Whoah, it’s you! Thank you so much for nearly singlehandedly giving me and other builders the means to exponentially grow their collections with the canon models!
@@DuckBricks The type of review you make here is the main reason I made those instructions in the first place, for people having theirs. It's a great pleasure to see them go worldwide. Please note I'm currently working at remaking some of my old instructions, as time passed me and a few talented friends found out some mistakes. By the way working on the Melding Teridax was my hardest reverse-building experience with Lurker and indeed, TomDracone could have made this building a bit stronger by replacin a few connectors. It didn't took long before I made a swap color of this, but tougher.
Thanks for the kind words and the entire community appreciates the work you do! I’m seriously impressed with Melding Teridax; I could never have reverse-engineered that myself! Looking forward to seeing your updates!
Thanks for checking it out! Is there a particular design you’d like reviewed next? I’ve got like 15 Dark Hunters built, Helryx, Tahtorak, Certavus, and more
I’ve always wanted Melding Teri, perhaps more than actual Teri himself, Was he worth it? It seems like you can’t really pose him without parts falling off, but he still makes for an awesome display figure.
So if you wanted to play with/put him in dynamic poses without the hammer, arm hoses, and that one Metru shoulder armor piece on his back, he’s a perfectly serviceable model ignoring the wonky upper arms. If you do keep the model “as is,” you do really only have two options for posing, sadly
A part of me wants to use this as a model for Teridax Prime himself. Almost all the parts exist in gunmetal, grey, or black, Vahki6 has made it, and it wouldn't be too hard to tighten him up. It looks so good.
Really great review I hope you review Ancient next. Also since Melding Terry is in the form built by the Great Beings I see that main universe Terry uses this build until he was able to transform into his Ultimate Dume or 2003 forms.
That’s a really cool head canon and I could buy that, especially as he had a whole process to drain his light, I could see this being his original form. And I think it’s decided - Ancient is up next based on popular demand!
Thanks for checking it out! And I agree, it’s easily the best-looking Makuta build. Keep up the great work with reverse-engineering canon builds - these kind of reviews wouldn’t be possible without people like you in the community!
@@DuckBricks thank you, I appreciate it either way. www.deviantart.com/legodetective I’ve posted a few things on my deviant art but I’m sure you’ve seen my reddit. I do plan to do youtube recaps on many dark hunters once I finish them.
The money probably would have benefited from hands closer to those of the original Teridax figure, with gold Avohkii claw hands and an axle connection for the hammer to attach to.
Does this set canon? And which reference says that? Besides, does the alternate melding universe where mata nui never built is canon? If it is, who wrote it, Greg Farshtey?
Yup, it’s from a story serial written by Greg Farshtey that featured this universe, and the model is canon based on that serial. You can read all about it on biosector01!
@@oblivion715 I read there is a universe where Vezon witness an alternate universe where Makuta and Mata Nui's roles were switched. Makuta being the Great Spirit Robot and Mata Nui plotting a rebellion against him.
i really love this model, i own one myself tho im still missing 3 parts in white that i have in light gray. its a very nice model and i intend to fully finish it someday, also for the back 15l tubes over 12 l tubes worked well for me
@@DuckBricks ye, his stability can be an issue, but his underside has 2 pin holes so its really easy to put a central stand there for display purposes. I even made regular teridax in the same build with gunmetal, blood red, and purple with custom staff and feet cuz i liked it so much.
I'll be forever pissed at my younger self: I submitted an entry to the Melding Teridax contest, but my pictures were absolutely horrible. Not saying it's better then the winner, but I sure loste quite a lot of votes due to that
Hey DuckBricks can you do 3D print all of these parts of Makuta Teridax Melding version parts all of these colors and have these new items come in your duckbricks store for my request please?
Once again a very good and informative video. Now you should make a normal Terry with the exact same build, swapping the white for gumetal and the gold accents with red. Maybe do a bit of purple since the color represents shadow rather well and is a nice contrast to the yellow commonly associated with light.
Oooo that’s a great idea; it would definitely even be a lot easier/cheaper to do it in black as you avoid all the white Technic pins which are prohibitively expensive
@@DuckBricks Indeed. I remember seeing a guy I know rather well from discord do it. It looks really nice in the end and I definitely would have to do it myself eventually
I don't like how arms are attached to the shoulders, that means he can only move them side to side, Sidorak had similar arm connection, but he could rotate them with a separate shoulder mechanism. The shaping is really good looking and curvy, but the stiffness really shows.
Agreed, the arms are mounted super low and it’s extended by the way they connect to the bottom of the Metru foot, Aesthetically it looks great, but poseability isn’t really there
@@DuckBricks Dunno if you seen it, this guy made some improvements to the model's construction and it doesn't require too many parts, but makes him much more stable: ruclips.net/video/6mkEY5_qI5c/видео.html
@@thegoodguychronicles9886 I’m so excited to build Lurker; I’ve got most of the pieces sans a few and I’m waiting on a few BL orders to have him complete. Ancient should be up next though!

Honestly the model should have used the mask's alternate position to further show the difference in how they use its power.
