As Someone who remembers the premiere of Boomerang and watched almost all forms of Hannah barbera. I actually like this show. I’m kinda torn about a lot of the characters being gender swapped and given odd personalities, but some of them I really enjoy like choo choo, Auggie, Magilla, shag and loopy de loop. But others I dislike. Squiddly Diddly, Jabberjaw, baba booey, and also how they completely changed the funky Phantoms voice.
Yeah most people are 50/50 on Jabberjaw's genderswap. I think in my opinion that was a drastic change. Like I never saw Augie the star of the show it was mainly Doogie Daddie for me so I dont really mind the genderswap. Same with Baba Looey. But JabberJaw despite the show being a Scooby Doo imitation was really iconic imo. I actually really liked his curly impression. Although I do love this JabberJaw's personality here in Jellystone but would have been better to be on a different character not Jabberjaw.

But I find myself thinking “I don’t dislike any of these characters, but I’m torn with the sudden changes” some things you want to stay as they were and reminiscent of the old days. But change isn’t always a bad thing I say. It’s just different.
The milk bottles that expired in 2006 reminds me of that Simpsons movie gag where Apu changes the date from 2006 to 2008 (date the movie came out) with a marker.
I think they should add in Hong Kong Phoey, Birdman, Blue Falcon, Dynomutt, the cast of Wacky Races, Secret Squirrel, Morocco Mole, Ding-A-Ling, Ricochet Rabbit, Droop-a-Long, Dum-Dum, Snooper and Blabber, Dick Dastardly and Muttley into season 2. They should do episodes focusing on So-So, Atom Ant, Dune Buggy and The Neptunes.
Don't know if this counts, but in one of the dubs of the original show (might have been the Latin American one), they would have the gang make cat noises sometimes

We even had an exclusive Halifax advert featuring the gang and Dibble that you can find online (Halifax is a British bank chain if you were wondering)

Yeah, Jabberjaw was originally nothing more than a Curly impression. Since there was absolutely nothing else going on with that character, there was no reason not to change it.

Bah its honestly works with a lot of the characters they went for to gender bend. With Jabberjaws id say they would've worked genderbent or not but this new interpretation has REALLY grown on me tbh. I'd double down on the opinion that Top Cats crew benefited the most outta the whole gender swap decision because you gotta give it a little credit to where it made his little cast of cats a bit more recognizable and more memorable than their originals (besides Top Cat, Benny, and Choo Choo...because even if you never really cared for the original like me you can still sorta remember those three's appearance yknow?)
I'm gonna tell you this rn. This show proves ya wrong. A majority of HB characters were one note and they were notable for either having a unique voice (which tbh was reused on a lot of them), being a certain animal, and for having a piece of clothing or hairstyle. These characters are better for being gender bent and having characteristics that I can't get enough of. Sure, Gender bending on an already complex and multilayered character can be irking, but this shows does it in strides. Besides, I really doubt any of us gave a crap about Hanna Barbara content or characters (besides Scooby Doo) for a long time to all of a sudden care about their genders.
I think making a bunch of new female characters instead would just upset people too. (Like when they made female Ninja Turtle, or whenever they make a female superhero who is just a copy of the Male one.) So it's kinda lose-lose. Admittedly, I kinda like some characters better female.
This show ruined my childhood. Hanna-Barbera would be so ashamed at WB and C.H. Greenblatt for what they did to their legacy. William and Joseph are rolling in their graves. #canceljellystone
