You DO need to keep the triangle reflectors as these indicate it is a trailer. The square built in reflectors are for when the lights are used on a vehicle.
fitted these to my trailer board today they don't work on the car. but an led trailer board I bought later today worked fine. Did you fit resistors in line and did you test on the vehicle to see if it works?
The spade connectors you removed at the beginning. Do they go over two connectors or just one? I have taken mine apart to replace and not sure how to get it back again.
not quite lifetime warranty! i contacted them about a spotlight that was letting in water and turning the reflector black and i was told to go back to the distributer..........bit hard when they are defunct.
Could I put powerful led lights in place of the factory light bulbs? ( Back up lights only) Just to have a little better illumination. Also, some people tell me that you can't mix led with regular bulbs and that they must all be led in the system.
Here is a link to led bulbs , you mean these? www.truckelectrics.com/products/24v-premium-led-single-contact-tail-light-bulbs-replaces-149-248-pack-of-2
TruckElectrics.Com You guys run 24V ? Here (N.S) vehicles use 12 VDC .Thanks for responding though. P.S. I don't know why ford doesn't use brighter reverse bulbs.
' better add 3 lights on the trailer taillights.... 1- red ;light is a STOP 1- amber light is a turning left or right or energemcy flasher 1- white is a back up as reverse
Illegal removing the triangle reflectors and why did he not fit lights over the old light holes. Only wired the easy side as you after sort out the wiring as these lights are colour coded for one side only.
Hi John, We drilled new holes because the old holes wouldn't fit, also we wanted to make the video as clear and simple for our viewers..not confusing them with existing holes etc. Only wired the easy side.. dont know what youre getting at there.. And finally, Yes we should have left the warning triangles on, Our mistake, Point taken!
TruckElectrics.Com He said easy side because the colours shown for that light you fitted match the existing loom colours in that side. The other side uses a green wire for the indicator and a black wire for the side light. Standard 7 core trailer wire has different coloured wire for each indicator and each side light. Common wires, red for brake, blue for fog and white for earth, all the others are unique, a point you don't mention in your video or comments.
Rewired my whole trailer with a new kit. Plug in. Doesn't work. Edit: welp. It does work but only when the ground is connected back to the wire and somehow the signals are on the wrong sides. GJ me.
A very concise and informative video chap! Well done.

I use red triangle at the rear and the square orange reflectors on the sides of the trailer
Which country mate? never seen them in Australia
is that connection water proof? thinking of boat trailer that will get submersed in water when launching. thanks
not very good u don’t show what wires join to where
LED lights dont have a green wire for the right turn signal....what do you do??

Do you need to have a ground wire for caravan for led lights? Or can you just connect it to the caravan as a ground per non led lights?

What about the Number plate lights ? I don't see them
Im from India how can I buy this 1

You can use conventional bulbs with LED. The LED will just draw less. A lot of us here in the states switch just about everything to LED

A good instructional video. Why spoil it with the idiotic muzac in the background? AB
when you're a newbie they like you too play the video 10 times so you can try and distinguish what they are saying.
Excellent instructions.
The music is too busy and too loud.
Just saying.
Instead of the lighter, why not use the side of the soldering iron..
Pity we did not see How To Wire Up Led Trailer Lights
Yeah, I have virtually the same lights off eBay but no plug, all wires are separate, which brings me here!
Law states a trailer must have triangular reflectors
In which country? I'm curious because In Australia you don't.
@@cili7 Ireland and uk

it would have been more helpful had you shown the (2) taillights connections to the trailer or rv connector: but thank you anyway,PATRICK.P
Thanks that's observed good information idea video channel I love this post to learn more
I'm changing my trailer lights over to LED as soon as possible, my electrical's probably won't know the trailer is even there if I do
Need to explain what color wire goes where when wires are different colors. Poor video
Playing stupid music over the commentary should be illegal too
Forgot these led lights have no licence plate illumination again illegal.
Hi John, You can add LED Number plate lights separately, These lamps are not illegal.. www.truckelectrics.com/collections/number-plate-lights
