this guy !

“Do Not Use other genocides to describe this one”
I enjoyed this interview very much, since it is based on the experiences and the retrospect of an honest and authentic man. His stories fit also very well into my own experiences with zionists, christian zionists and jews, as well as many conversations I have had with German Nazi’s that took part in WWII. Therefore I discovered early on the similarities among nazi’s and zionists, their intolerance towards people that think differently from them. I find it painful to see how our corporate media and most western politicians still support the Israeli criminals. What makes me hopeful is the young generation (I am from 1947) that do not accept the zionist new holocaust and who demonstrate in the streets as long as that is still permitted, since fascism is growing! I believe in a one state solution, so the embandonment of the Jewish State that is the cause of all the wars in the Middle East. Palestinians and democratic Jews should create a normal state, maybe called “Palestine”, with equal rights for all citizens.
Thanks Katie, I appreciate your work very much
Thank yoiu so much, Katie, for this very special interview.. so much goodness, strength, compassion in everything Stephen Kapos shares... and your insightful, thoughtful questions so positive.

This man is just a remarkable person ...and for his age ...thank you Katie for another really good video
God bless this man and all his beautiful family! Usually those who have really been oppressed and wronged are the ones who sympathize the most with the suffering of innocent people and all the injustice they're facing. Completely the opposite of all the fake victims that hide behind a historical catastrophe to justify their atrocities and wrong doings! Thanks for the interview! STOP THE GENOCIDE IN GAZA NOW!

Katie, why dont you meet Owen if you are in London?
33:15 That's what I thought, that people who had gone through an experience of being harassed and abused would learn that no one should be treated like that.
The behavior of the Israelis is incomprehensible to me because they obviously didn't learn that lesson at all.
It didn't happen to them, it happened to their parents or grandparents.
@@famebrightstudio451 What difference does that make?
You would think that their parents or grandparents would have taught them better.
@@famebrightstudio451 precisely. The current generation of politicians is ultra-right wing and all about an "eye for an eye" . It's a tragedy, because many Israelis do not want this level of violence. But then they are shamed and even accused of anti-semitism, which is a standard label if you disagree with anything this government does.
They aren't the real ones they are imposters.
They're pretending to be
My maternal grandmother was a Parker, and somewhere, maybe on Ancestry, i read that rather a lot of jews who assimilated became 'Parkers'. .....
Thank you young woman, you do know, that will go in history, as a great young woman, who was doing the right thing forever.
maybe an off topic question, but Why are people who don't believe in Judaism calling themselves Jews? "Jews" are not a race. just like Christians, Muslims or Buddhists are not a race. i don't get it, please enlighten me. Is it more like an identity based on ancestry?
its political. Jews are a political people now
First of all ! I love the flag Steven. I think people should check out a man called Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro, who is an American Rabbi and the auther of the book "how Zionism hijacked Judaism " It is a must read folks. If you are confused over the blurry line between Zionism and Judaism go online and listen to his RUclips clips.

Quran doesn't mention the STATE of Israel does it @craigprince555?
The war in Gaza has the lowest civilian death rate in military history. The IDF has accomplished that even when the international community refuses to allow the Gazan citizens to evacuate the war zone. Egypt will allow massive terror tunnels to bring munitions into Gaza, but they wont allow Gazan citizens to evacuate to the Sinai. Unfortunately, the Gazan citizens allowed terror tunnels to be built under their schools, hospitals, and children's bedrooms. Gazan citizens are holding Israeli hostages. Gazan citizens have chosen war over peace for 75 years. Now they will suffer the consequences.
