Thanks for the restoration. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. I wish I had the patience to do this. I have a Waterman that was not used or cleaned in over 70 years. I took it to a store that is known for their expertise and it came out wonderful. But there are times that I should be able to do the repair myself.
Thank you! It was a learning experience but I enjoyed it. Probably the largest step I skipped was polishing the body and cap. But this pen is in pretty good shape, and I kind of enjoy seeing small signs of use.
this pen should use a #18 sac, but i believe you measured the sac size without first removing the old sac bits still attached to the nipple, thus increasing the size you needed...
@@ForTheLoveOfPens I use a dull X-acto knife blade to scrape all the old sac off the nipple and after it’s removed I use 800 grit sandpaper and give it a couple good twists
Thank you for this restoration walk through. You're a great asset to our fountain pen community
Thank you!
Nice video! It was interesting to watch the restoration process. It took a lot of patience and attention to detail.
Thank you! It was a learning process and definitely takes patience
Wow! What a pen with a little elbow grease and you have a great pen. It came with extra's with the Flex nib. Congratulations.
Thank you! It was a learning experience, but I’m really happy with how this pen turned out!
@@ForTheLoveOfPens yes! Looked like a simple fix and there was nothing majorily wrong with it.
Especially the nib.
@@tbayless8324 I agree! Getting the section off was probably the hardest part

I have so many pens that require repairs mostly vintage. I wish you could show more repair videos so I can jump and try myself. Thank you so much!🎉
Thank you!
I really learned a lot! Thanks for featuring a lever-fill… great job!
Thank you so much!
Great video, congrats on your purchase and restoration job.
Thank you!
Excellent video. Thanks.
Thank you!
For cleaning the nib I use toothpaste and a cotton bud and it comes out very clean.
@@darkoz1692 thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the information! I thought that I cleaned the section pretty thoroughly, is there a tool/technique that you recommend?
