Thanks for the share. Amazing work your Institute did for the times it was a engineering marvel. Imagine what that team of people could have done if they had a raspberry pi and a Xbox Kinect camera
This is eye opening. I recall about 1972 watching a reel to reel about the robot and blown away by a Dave Brubeck classic “Take Five” in the background! Just book read review of The Long History of the Future by Nicole Koble & there it was recalled the intro of Shakey w/Brubeck’s amazing music in the background ♥️Sweet memories!
An innovative design and implementation that paved the way for modern robots and navigational systems, great work SRI team 😃

Awesome video, total admiration for this team, thank you for such a great legacy! Kind regards.
Imagine watching this during the AI apocalypse!
Impressive. My AI instructor suggested looking at the video.
And we still don't have personal android assistant's, dang our AI is still mostly at the same level as as it was in 1966 in terms of functionality.
I
AM
SEARCHING
FOR
THE
FIRST
ROBOT
EVER.
THIS IS NOT THE FIRST ROBOT! I AM LOOKING FOR THE FIRST AI ROBOT, LIKE ERIC THE ROBOT
Search on cybernetic/biomimic fields but I don’t think they are AI robots
Eric the Robot was basically an animatronic, it wasn't real AI. Shakey was the first to actually be able to see, think, and navigate it's environment.
@@somewhereinspace2166 Trust me. This is THE AI. ;)
Steve Duda brought me here.
Some algorithm brought me here
why is it that the shit we saw in school like this is so old
John Connor brought me here.
Neo entes, Miklos Lukacs❤
My Exam got me here!
first
Yes, Shakey is the world's first robot to embody artificial intelligence.
