I went to WnW the last summer it was open when I was about 9 or 10, broke my heart knowing I'd never get to enjoy it again; heart completely shattered over a decade later when I had to visit the high rises that bought the land for a job and found out almost none of them had ever been purchased/rented, let alone lived in. What a fucking waste of a useless money dump.

my Asian family and extended relatives went their during the 80s about 3 separate times and the favorite part for me there was the free popcorn when you go up that spiral walkway, that's just before you reach the arcade, where I spent most of my time way back when.

MGM and Ceaser's properties all have the same theming inside, so they're corporate-boring. For as run-down as Circus-Circus is, it still has a unique identity.
Pretty sure Excalibur is the last MGM property that is of any worth. Luxor is like a sandbox with syringes, the rest are so damn worried about being ‘modern’ they all look the same. Apart from that, if it stands out, it is overpriced. Never been disappointed or disgusted staying at either Circus Circus or Excalibur… but The Strat is a leap too far for me lol

However on the inside It’s like staying in a Hilton room for $40 a night. You cannot beat those prices. Lots of stuff to do in Vegas besides gambling.

What isnt mentioned is that the whole place smells like piss, theres no good food options inside the hotel, and the adventure dome is in a constant state of disrepair.
This is the only place, when I went, that had the 5 dollar blackjack tables all over. There were like 10. Always had a seat. Only place I ever won as well.
Growing up in Vegas in the 80-90's, Circus Circus was pretty freaking awesome it was the very first casino that made their "asthetic" and their entire theme that kids are drawn to it making parents happy.
I stayed next door in 1988 at what i think was called the Westward Ho. I lost all my money in the first day and had to fly home. I missed the flight by 5 mins and had to wait in the airport for 8 hours. I had no money to get my car out of the parking garage back home. The attendant gave me a break and had me drive out the gate behind the next car that left.
Gambling is not for you. Not everyone brain can be successful at it as it takes many skills (mastery of self to not be addicted or chase a win/loses, ability to think clearly , you know)
My family used to go to Vegas almost every year throughout the 70's - 90's, and always stayed there. It was so dope back then! I got to play keno when I was 10 while dining at the Pink Pony restaurant. I won, and was taught to tip my keno runner from the winnings (thanks, boomer mom! XD). My brosin cleaned out that midway of huge ass stuffies when he was like 3 (they provided large bags, and offered the bags to be delivered to my aunt's room). It looks like it has gone downhill a bit, but if I ever get to go to Vegas again, I'm staying there still. Campy kitch is 100% true Vegas! 😂
We moved to Las Vegas when I was 12 from England when my dad was assigned to the Thunderbirds. (Talk about both culture and climate shock.) My dad's CO picked us up from the airport and decided to take us to Circus Circus since I was a kid. My clearest memory of that was the overwhelming cigarette stench. I remember the games, but that stench was permeating everything, which was shocking to a kid from a fully non-smoking family. (Mom was and is allergic.) I liked Excalibur much more.
I thought about visiting Circus Circus but I heard bad things about it so I’m a little reluctant but then again if I go to Vegas, I might just for the hell of it. The last time I went there was about 25 or so years ago.
The Steak House was really good last time I ate there, about 5 years ago. I’d be interested to know if it’s still in operation and if the food is still as excellent as it used to be.
Most people just sleep in their hotel room anyway, and are on the strip or out and about but I live here and I do know that the worst hotel is the Oyo if they could just keep these hotels, clean professionally and upgrade once every 20 years lol
Definitely the oyo I gave my seat up on a flight going home last year due overbooking by the airline. They provided money and flight vouchers plus hotel for the night. Well that hotel was oyo and long story short I slept in a fetal position at the end of the bed in my clothes 😂
Stayed here as a 9 year old kid with my family for 4 nights in 1984. It was fucken awesome. Parents had to buy an extra suitcase to fit all the toys my sister and I won on the carnival games.
What I love is how he's avoided filming any of the outside of the very nice looking, very well kept building. I've been to Circus Circus. It's nice. You would be hard pressed to find a dirty hotel on the Strip, and even though it's close to the north end, it's still technically the strip.
So I’ve lived in Las Vegas for 30 years. When the Adventuredome opened it was super awesome. You could pay 15 bucks and stay there until it closed with unlimited rides. Fun fact it also used to be called Grand Slam Canyon. They had the best water ride but it’s been gone for several years now. The roller coaster there was my first ever as I was always so scared. So even if the rooms are… 🤮 worthy it’s always so nostalgic to go there. 😊awesome review.
I’ve honestly seen worse hotels. I recall dealing with one in Michigan that didn’t even have a plunger or mop for when the toilet got clogged and started to overflow because it wouldn’t quit running.
I stayed at Circus Circus when I visited Vegas last summer, and overall it wasn't too shabby. Good circus acts in the upstairs and I managed to win quite a few plushies in the arcade and got enough tickets for a cheap RGB keyboard
I think no matter how fancy of a hotel you go to if you bring a black light you're going to find something. It's not like a fancy hotel professionally steam cleans the carpets in between guests.
I remember staying there as a kid back in the 90”s. Do not know if they still have but I remember there being an arcade for kids. You could drop them off and they have highly trained supervision while the parents gamble. No charge for it.
We are staying the end of February here. Lol Two nights on weekend, only $8 a night 😂. We only sleeping in room, we will spend most of our time on the strip. Gives me extra money to gamble with. I guess I'm fine with it. We usually stay at the Venetian but that weekend nights start at over $300 a night.
There's no way you "usually stay at the Venetian " and is ok staying at Circus Circus. You just poor and just checked the prices at the Venetian, that's all.
the last time i was in Vegas, the service at Circus Circus is actually what ruined it for us. the hotel itself is far from the dirtiest and has been renovated more recently than a lot of the big Strip casinos, but the staff were just unfriendly and getting into the room took longer than just booking others at the nearby Residence Inn
I’m in my 40’s now and we used to go for a week after Christmas. It was the best and when they built the amusement park it was heaven! I met some cool kids walking around, playing games by myself when my older cousin wanted to hang out with his friends, without me. Getting all those stuffed animals in the car for the ride back to LA was hilarious.
You know, I've been hearing about the Circus Circus hotel's nastiness for a while now. They need to get buckets of soap and water and clean the place like it's about to go out of style. Then, follow up with Clorox Clean-up, or Microban, then PDI wipes. Plus, it is shame on the customers with intentions to trash the place.
I've stayed there many times. Its fine. 2 years ago I put a 100 dollar bill in a keno machine, cashed out 7,200 bucks. They're buffet is quite good, and The steakhouse is great.
Maaan, Circus Circus was the first one my family stayed at when i was a kid. In hindsight, it was just as low-end 24 years ago as it is now, but just the same, it had a kitschy charm that I still recall fondly today. I remember the midway games and the actual circus performance with some crazy stacked chairs.
Omg... 13 years old and going into Circus Circus with agoraphobia, claustrophobia, severe anxiety, sensory triggers, and a panic disorder. I got separated from my mom and I freaked. It wasn't just shoulder to shoulder. It was being crushed on all sides. My mom never took me into another casino ever again.
Stayed there for my birthday last October. It was horrible. The wallpaper was coming off the walls, and it was filthy with dirty hand prints. The floors were filthy and stained with dirt, grime, and who knows what else. The furniture was broken, and light switches were missing. It was really disgusting. Then, the hotel charged us an extra $500 as a resort fee when we checked in. We switched rooms 3 times, and every room they put us in was equally disgusting. The elevators only worked sporadically, and you had to wait 15 minutes or more for one to arrive. Downstairs, they only had three of the food court places open, and the Burger King wouldn't accept cash. They did have a Starbucks and a donut place open as well. We also saw solicitors in the room hallways shoving stuff under peoples doors. Honestly, it's kind of ok to gamble at, but I wouldn't ever stay there again. I would have gone elsewhere on the first night if I hadn't pre-paid.
No one ever mentions the 200-300 hold the property MUST have *without children mind you. On TOP OF the extra resort fees!! they will require you pay for incidental expenses. Mind you their hotel looks like this. I understand the fee if you have children but if you don’t? I mean- if I’m gonna do a rager I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be at circus circus 😅 I would never stay there again. It needs to be extremely updated or demolished and a new hotel needs to go in its place. It’s time…..

i love that there is still a hotel with an identity on the strip. theming is so cool!! i managed to miss the entire midway section when i finally got to stay there as an adult. i always begged my parents to stay there as a kid, feels like i missed out on when it was in better shape
The circus circus in Reno has a very similar reputation when it comes to the rooms. However, the midway arcade and the circus acts are still fun for my children when I bring them there
Literally my first hotel I've ever stayed at Vegas, the amusement park attraction was by far the coolest part of it all alongside the massive arcade. Looking back at it now, I wouldn't say its even that bad of a hotel, but it could seriously use an update.
My dad picked Circus Circus knowing I was terrified of clowns. I was shaking in my boots all the way into that building. My little brain believes this was the birth place of clowns 😂
Growing up in Vegas, that was the best hotel. They used to have a huge Halloween themed event for middle school to high school aged kids every year at Adventuredome.
I remember the first time I went to Vegas. I was traveling from SoCal to Denver and, as they say in the song "Hotel California", I had to stop for the night. I thought staying at Circus Circus would be more spendy so I got a room at the establishment next door, Travel Lodge Travel Lodge.
The problem with circus circus isn't really the run down hotel, it's the people that stay there. You have just as high a chance at winning the jackpot as you do getting stabbed during your stay.
Sadly last time my family went both our rooms were never cleaned. Showed up at nearly 10pm and walked in to our rooms and it looked like the previous people had done a rush job leaving 5 mins prior with how messy both rooms were.
I used to love going to the amusement park as a kid. it does get a bit sketch in there bc you can feel the ground shake whenever the Rollercoaster was on the tracks😅😅
The El Cortez was really good for being so affordable. Last time I stayed there was at the end 2014. I remember how cool it was,I was a huge fan of SoA and Mark Boone apparently frequents it a lot, though I didn’t run into him.
Used to love Circus Circus as a little kid. The arcade (not midway games) used to be right next to the candy shoppe. The whole arcade smelled like the candy being made next door. It is one of my favorite childhood memories.
Adventure Dome (the theme park in the back) is the only good thing about Circus Circus. If the whole place is brought down, my only wish is they keep Adventure Dome. Fun fact - it turns into "Fright Dome" around Halloween and all the rides and theme change to horror theme - pretty great for people who like Halloween.
I remember going there as a kid in the 90’s-early 2000’s. It was fun. It does need some remodeling because it doesn’t look like much has hanged since then.
If they cleaned it up and gave it a nice refresh it'd be a perfectly acceptable hotel to stay in. No other casino-hotel has as many affordable attractions. The food options could be given a major overhaul though.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was clean and everyone was friendly. A bit tired and old but nothing i was worried about health or cleanliness wise.
All it really needs is a small update, just clean everything and make it more welcoming and it would be a pretty cool place for a group of friends or a family

My Grandma grew up during the depression (just so you know how old she WAS). Now my grandma raised me so obviously I spent a lot of time with her and she always told me the circus circus hotel was the best one in Vegas. Now this was probably back in the 1940’s or 1950’s honestly. Could not tell you the last time she went but she never went while I was alive so before 1977.
We would stay there as a family in the 70’s. The kids and dad would be on the level with all the games for kids and there was regular circus acts. My mother won a huge pink panther stuffed toy for my daughter who kept it for years. Circus circus was fun back then.

Circus Circus is an old hotel that definitely need a remodel and redecorating not demolishing. Good place for kids and families.
The theme is awful - circus doesn't really fit with the rest of the strip, but particularly CLOWNS is the worst part.

Circus Circus is unironically my favorite hotel in Vegas. Cheap rooms, decent bar, big arcade and an amusement park makes it the best in my opinion.
You did not stay in the ones to the side. You stood in the actual hotel rooms from the main casino. Go to the side ones that look like apartments

You should have at least tried the steak house. One of the oldest in Vegas and very good.

There's no way you "usually stay at the Venetian " and is ok staying at Circus Circus. You just poor and just checked the prices at the Venetian, that's all.

the last time i was in Vegas, the service at Circus Circus is actually what ruined it for us. the hotel itself is far from the dirtiest and has been renovated more recently than a lot of the big Strip casinos, but the staff were just unfriendly and getting into the room took longer than just booking others at the nearby Residence Inn
I’m in my 40’s now and we used to go for a week after Christmas. It was the best and when they built the amusement park it was heaven! I met some cool kids walking around, playing games by myself when my older cousin wanted to hang out with his friends, without me. Getting all those stuffed animals in the car for the ride back to LA was hilarious.
You know, I've been hearing about the Circus Circus hotel's nastiness for a while now. They need to get buckets of soap and water and clean the place like it's about to go out of style. Then, follow up with Clorox Clean-up, or Microban, then PDI wipes. Plus, it is shame on the customers with intentions to trash the place.
No way they ever will, the place costs pennies to run at this point and people come anyway.

I loved the Circus Circus back in the days of 80's and 90's...So much fun and good memories and also witnessed paranormal activity there.
My memories of circus circus from 2001 feel like a fever dream. I remember seeing the sketchiest bunjee jump set up.
As a kid who grew up in Vegas, Circus Circus has a special place in my heart, mostly due to Fright Dome...RIP.

I've stayed there many times. Its fine. 2 years ago I put a 100 dollar bill in a keno machine, cashed out 7,200 bucks. They're buffet is quite good, and The steakhouse is great.

it’s what the state of Nevada is known for is their only theme park called the adventure dome made in the 90s still kick ass this day
Maaan, Circus Circus was the first one my family stayed at when i was a kid. In hindsight, it was just as low-end 24 years ago as it is now, but just the same, it had a kitschy charm that I still recall fondly today. I remember the midway games and the actual circus performance with some crazy stacked chairs.
I’m fond of it cause it’s where me and my brothers all got portraits done of each other when we were babies
The OYO… and then the Rio… both aren’t doing nearly half as good as circus circus

Omg... 13 years old and going into Circus Circus with agoraphobia, claustrophobia, severe anxiety, sensory triggers, and a panic disorder. I got separated from my mom and I freaked. It wasn't just shoulder to shoulder. It was being crushed on all sides. My mom never took me into another casino ever again.

Stayed there for my birthday last October. It was horrible. The wallpaper was coming off the walls, and it was filthy with dirty hand prints. The floors were filthy and stained with dirt, grime, and who knows what else. The furniture was broken, and light switches were missing. It was really disgusting. Then, the hotel charged us an extra $500 as a resort fee when we checked in. We switched rooms 3 times, and every room they put us in was equally disgusting. The elevators only worked sporadically, and you had to wait 15 minutes or more for one to arrive. Downstairs, they only had three of the food court places open, and the Burger King wouldn't accept cash. They did have a Starbucks and a donut place open as well. We also saw solicitors in the room hallways shoving stuff under peoples doors. Honestly, it's kind of ok to gamble at, but I wouldn't ever stay there again. I would have gone elsewhere on the first night if I hadn't pre-paid.
No one ever mentions the 200-300 hold the property MUST have *without children mind you. On TOP OF the extra resort fees!! they will require you pay for incidental expenses. Mind you their hotel looks like this. I understand the fee if you have children but if you don’t? I mean- if I’m gonna do a rager I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be at circus circus 😅 I would never stay there again. It needs to be extremely updated or demolished and a new hotel needs to go in its place. It’s time…..
After being black out drunk and being told I took a piss in the hotel room carpet, I started to think about what other worst things people have done in hotel rooms

Circus circus reminds me of my childhood, my fam would get another hotel near by but we would still go to circus circus for their adventure park and that arcade brings back so many memories 😢
i love that there is still a hotel with an identity on the strip. theming is so cool!! i managed to miss the entire midway section when i finally got to stay there as an adult. i always begged my parents to stay there as a kid, feels like i missed out on when it was in better shape

The circus circus in Reno has a very similar reputation when it comes to the rooms. However, the midway arcade and the circus acts are still fun for my children when I bring them there
Literally my first hotel I've ever stayed at Vegas, the amusement park attraction was by far the coolest part of it all alongside the massive arcade.
Looking back at it now, I wouldn't say its even that bad of a hotel, but it could seriously use an update.
My dad picked Circus Circus knowing I was terrified of clowns. I was shaking in my boots all the way into that building. My little brain believes this was the birth place of clowns 😂

My family stopped by Las Vegas when we left California on a three week vacation in 82. Amazing to see the old Circus is still there.
I’ll never forget going to adventure dome for homecoming when they still did frightdome and watching numerous fights break out in the parking lot.

Growing up in Vegas, that was the best hotel. They used to have a huge Halloween themed event for middle school to high school aged kids every year at Adventuredome.

I remember the first time I went to Vegas. I was traveling from SoCal to Denver and, as they say in the song "Hotel California", I had to stop for the night. I thought staying at Circus Circus would be more spendy so I got a room at the establishment next door, Travel Lodge Travel Lodge.

The problem with circus circus isn't really the run down hotel, it's the people that stay there. You have just as high a chance at winning the jackpot as you do getting stabbed during your stay.
Sadly last time my family went both our rooms were never cleaned. Showed up at nearly 10pm and walked in to our rooms and it looked like the previous people had done a rush job leaving 5 mins prior with how messy both rooms were.
I always stay at the Casino Tower; always enjoy my stay. Love the nostalgia!!!

I used to love going to the amusement park as a kid. it does get a bit sketch in there bc you can feel the ground shake whenever the Rollercoaster was on the tracks😅😅
The El Cortez was really good for being so affordable. Last time I stayed there was at the end 2014. I remember how cool it was,I was a huge fan of SoA and Mark Boone apparently frequents it a lot, though I didn’t run into him.

Used to love Circus Circus as a little kid. The arcade (not midway games) used to be right next to the candy shoppe. The whole arcade smelled like the candy being made next door. It is one of my favorite childhood memories.
Adventure Dome (the theme park in the back) is the only good thing about Circus Circus. If the whole place is brought down, my only wish is they keep Adventure Dome.
Fun fact - it turns into "Fright Dome" around Halloween and all the rides and theme change to horror theme - pretty great for people who like Halloween.
I remember going there as a kid in the 90’s-early 2000’s. It was fun. It does need some remodeling because it doesn’t look like much has hanged since then.
If they cleaned it up and gave it a nice refresh it'd be a perfectly acceptable hotel to stay in. No other casino-hotel has as many affordable attractions. The food options could be given a major overhaul though.
It's a landmark. Most other old casinos have been destroyed. Glad it's still there
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was clean and everyone was friendly. A bit tired and old but nothing i was worried about health or cleanliness wise.

I stayed there years ago, and the room was very clean and we had no problems. We were hardly ever in the room anyway, and the price was really cheap.
Used to go to circus circus all the time to the point where i didn't get super surprised when were going, the only time really where i was excited was when we went to the adventure dome
My Grandma grew up during the depression (just so you know how old she WAS). Now my grandma raised me so obviously I spent a lot of time with her and she always told me the circus circus hotel was the best one in Vegas. Now this was probably back in the 1940’s or 1950’s honestly. Could not tell you the last time she went but she never went while I was alive so before 1977.

We would stay there as a family in the 70’s. The kids and dad would be on the level with all the games for kids and there was regular circus acts.
My mother won a huge pink panther stuffed toy for my daughter who kept it for years.
Circus circus was fun back then.
