- In this Video, I am trying to diagnose the issue with the red ski. I rebuild both motors, new pumps, both fuel tanks removed and cleaned, new plugs, new reeds, new lines, compression good, spark is good, seniors are good, everything i could think of I have gone through. Help diagnose!!!
Had the same issue with my zxi1100. I checked everything in all of these comments. ( all good information) i ended up having faulty ignition coil packs. Good luck 👍
CARB ISSUE - MY ULTRA WOULD ONLY GO TO 3800 RPM AND STAY. NEW CARB AND IT RUNS AMAZING. YOU SHOULD TRY TO SWITCH CARB FROM WHITE SKI TO RED AND SEE IF YOU HAVE ANY CHANGE.
It just needs a new gas filter!! $24.

Thank you I appreciate that. I’m in Illinois, otherwise I would take you up on that offer. And finding people to work on these older 2 stroke skis is almost impossible. I did figure out the issue, it was my new fuel filter. I put a different fuel filter on and it workers
It definitely sounds like a fuel issue. When you wack it it has that instant fuel in that’s already in the carbs but soon dies because the carbs are running dry, as if there’s not enough supply.
Make sure the copy the entire fuel supply and return system as the white one. Make sure your water/cooling lines are hooked up exactly as the white one too.
I think your right about the fuel issues. I’m testing the system again today to make sure it is working correctly. I will definitely be referencing the white one. It might need a new fuel sending unit??
WheelsGuns&Shoes take the main fuel like off the carb and blow air where the fuel cap is to pressurize the tank. If you have plenty of fuel in the tank you should have a nice steady stream coming out. If it’ll do that your fuel lines and everything is good.
@@WheelsGunsShoes these are notorious for ethanol breaking down the sending unit. Had the same issue with my ski and that was it
Next time try pulling the choke out some to richen the mixture. Reading plugs will not do you any good because your not able to drive it and hold it at that rpm for a decent amount of time. When your reading the plugs your only reading the idle/low mixture since your not running it at high rpm for long periods of time in the water to effectively burn the idle mixture off the plugs.

Yes. Finally some luck. I put part two up on my channel, spoiler they both run great!!!!
