    Haven’t done any research on this so it’s only anecdotal, but I think a major reason why I prefer to work out with headphones (and RTJ) is that it keeps me from hearing my own strained breath, and thus I take less note of how exhausted I am, making it easier psychologically to keep going. Especially for running/spinning etc. Rhythm definitely also plays into it as you say. Great vid!

      Thanks! You are absolutely right, dissasociation/distraction from pain and exertion may be a big part that music plays in increasing performance. It's also been hypothesized heavily in research as well, although nothing can be said for certain as there are so many factors at play. However it does make sense.
