    Air frier is just a convection oven so you've independently discovered reverse searing.

      I think the point still stands, it's a more convenient convection oven. It's awesome, I once cooked an entire quail inside of one of those things. Best bird I've ever eaten.

      Thanks ben shapiro. Other than dummies everyone already knows that. Air fryers are smaller and thar makes them faster at pre heating and they save gas. Plus more convenient for cleaning

      @@heyitsthisguy420 no it’s not lol. Searing is just putting a color and crust on the outside. Cooking is getting a piece of meat to finished desired temp, big difference. If you just sear a steak, it wouldn’t be cooked

      @@nbashgshgshgshg9204 Not all steaks are expensive you just don’t know what you are doing or don’t know how to shop .For instance if you buy a prime rib roast with a coupon or a sale near a holiday it’s quite cheap considering that it can be cut in to 3-5 stakes. You well be paying less than 8 dollars per steak some times . But currently prices are sky high 📈 so do your research before putting someone down for having something you don’t because you haven’t worked for it . Lastly medium rare is the best way to how because it’s incredibly tender and still holds a lot of juices .

      I inverse seared my steak once. Cooked on a pan at 230-240c/450-460f. 90 seconds per side, then if heat and added butter, thyme and garlic off heat.
      Rested for 10 minutes and zapped in the micro for a minute. Rested again, was very tender and good colour. Thin/outer area was a little over done.

    I normally use my pellet grill then sear on the stove but it’s snowing out and cold af so tried your method and and came out amazing. Even my son the steak connoisseur loved it. Thanks bro! 💪

      This is more efficient, reverse searing will warrant a better end result. Utilizing convection/air fryers makes it cook faster. Not utilizing convection allows the fat to render more, resulting in a juicer steak. This is a commonly overlooked benefit of reverse searing without convection.

    I did this 2 days ago hadn't seen this video but I did salt pepper then seared it first then air fried 2 mins each side. Finished with garlic butter it was bangon the fat was cooked all through melted like butter. Definitely be doing it again.

      If it's the right type it'll be nothing but oil, no propellants or additives. They do this by having the oil in a bag in the can, and then pressurizing the space between them. It's the only oil spray anyone should use for cast iron or non-stick.

    Yeah, nah. I hate to echo some other comments but all you did was reverse sear it , and it can be done on more than an air fryer. Also, some of us prefer the taste that comes with grilled steak.
