Like the way the walls burst forth in the style of Dark City. Also, a nice touch in the music of adding chanting when the chapel was added.
I really like to see old history like this, old architecture, and the great medieval feeling of it all. I think this is some of the greatest content on this platform, keep it up!
I agree, fabulous
Aaaargh I love this!!! Thank you!
Oh wow! I liked the way of how the towers emerged from the ground, later the walls deconstructed and rebuilt. I always wonder, how on earth did they had the perseverance to build it. Just imagine, that a farmer went out to give food to his herd of calves, later on the field turned into a wall or a fortification, which was deconstructed, rebuilt, deconstructed and so on. This literarly blows my mind. I remember that I even had the chance of visiting the tower in 2015. I was like 14 years old at that time. I was amazed by the architecture back then.
These are brilliant. more please!
There was no 3rd floor in the White Tower until around 1490. The roof line shown is therefore incorrect.
Thank you for the comment. I may re do part 1 at some point and include all useful feedback!
Can I see your multi-part reconstruction video? Would be interesting to compare.
@@reconstructor3068 plus I think the "pepperpots" on the corner towers were not added until Henry viii's time
The construction techniques of the time are astounding! Very educational. Thank you!
You made a realy very good interesting video. Thank you for uploading.
Great video! Thanks!
This is awesome! Thank you!
Woow!! I really like this video 😉👍. That seems to be very interesting thing to be watching every time..
So flippin cool.
Wonderful
We can only dream as a nation of being able to build something like this today
Epic!
Great video
I myself have been to the Tower of London, twice. I loved it, one of the most magnificent castles I've ever seen. I was once caught filming and was told to stop and seeing as it was forbidden to film inside the keep, I never released that footage to the public, but then I was given a private individual tour of the keep, including Saint John's chapel.
Slowing down playback speed to .75 makes for more pleasant viewing and reading.
Awesome content! Not sure if you take requests but I’d love to see what Carolingian architecture looked like during Charlemagne or Alfred’s palace in Winchester. Inside and out.
Sounds like a great project! Thanks for the idea
This is fantastic! What is the dramatic music please?
ur missing the cage w the 7 ravens, it’s an old super natural thing that if there was ever less than 7 ravens the entire castle would collapse and they still have the ravens to this day.
Honestly, I'd love to know more about what we know of Roman London. Like, I recall the story of there being a big basilica of black marble where the tower of London is now.
And to think I grew up a 20-minute walk from the Tower and once went to a birthday party in the Tower
Why do I like the London of 1200 way more than than the London of 2024 😅 stunning 🤩
So You LIKE Highwaymen Lurking The Roads Outside The Walls And People Dumping Their Chamber Pots Out The Windows Inside The Walls?!!!
@@matthewrosa7262well you win some, you lose some
great videos
where d u make this 3d?
How long for part 2?
kool😎
How did the builders get the walls and tower to just sprout up out of the ground like that?
The same way they made the Roman walls disappear underground, except in reverse!
Anyone else recognise that first chord as the chord played in that Bloodbath level in geometry dash?
Without the Norman invasion, one should wonder how and when would the english folk adopt the construction of castles, and what style they would use (I'm mostly siding with the idea they would copy the architectural style from Denmark and Norway).
William died in 1086. So he would not have worshipped there nor stayed in the white tower. He was in Normandy in his last years
Does ANYONE Sense A "GAME OF THRONES" Opening Sequence Vibe Here?!
Historical and modern day fact:
The worst thing to ever have happened to England/Britain was the invasion by the Normans.
Before the invasion people owned their own land and could read.
After the invasion, land was confiscated and everyone became serfs/slaves and the masses were prohibited from reading. Everything became under the control of the French ("Norman") king and his "aristocracy" of Normans. This is pretty similar today.
The masses still haven't got their land back, and the aristocracy (now mixed with a few Germans and others) still control education and all the organs of power. The masses are now modern day serfs, extremely rarely breaking into the ranks of the Establishment.
Even the "upper class" accent (the classic marker of an apartheid system) is basically a French accent mixed with some German.
Dialects and accents of all the British regions ie former kingdoms or realms rarely if ever occupy influential positions.
Tragically this is rarely if ever written about and most people accept their slavery.
Oooh. Looks like Minecraft.
It does to be honest
Turn to half speed to maximize enjoyment and understanding.
Where's the rendering? They didn't call it the grey or tan tower.
Sometimes whitewashing history actually makes it more accurate. It would have in this case.
Thanks for your comment! I'm currently working on the second part of the video, and will make sure to adjust the speed to make it more enjoyable. Feedback is really important to me. As for the rendering, you are correct, however, Henry III ordered the tower whitewashed in 1240 - it will be highlighted in the beginning of the next part, stay tuned!
@@reconstructor3068 Thanks.
That dramatic music is horrible.
Agreed. Watched it on mute myself
It’s such a nauseating bore. It ruins so many potentially good videos.
boohoo, bitch. keep whining
The tower was built on top of "the white mount" a bronze age burial mound said to be the resting place of the founder of the city and the British nation. Brutus.
Слишком много экшена
God I hate this music. It ruins everything it touches.
0:13 you spelled civilization wrong
Hes british, thats how we spell it. Not everyone is american
An example of some of the minor spelling differences across other English speaking nations.
British spelling countries like the UK, Canada, Austrilia, NZ prefer "isation" over "ization", as it is spelled as "isation" in French.
