    I am beginning to like the," surfer dude" mentality more and more.I don't know if you can stand up in your van, but i have several idea's: Idea's so that you have the comforts of home in a tiny space. 1ST idea. Hide away shower, this is genius. A small pan with drain under floor that has a lift up panel you can step on. Inside stores the shower curtain and supplies for taking a shower. Above is a rod you put your curtain on and in the center is a shower head. Put the shower curtain on, turn the shower valve on and switch the power on. The small whale pump sucks the water out of the tank and into the shower. Over the lift up panel shower is a rectangular chair that you can move with a cushion on top, pull away the cushion and a toilet is reveiled. Toilet has an inside separate pull out plastic tank that can be drained and cleanned. Next to the chair is a Table on the side of the wall and it pulls up for use. This way it gives you space for other uses for the space. Next idea: You need a place to sleep, but you need the space for other things also. No Problem. A roll up hammock. An instant bed that connects to eye hooks in the space and you can have several. Still need more space, well what about this idea. You need appliances,storage space, a full closet, a table and a sink. NO Problem. I made a countertop AND under the countertop,"which is also a table", is a small refrigerator with freezer,washer dryer combo and a sink all next to one another, with the sink in the middle.Under the sink is a pull out drawer for silverware Above all that, you can hang your cloths on the left side and storage cabinets on the other side. You may ask, how do you cook your food? Simple. Two plug in Induction cooking units and two iron pans stored in the storage cabinets. What about electricity? It has an outside recepticle to plug into an outside source, if needed and inside is a fuse box connected to all the electrical needs. It has 8 roll on solar panels on the roof that is connected to an inverter. This charges the 4 marine battery's. The solar runs the two Led lights,"one inside,one outside",the small whale water pumps,"this runs the shower,sink and hose outside",the refrigerator,T.v,radio,charger phone,labtop computer,fan, charger for electric battery operated Tools and other things. OBVIOUSLY, you cannot run all devices at once. You may ask, how do you heat small amounts of water to make tea? Simple: Use the induction plate, fill a glass with water and drop in the glass a round flat peice of stainless steel metal. The water gets hot, then pull out the iron with tongs. You can use this technique to heat soups and other things without using the pan. I am still workin on tryin to get enough power to run the washer dryer combo unit. I have to be careful on how many electrical devices to use at once. For now, i have to use the outside plug that lets outside sources of electricity into the unit to run the washer dryer combo. So far, using the solar, but it is for backup power only, but i use it alot to run things i need. Other power sources: You can plug in outside sources of power like a generator or a cord that goes to alternative source of electricity. HEAT and AIR CONDITIONERS: This requires large amounts of current voltage. Still workin on the old camper with new upgrades. Still thinking on how to efficiently use the amount of space i have without being cramped into a small space. I have a small electric heater i can use even tho it takes alot of power. It is not plugged in all the time and in the summer it never gets used. The air conditioner is a power sucker and i do not keep it on long. Hot cloudy days are a pain and cold cloudy days can be miserable sometimes depending on how much i use the Electric heater. The only negative thing about this is, you get use to using one thing at a time to get things done. RUclips gave me idea's to use other sources of power other than solar. I figure with their idea's and mine, i can figure this out. Your vans setup is pretty cool.

    Hopefully this is what my T4 van is going to become, it's quite a project I'm planning to do, firstly to get it back on the road then a golf TDI conversion, then on the making it a campervan. I do plan to do some videos on it as soon as its home as its having its brakes done at the moment. Anyway nice van it's amazing what can be fitted in a relatively small van, good job.

    RAIN CATCH-- TENT :
    Have U ever thought about putting an awening / ON --ing, on it ? To make a simple cheap one all you have to do is buy a plastic tarp and sew on velcro strips on 3 sides, on the 4th side sew a loop at that end so a wood pole/ shaft can fit into. Put wood pole in loop. Get a bracket at your local hardware store that will hold up the pole to the van. OR take a thin piece of steel square cut a hole in it for the shaft to fit in and bend it at one end then drill holes so you can mount. Mount pole to van, Next sew on velcro to a bug net on one side. A long peice of bug net that will wrap around the outer edge of the plastic tarp and long enough to touch the ground. At two ends of the tarp sew on two loops, these will go on the two iron poles. Get 2 iron poles and pound into ground. Attach loops to poles. So basically you have an enclosed area that has a tarp for a top and a bug net sides. Just velcro the bug net to the tarp and work your way around. That way you have a larger space /area without the hassle of the bugs. When done, all you have to do is roll the plastic tarp on the pole with the bug net and two iron poles , then sinch /tie in 3 places with string. It hangs there by the bracket when you drive around. Make two of these so you have this on both sides of your van. The tarp can also be used to collect rain water. Pull out the tarp, sag the center so water pools here. Put a container below to catch water.
    TO MAKE AN OUTSIDE SHOWER, CHEAP:
    Get a 6 inch diameter pvc pipe and glue, two end caps,a threaded iron tube the diameter of a hose you are going to put on it, plummers tape, a 3 inch threaded iron tube, an air valve for a bicycle pump, a 3 inch cap and a hose with fittings on both ends. Drill holes where needed and to the right sizes. Assemble this, Put the hose on, put water in the 3 inch hole, put the cap on and pump air into the tube. Attach tube to the top side of the van. Paint it black. INSTA-SHOWER.
    HIDDEN TABLES AND STORAGE:
    On the floor cut out a 2 feet by 3 and a half feet square wood panel. Drill a hole in the panel at one end so you can put your finger in it to pull up the board. Use this for a table top. Make 4 legs with iron brackets on one end of each leg, so you can attach it to the board. Under the board that you, "stand on", is a storage compartment. In the storage compartment you could put things like maybe a plastic tablecloth,paper plates,forks,spoons,deck of cards, a chess board or anything else. Maybe can goods.
    SOLAR GRILL:
    Get a FREZNAL LENZ and an iron plate. Point and concentrate a focal point on the iron plate. It heats up so hot you can cook steaks,burgers,eggs and boil water to make it good for drinking.

    Wonderful interior! And the outside also. Very organized, functional and spacious. I like on how spacious it is! Your living area to move around! Is your bed, your sleeping area behind the rear seat? Is that what you stated? If you did, is it wide enough to stretch out? I might have misunderstood. Thanx for sharing!

    i was thinking about converting a mercedes sprinter refrigerated box van myself, as they are pre-insulated, body on frame and a 7.5 tonner is available at about £5k ish secondhand, to get the v5 changed to "motor caravan" i will temporarily bodge in the interior of one of those horrible beige £150 caravans you can get so i can legally remove the speed limiter and tachograph. decent weight allowance, preinsulated box body, so no faffing about with insulation or curves at all, a square insulated box as a foundation. body on frame means there is space under the body for lockers to contain stuff like batteries, generator, water, gas etc, giving me more flexibility with the habitation space as i won't have tanks and stuff taking up space. just an idea of mine :)

    • @tech4pros1
      @tech4pros1 8 лет назад

      entirely a hypothesis at this point, but an idea worth exploring nonetheless :)
