Great videos. I do a bi yearly install of gp4 and a few mods since I bought the game new on disc when it came out!. Played alot of other f1 games since but it has its own mojo and is always enjoyable . I Tried ds4 last year but wasn't happy , gonna try these settings thanks 👍
How have you gotten on? The buttons on my ds4 recently started sticking so I picked up a new xbox controller and while setup is exactly the same, I immediately found it didn't play as well with the filters, so I'm using raw inputs now, which is extremely difficult (especially as a PC gamer), but it's still pretty fun. I always come back to GP4 when I want something that feels authentic without a huge investment.

hey man, for some reason i can select the joypad option, but i can't edit EVERY setup that i choose, only on keyboard a custom keybinding is allowed, i'm using a logitech F710 controller, with both xinput/directinput native support. Now the binding it's not that much of a problem, but the fact that i can't turn off auto steering while on keyboard drives me crazy
Good video, followed this for my Xbox series controller, all calibrates fine etc but soon as I start a race I get initial acceleration, brake into the corner then it just won't accelerate, eventually stutters back to life but then I have no brakes :/
I found it worked the same for my xbox controller but I did turn on control driven calibration which seemed to make calibration a lot easier. I have had problem with my xbox controller doing what you describe very occasionally when it's connected by bluetooth, but on other games, not experienced that on gp4. Try it wired if not already to see if it's still a problem.
I've never seen this problem myself on Grand Prix 4, but I think I may have seen it on GP3. I tried setting up on the joypad control scheme but that won't allow you change the bindings in game so that's fairly useless. The only thing that may work is for you to choose the default joypad option and then in the "Advanced" screen, select "choose control method". In here you might be able select one of the "not used" slots (also I recommend ticking the "control driven calibration" - it makes calibration easier) which will allow you change bindings. If that doesn't work I recommend plugging in another controller, so see if the options become available (make sure they are showing in windows Game Controllers screen) and if that doesn't work, try a vanilla install of GP4 to see if they are available without GPxPatch and other things.
I don't use a PS4 controller anymore but make sure you have the DS for windows application to convert the PS4 controller to a windows recognizable device. Other than that, just try with other games, try in different ports etc.. There is no obvious reason why GP4 wouldn't see it if other games do.
I've never had trouble on any of my Logitech wheel/pedals but I have heard people mention that it has trouble with pedals when they aren't registered as the same device as the steering wheel. I've googled but can't find anything obvious that might help sorry.
