This is a parody of law firm commercials. I do not speak for Ross Scott or the Stop Killing
Games campaign. I am simply a big fan of The Crew and support the campaign. I am not a lawyer and this is not a real commercial.
A law firm commercial about the crew in Spanish would be highly appreciated.
And slovakia
French. Ubisoft is in France, French people should see this first.
Hola, Como Estás? Yo esto bien.
I would be willing to help as a native speaker
@SigmaRho2922 I'm from a Spanish speaking country and I work as a narrator. I could help if this is made a possibility
I used the Crew debacle in a college paper in support of widespread piracy.
That kind of misses the point. You CAN'T pirate the crew. Or any online only game by design without server emulation which is almost impossibly difficult with closed source stuff like this.
@@ChuckleDuck My argument was that the dedicated server was a form of DRM, meaning that, as the law is now, it's illegal to create a private server.
@@fishactivation5087 It's such a shame because The Crew was one of my favourite games on the PS4
I had 100 something hours on my first account before it got banned and like 30 hours on my account now.
The story was good. It's a shame I never got round to finishing it.

destroy game -> make everyone mad and unable to play -> someone pirates game so you can play -> ubisoft sues guy who pirated it -> perfect recipe for spiting in players faces
Games are dead and will never go back, we wont be happy even if we own nothing
I wish games were just made eligible to enter the public domain. Piracy should be fully justified if the content provider has no means of giving you what you want to buy in the first place, hell it shouldn’t even count as piracy at that point.
I don’t disagree with you there, but even if The Crew was public domain, that wouldn’t fix the game
There would need to be something along the lines of community-run servers.
@@jakediditagainfinally a take people can agree with because someone misinterpreted it as "piracy is better than it being available for public domain"
Videogames can enter the public domain, 95 years after they are released, only around the year 2060 that we will have the first public domain videogames, and at first, only stuff like Pong.
@@notlNSIGHTit's funny cuz ALOT of games. Even some popular ones use community ran servers. And yet still bring in a decent amount of money.
Should have added a Canadian segment too which consisted of Shrek's scottish accent telling you to sign the petition
LMAO
I checked with some people and UK/AUS is basically all I can do for now.

The perfect movement to make a comment to assist in algorithm awareness for.
Games are a form of art, history, and culture of their own. To lose that would be a travesty.
I like how we now have a recent example of a game that DIDN'T do this: Little Big Planet "shut down," but you can still play single player and even online levels if you previously downloaded them
Gran Turismo Sport even more so. It was just like The Crew before shutdown, but they implented an offline patch right before servers went down.
@@jakediditagainMore proof Sony is a better corporation than Boobysoft
@@hotel_arcadia mfw Helldivers 2 on PC now forced to require PSN account
Media Molecule actually had a valid reason to shut down the main server, it was being hacked constantly. I blame Sumo Digital, the problem started when MM hired them.
Knockout City should be mentioned here as well, their servers shut down back in June of last year but Velan (the devs) released a completely free version of the game on PC with dedicated server support and everything unlocked, so as long as someone has a server up you can play it to this very day. Not only that, but they had completely patched out the monetization aspects of the game about three months before the servers actually did go down so for the last few months you could earn almost every cosmetic in the game if you played enough (this was before we knew the Private Server edition would have everything unlocked.) It's a shame they weren't able to bring this edition to consoles as well, but I guess Sony and Microsoft didn't want a piece of the non-existent pie...
Time to uno reverse ubisoft, TAKE BACK OUR MONEY, BRING BACK THE CREW
They don't even bring back our money, they keep it.
Ironically enough, they own the current version of UNO as well! I was wondering why I was having such a hard time connecting to servers!

What a great comment. I think that *insert relatable statement* may need consideration.
Yo, this analog horror series must have Ubisoft scared shitless.
analog horror?
It does give that feeling
@Yokaisan23 I know, especially the motorfest demo reel tape he did.
@@HarrisSPKThere's these videos and the "Don't Let the Light Out" PSA that both serve as legitimate real-world messages for the StopKillingGames initiative, then the "Motorfest Demo Reel" and "Away From America?" videos that were recently posted that serve as a more "off-the-rails" analog horror.
This dude should be hired in Hollywood
so true.
Today's Hollywood? I wouldn't

Analog horror... but this time it's really happened
The background music sounds familiar. From those old Goldwater commercials. Haven't heard that song for years until now.
oh man, this brings back childhood memories of seeing these lawsuit ads. great job dude, and i am glad that this movement is having an effect
Yep! Mid 2000s - Present.
Yall Pretty smart move to make Protest against ubisoft look like a analog horror.
I wonder if it's possible for someone to mod the crew so that it works on community servers, or even peer-to-peer?
Already happening, check out The Crew Unlimited on Discord!
@@jakediditagain will do, thanks for the tip.
I wish there was somebody doing the same thing for MAG on the PS3. One of my biggest regrets in life is that I couldn't get a PS3 fast enough to play it myself.
This is why any live service game needs a dedicated offline mode to keep the fun alive
Make this run as a real ad on tv
Someone needs to start posting these videos about actual ads across RUclips. It needs a bigger signal boost.
Gonna be hard with the AI voices and use of Whitehardt's music. I don't make a dime off these so an actual ad would be hard.
@@jakediditagain Those are AI voices? I just thought you used the actual voice actors from those old 2000s PSA or you used Sentence Mixing. I really couldn't tell.
@alyxgraff9121 All AI. I couldn’t really do the content without them. I usually dislike AI and how it’s used (since it’s usually in replacement of a person with actual creative direction) but in my case with this series it’s just another tool like Photoshop. It’s all listed in the description.
@@jakediditagain Try remaking these videos without AI voices, try getting a license to this music, and someone with a lot of money may help you paying to show these ads on RUclips, or even on TV channels.
@@silverdamascus2023 That someone would have to come forward first, but I’d be willing to do so if there was an opportunity
For the people talking about Helldivers 2, it's a much smaller problem, you can still make an account to keep your game, and while there are countries where PSN is not available, many are complaining in countries where it is.
But in the end, it's through _"It's just a small problem", "It's not a big deal"_ excuses that we get The Crew's servers shut down and not owning our games.
Like how am I supposed to show off the car games that made me to my grandchildren. You stole memories I haven’t even been able to create yet.
I'm sorry.

Another great video. I guess you could say... Jake did it again!
I’m curious if this campaign will only be for games that are entirely killed with server shutdowns or soon if games with most features being online will join in as possible evidence. Games like Splatoon 1 on the Wii U does have an offline campaign, but the main online feature has recently been killed. I wonder if a game like Splatoon could also be used as evidence here. Great work again!
It has single player which can be played without any modding, so no. People have brought up so many games but The Crew is such a rare case at AAA level and that’s why SKG was started in the wake of its shutdown
@@jakediditagainThat makes sense. Thanks for clarifying, and keep up the good work!
I absolutely love the work you're doing here

Awesome! If only this kind of content could be made under less dire circumstances.
On the contrary, this kind of content could only be made _because_ the circumstances are this dire.
It’s a full on WORLD WAR against Ubisoft. This is insane! Awesome work!
Making a game inaccessible to play is like burning a library. #stopkillinggames

I was recommended this after watching Big Bill’s Hell.
Ubisoft will pay! We the people will rise!
This dude just keeps on delivering
I'm from 100 years in the future. All videogames are now online-only or streaming-only. Videogames get shut down about one or two weeks after or before you've bought them. Sometimes the publisher's operatives break into your house to beat up your Playstation 17 with a club, and they usually kick you in the face for good measure. We are all very thankful for the generosity of our glorious EAbisoftivision overlords.
Honestly, probably not that far off
We lost?. Then it means WAR!!
I’m from 200 years in the future; EAbisoftivision is no longer in the industry… but they’ve jumped up to politics which means they’ve, in a way, laid eggs. A portion of what was once the United States has become known as “CODLand”, the official jurisdiction of the corporate power. Thankfully basically every franchise people care about has become public domain by now, the fall of Disney 60 years back expediting falls into it. The will of the people triumphs!
@@austinreed7343 So what?, we still own nothing and we are happy?
@@lautarogomez9711
No. People are starting to fight back. War has been declared on CODLand by Tanzania, Liechtenstein, and the now-independent Newfoundland. People are surprisingly supportive of the war against CODland, but every war starts with good intentions… furthermore indie games are thriving, especially in light of the CODLand war.
Thank you
Thank you for your PSA!

It spooked me how the bell gong in the music happened the same moment the heartbeat stopped.
Why don’t we just figure out a way to make fan servers?
That's already happening, but at the same time there are unnecessary hurdles in the way making that difficult. One result of these efforts could be requiring companies to remove those hurdles at the end of service or release information to reasonably overcome them. Not to mention this won't cover all platforms.
Because this isn't about The Crew.
This is about ALL videogames, forever.
Oh my god what is this😂😂😂 what year am i in right now? I feel like i just woke up to the tv on in 2008 at 3am

ok asides from the message of this video, the design is very good! this series really helps send a message towards a real problem and make a good "analog horror" series at the same time
We need more people signing these petitions
those ads are amazing 👍
This is not the first game to have this happen, nor is Ubisoft the first to do it, but this was the first to get killed off in a time in which action can be taken, so we'll try to save this one to make up for the ones we can't.
Law firm is a banger to hear this. It may not an analogy horror, this is a banger of nostalgic.💯🔥
Ok, make it a REAL ad. Run it on RUclips and television
Did that disk get fucking shotgunned. Holy shit they're not fucking around
legends says one of discs get AR15'ed, he eventually form a militiant group dedicated to spread terror against AAA gaming companies & anime English dubbing companies
I am so happy more of these are releasing, means I can send them to my friends so they’ll know about this :)
Small detail I really liked: the usage of NFSMW in one of the early videos. Thinking of making something similar using Driver: San Francisco (another delisted Ubisoft title) sooner or later.
Also; my two cents on this whole debacle, in my eyes, if buying a game isn’t owning it, then piracy isn’t stealing it. It’s like if a record label recalled all sales of a CD and destroyed them because the band who made it switched labels/doesn’t exist anymore.
0:12 "This is an incorrect assumption." *disc go allahu akbar* "You are not safe."
If this was a real ad, I would be put on edge already...
Come on then, algorithm behold my tribute!
I think we should make a “Stop Killing Cameras” project too for movies and TV, in case they screw up that industry too
Petition to make this an actual advertisement. It would be mad effective.
I just found 6 copies of the crew at a thrift store and I immediately thought of these law firm commercials loll
i’m signing, may not have the first crew but i have the second one. Dont want that game to be taken down
Love the old aesthetic lol
if shows about video game was still airing on tv this campaign could have a bigger reach and help make our voices known better and louder
In the future, when Denuvo's servers inevitably shut down and every game that uses it becomes unplayable, we need PSAs like this one.
I have an even stronger feeling now that Ubisoft is going to commit war crimes to erase the existence of The Crew.
