I do agree with you guys that connecting Lungi with Freetown by Bridge will bust economic growth for Sierra Leone as a hole, movement of good and services will be easier.

Thanks for sharing our beautiful international airport. Yes, I agree, the bridge will be a huge improvement. Additionally, hotels are needed. Thanks again!

I do agree with your suggestions, very good ones too. However, this is a new and more modernized one but we've had an international airport for ages you know.

Please get your facts right. Sierra Leone international airport has always been in Lungai. The new airport is very controversial. The old airport was very functional considering that we do not have a lot of flights coming to S L. This new airport is a waste of money that the country cannot afford. The government anticipated that a new airport would increase flights but increase in the taxes has had the opposite effect because airlines have stopped flying to S L and most passengers now use the neighbouring country because it is cheaper. The ferry is not the only way to get to the airport from Freetown, it is just the quickest. You can get to the airport by road. In regard to the bridge construction from Freetown to Lungai, they have been talking about this for twenty years. The cost outweighs the benefits.

The thing is if you have an airport in Lungai ,you have to link lungai to Freetown and make it convenient,I don’t think a bridge is a waste of money ,arguably if they used that money to build that bridge and left the airport the way it was before ,it would have most likely boost Lundai ,most people that go to Serrie leone go to Freetown and to go to Freetown you need to go to Lundai and if you make it easier for people to go from Lundai to Freetown and viceversa it will boost Lundai economy

Building a bridge will facilitate the movement to and from the airport. Another consideration is the length of the bridge which will be determined by the width of the river. Thirdly, if airlines are not patronizing the airport, the state/country of Sierra Leone could float an airline if it has the fund. The country could also go into partnership with other airlines from West Africa on a percentage revenue derivation base. Are there affluent citizens of Sierra Leone that can afford flying, and patronize the airport?
The Government should understand that airport construction is a long-term investment, and the government should not expect to recover its construction funds in one year.
I advise that the government of the country, under the Ministry of Transportation should embark in the promotion of the airport. Taxes should be reduced so as to attract riders.

I don't agree with you sir to say the only flight you saw for 4 to 5 days is DHL lol Freetown International Airport gets busy in days like Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The ferry is not the only access as opposed to what you said. There is a land road leading to the airport from Freetown

The last time I was in Sierra Leone, 2022, sea coach was charging around $25 to cross from Lungi... A think a scenetic bridge would do wonders but it would be extremely costly because of the distance. But the new airport terminal looks amazin

Thanks so much sir, you are so much on point, the government needs to build a bridge across the river, and taxes reduced drastically, so which airport does those Nigerian airlines land into in Salone, Oh my Freetown, New England the land of my birth, ❤ My love from Nigeria 🇳🇬

Main Reason is the absence of a bridge to connect the Longi and main land Free Town, the Government have to build the bridge to connect Free Town and LUNGI. This is one of the most important infrastructure project that Sierra Leone needs today. If you build the bridge, thee is no need for everyone to congest themselves in one city (Free Town) because the bridge would open the provinces and closer to Free Town especially Port Loko District and accessing the air port would be so easy, people would even prefer building homes in Lungi then Living in Free Town. Investors would even invest in Lungi like building hotels. The location of Free Town just makes it difficult to beautify because the land is just too rocked and monotonous as compare to Longo which has a very flat land

You can make a point without mentioning Nigeria because there are lots of airports that are not viable in Nigeria. In fact, FAAN says that 90% of its air traffic comes from 3 out of 22 airports in the country. Nigeria's wealth is concentrated around a few cities.

The SLPP Government and their president do not listen to the people of Sierra. That airport should have been built at MAMah.Government is continuity. But they think they know it all ,of which not.The president is fighting against the people that he is supposed to govern, can you imagine?just because of the opposition party. He hate to be criticize and he forget that the monies that he use to build that airport comes from taxpayers. The airport looks like a grave yard. Most Sierra Leoneans will prefer to go to Guinea 🇬🇳 and fly from there ,which is a loss to our county. His government is failing because he is Tribalistic, corrupt, Nepotism, Regionalism, lack Common sense and no respect for the rule of laws. He is going be the worst president ever elected in that country. With all their so called Degrees they have been in power for 6 years now without no development. The money for that airport comes from Turkey, and now our people are paying higher taxes for 3 terminals. Our leaders are the one killing us in Africa because of greed and Corruption.
