Carl, the issue with vacuuming through the exhaust duct is you have to move the machine to get enough clearance to work behind it. And even if you can, it will only vacuum lint in the duct up to the burner or heater elements, it won't deal with the lint caught at the front of the unit or inside the cabinet. The manufacture could have made it easier by including some easy to remove access panels.
Question - I have a GE dryer and I'm thinking now the reason its not drying is b/c i didn't vaccuum the tank right below the lint trap screen when i cleaned it a while back and so I need to take the front of my dryer off to access it. Only problem was I got every screw out - except one. On my model there are 2 screws that need to be removed and they are located by opening the dryer door and then are at the top. They were both rusty b/c they are the only screws on the inside of the dryer exposed to humidity. I got one of them out barely but the other one I tried everything and even put my impact driver on it but it would not turn. What can I do to get that sob off and what can I do when I go to put the front panel back on? I have stripped that screw really bad. Do you guys run into this same problem with those screws and what do you do if its already stripped?
That is a tough situation to be in, you can try a bit extraction bit, notching the screw for a better bite with a straight blade screwdriver or drilling it out. Also worth trying is just a search for how others have dealt with the issue. Best of luck.
Thank you for this. I still have the user manual from mine. I've also looked up Samsung tutorials. None of them get past the lint filter.
Betty, so true and big disservice. A a removable front panel would have made it easy for everyone.
Thanks for a great video. Keep up the good work
Thank you James for watching and taking the time to write.
Thank you!!!! Watched and cleaned our dryer with ease. ❤😂 saved some monies🎉
Congrats on tackling the project and making your home safer.
Is easier to remove the exhaust duct on a Samsung to vacuum the cabinet out than through the front. Usually only 2 or 3 screws.

I have a dog that sheds like crazy and I'm sure this is my problem.
This was very helpful. Unfortunately I broke two of the tabs. I hate that they use plastic tabs!
Helpfully you have enough good tabs not to cause a problem. Yes I hate them too.
