Since performing much more content writing, I am needing to brush up on a few things. This is like a one-stop-shop for everything excellent. Thank you much for your hard work and for making this information available and EASY to understand.
Thanks for the nice words. I've been doing a lot of writing on my web site lately. The more you do it, the more creative you get about putting your ideas on paper. Good luck with your writing! :D
This is crazy. Transition video helps me see that sentences have ideas, that transition words allow next idea to follow previous idea, but doesn't disconnect from the previous ideas. If each sentence expresses an idea, and there exists a logical flow of one idea to the next, transitions is what must permit us to go from idea A to idea A1. It's crazy.
Glad it was helpful! We use transition words intuitively, but it's good to become aware of them, especially when we read or write, so we can really make sense of the message. Thanks for watching!

I have a question base on this topic. I am going to give an IELTS test very soon but I don't have much knowledge about linking words and its usages. in addition to this, I have to write complex and compound sentences in IELTS test as much I could. however, it really makes me confused when I see some use of some linking words after a full stop(.). therefore, if we put full stop then, sentence won't be complex or compound. unless I understand its full usage, I am not able to gain confidence to give the test. I hope you would get my point.
Hi, Tashi. I googled "IELTS transition words" and then "IELTS linking words." From what I can see, they are looking for the use of transitions regardless where they appear in the sentence. When you use coordinating conjunctions (e.g., for, and, nor, but, or, so), you combine two short sentences into a longer, more complex one. Nonetheless, there are other types of linking words such as "nonetheless," which I used to start this sentence. Other transitions, connect ideas in different positions in the paragraph, for example, when I start a new paragraph with "in conclusion." For the IELTS, I believe that they want you to make sure you connect your thoughts in any way that makes sense. As long as you avoid writing a bunch of short sentences where you could combine them or show the relationship between the ideas in the sentences, you should be okay. I hope this helps... :D
