Keep in mind to demand the appropriate position where necessary. It's not that rare, that some professors want the first author position despite not contributing anything besides their existence. I am very adamant to demand first authorship where applicable and even go as far as outright refusing any authorship to professors who didn't even do any supervision work. Don't care who you are, whether or not I work for you or whatever. If you want to be on a paper, you better contribute. To my surprise, I never had much discussions about it. Just recently we had an undergraduate do all the work, me supervising the work and professor merely supervising my supervision. I swapped the positions of the authors around for her to be first author, me being second and him being last with the remark that if he doesn't like it, he's free to completely delete his name off the paper. No objections, it was submitted with my suggested order.
This is really helpful, thank you for making this video
Thanks for the useful information
