Sometimes it's better to break up via text I've done it because I knew there was going to be a long argument had I done it face to face because it was in his character. He came to my house afterward and busted my windows out luckily my neighbors had my back, that could have been my head 😒 JS & he had never been violent towards me before this

I'm with Keri...IF we have had previous conversations/or arguments leading up to us parting ways, then there's nothing else that needs to be discussed. I've texted a guy after just a 2nd date to let him know that the connection just isn't fully there and he flipped tf out as if we'd been dating for years..lol. Now imagine if I had told him via phone?? It would have been a 1hr argument back and forth.

When two healthy minded adults ate in a relationship, break up via text, it’s just disrespectful. A definite exception would be If there is crazy/violence on one side or the other, then a text is safe way to go. Some people are just cowards and just want easy way out. You get what you give. When you treat people badly, at some point it will come back on you.
I can understand that if you both know it has been going down that road, you would have that final conversation via text. However it is more socially acceptable to do it face to face. I personally don't need closure. That's something you build on by yourself.

I agree with the black lady, be a man and communicate, it's all about the character of a person. Breaking up via text is a coward way out be it male or female, which really says you avoid conversations that needs to be discussed, you rather hide, not good at all. If you plan on being in any type of relationship conflict, disagreements, etc will arise and if you run or avoid well you're not ready for a relationship. Grown mature adults should be able to communicate.
L Daniels whether you like it or not that is in fact communication just a new version of communicating (like first it was face to face then phone calls and now texting) ... a break up is a break up however it is done. I give the person credit for at least trying to resolve issues but if they are getting the same results then yes it is time to break up... now, it's a whole other subject if the two people in the relationship was based solely via text and I mean not once have they met physically and sexually... just mentally and emotionally and they're a few blocks away now that's disturbing and a whole other subject but yes just as it was okay to break up face to face... like you just sit them down and say whatever you need to say and it's over either way you look at it.. it is over nonetheless and it's the exact same concept via phone call or text... a break up is a break up... hard to take in but harsh truth plus it hurts the party getting broken up with whether it's face to face, phone call, or via text... just a harsh reality... at least an upside you get the chance to grieve (hopefully and my reccomendation) heal, and move on to someone once you've decided what is and isn't acceptable in your next relationship and to have a healthy thriving relationship and live happily ever after or you can live your happily ever after single whichever you choose it's your choice to move on just like it's there choice to break up whether you agree with it or not it's still their choice... I'm just gonna assume maybe they weren't happy which warrants anyone to breakup with someone they probably once cared deeply about... I'm sure otherwise it is pretty pathetic to be with someone you didn't care about during the course of that relationship and on that note be very glad they broke up with you.. they didn't choose you anyway and it's better to have known that then to think that they wanted you genuinely wanted you. I wanted to add that most people aren't upset about the actual way the break up was done but the rejection that comes with a break up and once people realize that it's just simple rejection the better off and the faster they can grieve, heal, and move on.

Being able to become happy for yourself is the prize. It means secure self-esteem with yourself and being able continue your life productively to accomplish your goals, while achieving satisfaction from your consistent efforts.

I agree with Keri. I caught my person cheating. I called him the next day to arrange a closure discussion, and he didn't return my call. So, I texted him the following day and laid out my case and I left it at that.

I ended a 5 month relationship via texting today actually. We were in different states and I mentioned my issues with him many times which included communication and him showing social media love more than getting back to me in a timely manner, very often. It was dying out anyways on his end. So, I ended it with an explanation that I knew he would understand. It was on him. I could’ve simply ghosted him but I paid respect to him even when I couldn’t even get him to call or FT me after my friend was murdered recently, until almost two weeks later I got a short call and I felt nothing at that point. The difference was you tried and then did what you had to via text. I think that some people have issue with a text if that's the initial route you take, but that was not in your case.

I prefer to be broken up via text. I can't face the hurt in person that was my take years ago, younger in my teens . Sometimes the relationship is long distance that you have to do it via text anyway, happens to me.
But my second ( current bf) of 4 years plus 7 years friendships, now as I'm older, if we broke up ( never gonna happen lol) I would want a conversation in person or I'd at least owe it to him seeing we have so much history.
