I tried this, and it still doesn't work. It still says I have to update the fire stick, even through it says my fire stick js up to date when I try to update it. I'm about to give up and do a factory reset.

If you cannot install the Silk browser by following the method described in this video, you can try sideloading it.
Use my Downloader code 28907 and select the BROWSERS category. Select Amazon Silk. Move down the page to find the blue DOWNLOAD button and select it to install the app.

@@FireTVSticks I have the same problem. It won't open at all and keeps telling me to update FireStick but it is already updated to the latest version 2024. How do I REMOVE the thing forever?

@@FireTVSticks Tanya, I logged into Amazon, found the downloader app, selected the name of my firestick and then hit deliver, On my TV I get a failed to download message, It acts like there is a write protect ?? I checked all the different areas under setting, when I go to manage apps, Downloader is not there. Seems like I am so close but something is stopping this. Please let me know what you might think. Doesn’t work for me. Followed the steps and app did not show up at all. I tried going to the app in the App Store and I still get the message to update firestick. Yet when I check for updates, it says the firestick is up to date
