@@_jagger1407 Lol recently started this one back up kinda as a “new year’s resolution”. Expect to see all sorts of Tenkaichi antics from me. Hope to continue seeing the same w you!
This video amongst others is so informative and entertaining. I was the few that did the training and completed the practice mode as a kid but still learn many new things from your videos. I'm glad I stumbled upon you over a year ago!
I use to play this game all the time almost mastered all the combos till I lost it then I decided to use pcsx2 on my pc now I can play again but I'm still gonna have to learn them from the top
Dude thank you so much. I just bought this game so my brother and I can play it for the first time since we never got to play it as kids. Can’t wait to try some of this stuff!
I would like an explanation for the ability items (for example: ki, speed, defense, etc), it would be a great help for the story mode. Great video Jagger.
Pretty sure attack increases damage, defense makes you more resistant to guard breaks and reduces damage from blocked blasts. Speed is OP because it basically increases movement animations, charge ups and attack speed and a high speed stat will make you overwhelm the enemy ai. Health is obvious. I just build characters for pure speed and watch as the ai cant attack or defend themselves because my punches are always faster than theirs and if they do the fisticlash I just hit circle and left or right to do a ki vanish sidestep and continue hitting, works like a charm
@@pabloalexanderpintocastane9887 pretty sure ki increases how fast the ki bar can charge, idk if blast 1 affects that little gauge next to ki[the one for things like instant transmission and transformations] or if it affects blast damage for attacks like kamehameha.
Such a good video you have created. Nice job. Do you know what really bothers me. That people take it for granted that the soundtrack of t2 exist. Like how can people live life without thanking god that this ost was created?
The depth the Tenkaichi 2 gameplay reaches is really crazy for a fairly causal game. The tutorials only explains basic stuff and doesn't even mention the guard that blocks rushing specials
Tenkaichi as a game series is heavily misunderstood, and I blame it on exactly this, the game not telling you what is possible and the game not pushing you to develop these skills yourself, the latter being because the CPU is so shit
@@_jagger1407 knowing how LONG you can stretch combos with 99% of characters, yes, they are REALLY shit, but that's also because they were developed for a non-competitive community, i personally think either they didn't intend for such long combos or they left them for friends who learned by themselves to be competitive against each other
for example, would the CPU do something as simple as realign (which is literally just pushing the left analog to turn around), then players would have realized that rush teleports (teleporting while attacking) aren't a good flanking method, and it would have pushed them to try other and more advanced techniques to accomodate. If the CPU would use Combo Breakers, then even casuals would have realized that this is a thing and may have started to use them more. After all, this worked in BT3 with its Z-Counters, right? When you watch the way casual DOOM Eternal players actually understand the game mechanics, even if not quite proficient at using them, you start to recognize just how little Tenkaichi pushes the player to learn. Man, this sounds like good ramble material
@@_jagger1407 OH you KNOW it's rambling gold XD. I think that rush teleports were more eficient on BT2 and with the gameplay changes on 3 it became far worse. I have learned to play BT2 and 3 looks so similar but it's so INSANELY different it's almost wild
14:23 how tf? I've been watching this video a few times over and practicing BT2 a lot recently before getting back into BT3. I didn't even know that was possible compared to all the other stuff. Idk how to do it but when I wake up later I'll probably try to torture myself trying it
Havent watched the video yet but I find speed ups to be the most useful combat buff in this game. Even after not playing for a year I could confidently tell you I could start a fresh game enter a few tournaments for zeni and then buff the story characters with just speed ups and demolish raditz as piccolo and goku on the highest difficulty, enemy ai literally cant keep up with your attacks if you play extrememly offensively and if you really want to just cheap your way through you can literally hide on the battlefield against non scouter enemies just to charge spam ultimates. Only fights that are even remotely challenging with a speed build is big characters... oh and the hercule vs 18 fight where you have to win as him, give him ki ups and then spam his super combo where he throws the opponent, a couple of those knocks them out of the tourney stage easily
I'm sorry that I haven't discussed the Z-Item side of this game a whole lot, I was more concerned with showing people essential game mechanics that they might not have yet known. That being said, you're absolutely right, this game being heavily movement-based makes Speed Items some of the best by far
Unfortunately, the game shows one on everyone's stats. There are like 15 different damage modifiers across the whole roster. That is on the defense alone. IDK how many different base atk differences there are
Hi I'm new and I want to get back into this game and I'm willing to learn more than rush moves and square like I used to do back in the day when this game first came out. My favorite character is super 17 and I was wondering could you make a video about how to play Androids because I know they can't charge energy.
Tenkaichis characters all have the same base set of tools, if you know how to play one character very well, you know how to hold your own with any other character. Sure you won't be able to capitalize on the individual chars advantages, but it's not like FighterZ where it's hard to even get an offense going if you never picked the char before. This is why people don't make character guides on youtube. Although an Android special is an interesting idea. I may do some pvp breakdowns in the future, but for that I'd need to play more european players
JustTrash is a still active player, then there's ZeroAnnihilated who has made the Depth of Tenkaichi series, besides that, there's some now inactive players like Zoso9391, ShadowDBZ, go on my channel, to the "Channels section", there's a list called " BT2 OGs" with some youtubers who have very nice BT2 content
Ngl after playing Tenkaichi 3 for years and going back to Tenkaichi 2 to experience the story mode Tenkaichi 2 feels so clunky. Like the punch combos aren't as good as Tenkaichi 3's and some of the stuff that's in 3 is so difffent in 2 😅
1. Get to Max Power 2. Dragon Dash towards opponent (L2+X on PS2) 3. While in the Dash, charge a Heavy (Triangle on PS2) 4. After the Heavy, repeatedly press Attack (Square on PS2) 5. When Max Power is almost over, press Heavy again to smash the opponent away, then use your Blast 2 (L2+Triangle on PS2)

Thanks.
Actual game knowledge about BT2 is almost completely absent from youtube, people usually think learning the skill-list = learning the game
W guide been learning tech since last week
finally an audience that appreciates the move cancels

Cool and well articulated. I'm happy to be playing this game now and not right before this video released
Very helpful resource of a video to have!
