It's totally cool. Some folks will eventually turn these old cars into electric vehicles in the future. While we're still celebrating the combustion engine, I think resto-modding a vehicle of this pedigree is totally fine. Some day she will waft again silently, for now she is getting up to speed 😁

Hi Jodie, The Americans stick those LS engines in all sorts of things now it’s an extremely versatile and well used tried and tested engine ( I believe) ! But makes that beautiful old RR very usable in the modern world . I suspect the fuel consumption is still on par with the original drive train but who cares if it sounds like that 😜 nice build I love it .👍

My dad and I were the original importers of this very car from the UK to the US in the early 1980's. I still have the original owner manual with the chassis number in it. The cosmetic CEO story is not entirely correct. The man was actually the President of a fruit and vegetable company in the UK and it was his personal car. The fruit company sent the car back to Rolls Royce and had them restore the car in the 1970's. After the restoration the company surprised him with the car. I have the check (somewhere) from the fruit company to RR for the restoration. It's great to see the car live on.

Bicycling thru Ft Myers Florida I had to wait for one to pass by. They had a chauffeur. With a cap! And a little old white haired lady passenger who must have been 90. I just stared.
She looked at me staring, then faced forward quickly.
Then a smile came over her face.

If I didn't know better; I could almost imagine that that very nice Miss Kidd was rather enjoying herself in that Rolls Royce.
Of course, I realise such a thing to out of the question. Miss Kidd is a quiet, shy, dedicated motoring journalist. A very serious occupation, as we all know.
Right; I've had my head banged...what an outrageous car! I could definitely live with that. I'm not in the least surprised that Jodie had that "little bit in love" look on her face. A proper "Q" car if ever there was one! (Older readers will understand)
Coincidentally; I'm in the process of re-working my 2006 Lexus GS300 in similar vein. Not that mine could possibly compete in sheer outrageousness; but it still gives Ferraris and Porsches a hell of a shock! And it still looks like a gentleman's horseless carriage.
    That Rolls though..bloody EPIC!!

This is why working class people in the UK were riding public transport or a 600CC fiat and not a 5 liter camaro.

Loved the video Jodie. Anorak moment: the badge on the right front is the "Herald Touring Club Victoria". This sparked an old memory for me. The Herald was Melbourne's evening newspaper and it used to have touring maps in the paper for motoring in and around Melbourne, which enthusiasts could follow. I assume keen readers could get the badge from the paper and mount them on their car to demonstrate brand loyalty. These badges must be as rare as rocking horse manure for those that collect these items. The Herald was owned by Sir Keith Murdoch, sold after his death, then Rupert bought it back and merged with the morning paper "The Sun" to create today's "Herald Sun".
Out of curiosity, I get the RAC badge on the left, but the middle badge eludes me, any help from badge anoraks???

Great video Jodie, unsure whether you were told but the car's original owner commissioned the car to be built as a wind up as his brother is the Australian president of the Rolls Royce owners club which no doubt had the desired effect of upsetting a few purists his brother included.
