  • "We sometimes say that the arts can soften some of the harder edges of the healthcare experience in ways that nothing else really can," said Claire de Boer, Director of the Penn State Health Arts in Health program. Claire and the others featured in this video so beautifully illustrate the value of infusing the arts into the delivery of care for those receiving treatment for cancer and their loved ones.
The Penn State Cancer Institute Arts in Health & CARE Center have created a new partnership, one that is dedicated to support and sustain arts related programming within the Penn State Cancer Institute. A cornerstone of this partnership is the launch of a new quarterly program entitled, "A Night at the Cancer Institute: The Arts with CARE," on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 6:00 pm. For more information, please contact: Keeley Engle, Penn State Cancer Institute Arts in Health Coordinator at kengle@pennstatehealth.psu.edu.
For its part, the THRIVE for Life Foundation (thriveforlife.me) is delighted to provide philanthropic funding to help support and sustain the PSCI Arts in Health & CARE Center Partnership. It does so through its signature fundraising events, such as GOLF4THRIVE and Cooking for Cancer. Visit THRIVE's website to learn more about who We Are, what We Do, and - so importantly - why It Matters.
THRIVE’s 2024 fundraising theme - "If you want to go far, GO Together" - underscores how important each of our donors are to fully realizing our vision and mission - driving philanthropic support to the Penn Steate Cancer Institute CARE Center. They and others of like mind and heart enable the CARE Center to continue to flourish and expand its whole person, personalized programs and services... CARE tailored to the unique needs of each individual and their loved ones. We Are forever grateful and thank you for your support.
