Stoked to see Tye Conklin! He was a shipmate of mine during boot camp in company Q-150. He was a a physical beast during basic training. Bravo Zulu, Tye!
always praying a successful rescue and safety when i see the orange coast guard heli fly over. you guys are the best mad respect to our heroes helping us on the water!
Amazing video! Love how you spent time engaging with the crew and learning what it takes to make the mission happen. Thanks for showing everyone what we do in the Coast Guard!
Rob, I wait for your videos with great anticipation and they never disappoint. If Numbskulls put out even 1 video per month, this channel would blow up.
Back in the late 90’s the AST (rescue swimmer)and I decided to recreate the ride in the dryer scene from one of the Momentum videos on board the ship. Let’s just say it did not go well. And after two years refueling (then HH65’s) I finally got to go for a ride off the coast of Guatemala, hanging out the door at sunset taking pictures. Killer experience!
I’m aircrew fixed wing in the navy and they have aircrew rescue swimmer and the training is pretty gnarly pool wise, but the coast guard gets all the action I could just imagine the training they get super awesome!
Love it, I came out of Cape May in 87- spent 8 years as a 44 coxswain in Oregon. I always working ops with the ASM's (AST's now). Can you please advise what type of watch Austin C. is wearing?
Hey mate!! Haha I’m stoked someone noticed my watch!! I tried to respond earlier but I think since I posted a link, it got deleted. I actually was a jeweler for a few years throughout college and now I’m a big watch collector. When I became a swimmer, I wanted something to celebrate the occasion, and I actually designed and built that watch myself! Using a Seiko movement. It’s got 15 minutes on the bezel in red with “ Turned before flight” Inscribed on it, followed by the Coast Guard stripe to finish it off. This is because every 15 minutes we have to relay ops and position to sector while flying. On the dial has our rescue swimmer wings at 12 o’clock, and at 6 o’clock it has our motto “ So others may live” And just below that I put my rescue swimmer number. I don’t know if you’re able to send a message or anything, but if you’d like to see some pictures let me know! Thanks for asking!! I can’t believe anyone picked up on that!
So legit the coast guard was open to this. Those dudes are heavy
Seriously!
