Between this and playing Katherine Howard in the original "Six" cast, I'm beginning to think Aimee Atkinson's thing is playing people who die due to bad choices in love.
Wow I honestly love this version more than the demo. The inflections that Aimee gives are amazing, and Frances is spectacular too. I can't wait to hear some of the stuff not from the concept album though - like The Way Things Are, and the reprises!
I always feel like I’m floating on a cloud listening to this song, can’t imagine hearing it live. Might just sacrifice half my years like Misa for that cast album👀. Jokes aside, this new cast is so good I’m in shock. That “LOOOVE” with the rasp at 2:04 is just🕊️🕊️😇
I didn’t think it was possible for any version of this song to be better than the concept album… Look at me being wrong. The way the emotion is conveyed in this feels so… real. Ugh, I wish I could of seen this live. I want this musical to come to the US now more than ever.
I know the pain all to well, but at the very least the fans who never got a chance to see this production can experience a fraction of this version through its upcoming cast recording
@@theassortedhobbyistwait they are going to release a cast recording for this production???? I had given up hope. I couldn’t find anything online about a new recording but that makes me so happy to hear. The demo is phenomenal but it is, just a demo, and I wish L had his other song on it
@@viviannes9152 They announced that they were going to release a cast recording back in October of 2023. However, because the album is technically a “concept album”, not all of the songs from the show will be included in the recording.
@@theassortedhobbyist ah gotcha that makes sense. I think I’m still a little salty that L didn’t get The Way Things Are on the demo. Like on one hand I get why it was cut, from a narrative perspective, but from a music perspective, breaks my heart. I’ll keep a lookout for that album drop!
Don't get me wrong the performace is beautiful. However, I do think Carrie Manolakos did a much better job with Rem in the 2015 demo. It's hard to explain but Carrie had this very leveled and calm tone even when singing high notes, perfect for Rem's character. Aimee Atkinson has an amazing voice but her voice does get louder and stronger at points, which doesn't fit Rem much. Could just be me tho. Can't wait to hear the official cast recording!
@@MintMilky japanese recording rem had a low and calm voice too and it picked up well so I don't think it matters if it's on stage. Aimee usually has a stronger voice in her other performances so it may be just her preferred way of singing.
@@pepperbee_ And he didn't even need such an eleborate costume to have way more character. I stiill prefer to listen to the demo, because I don't understand Japanese and the lyrics are actually important to me in music.

It must be because they are singing live and whether or not their voice should be heard?
I like the demo better too. (But London Ren is still way better than their Ryuk.)

Everything in this just feels so much more rushed compared to the 2015 versions
It is a tad faster compared to the original demo and the Japanese version, but I kind of think it works in a couple of sections in the song.
